It's Trader Joe's, it's a nice place to shop for one or two. Not the best place to shop for the entire family. The Trader Joe food's are tasty and the prices are decent. All you have to do is look around and see the customers to know what kind of store it is. I really love this place. I haven't been shopping here in at least a year. I don't buy too many items from Trader Joe's but they have a handful of products that are to die for. Their cinnamon raisin bread (although I'm sure it's not for those trying to watch their weight) is absolutely delicious and is usually gone in less than 24 hours in my house. Their macaroni and cheese as well as their orange chicken is delicious also. Tonight I bought their spinach artichoke dip and carrot cake to try. The spinach artichoke dip was not very tasty at all. It tasted like something that I could get at the grocery store that was too heavy with garlic. Plus it tasted processed. The carrot cake on the other hand was delicious! Since its a bit of a stretch to shop here (it's a good 10 minutes or more drive) I don't shop here too often but I will definitely be returning. Their prices aren't bad either. read more

I haven't been coming to Trader Joe's as often but Tuesday I came here for two items to make a fruit salad (butter lettuce and watermelon). Anyway, I go up to the register and Evan kindly points out that the watermelon I selected was bruised. He then walks me back to the produce and gives me a few words of advice when selecting fruit and pricing. Unfortunately I am the only one who eats watermelon in my household, but the advice was appreciated. He then takes the bruised watermelon in the back, comes up behind me and proceeds to carry the watermelon to the register. Let me say, I am not use to people being nice enough to carry my items. And I thought chivalry was dead and gone. It seems as if Trader Joe's has built a culture of courtesy within their company that I wish others would adopt. Thank you Evan for being courteous, it really made my day because I had just got cursed out for taking too long to park my car so I wasn't in a good mood. It is the little things. P.S. I really DO NOT like going to that shopping center, people are so rude and always want to add their opinions where they do not belong. I love Trader Joe's and this one is no different. I enjoy the variety, the freshness and the friendliness of the employees. Everyone always appears to be happy and ready to help if you need something. The prices are so reasonable and the mac and cheese is so good. My only frustration is that it's always so crowded and sometimes hard to maneuver around shoppers. I may just have to start shopping at odd hours to avoid the crowds. . read more

I love this place! Awesome, healthy, natural foods. They don't carry any food from China (even dog food). The staff is helpful and sooo friendly. I was at the Fairfax Trader Joe's (Main St. across from Woodson HS) and it's a store I visit every other week. The employees are friendly and helpful, the selection and prices are spot-on. My wife asked me to pick up a simple or basic tub of pico de gallo, we had family friends coming over and this is a hit for entertaining as well as an easy sell to our kids. I asked an employee where their pico de gallo was and walked over the refrigerated salsa case by a happy and energetic employee. There was a good selection of salsa but I didnt see one that specifically said pico de gallo (yes, I realize one is English and the other is Spanish/Mexican for what is essentially the same thing) when I was told there wasnt any and to pick one of the several salsas in front of me. I noticed a "Serrano Salsa Fresca" and another salsa labeled "Mild". I asked another employee if one said "Mild" if I should assume the "Fresca" would be hot ... it was explained to me that the "Fresca" version was not hotter but more "home style" and would be as if I chopped an onion and tomato myself (and was told it would be a good choice for kids). I just had some and it was awesome and NOT awesome at the same time. It was awesome because it was a very dominant salsa that had character and tasted very fresh. It was NOT awesome because it the feel was fine and smooth like it was processed and not the big "I chopped it myself" like I was led to believe. It was also very spicy, my tongue is actually feeling its sting as I compose this letter. This might have been quite a disaster if I had offered it to my children and the children of our guests but I'm lucky that they're coming tomorrow and I decided to sample it this evening. I am not angry with the employee's for they were just trying to assist AND they are very helpful and happy, more so than the typical grocery store clerks. But I would like the store management to realize just how much better their staff would be if they were better educated of their products - maybe a chips and salsa tasting is in order ? Also, my wife told me she has actually purchased a tub that's marked "Pico De Gallo" at that same Trader Joe's somy being told that this wasnt offered is a HUGE oversight (I hope it is, beats a lie ?). And lastly - I'm no prude and I actually LOVE spicy but for kids or folks who might have lower tolerance - saying someting is mild or kid friendly and it being HOT is no small thing. I know this will sound melodramatic but these are things that ruin events and make strong and lasting impressions in a 6 or 8 year old - not very flattering impressions should they have eaten some of it. I feel bad about writing this note for I am a huge Trader Joe's fan but it must be said so that the issue (even one that may NOT happen often) is addressed accordingly. ... so less than 24 hours later, a store manager (Kim) called me and said she was going to do a salsa tasting - impressive response time ! changing my rating from 2 stars to 5 stars - thanks Kim for making it right - right away - I'm a fan ! read more

I love how cheap their produce is, I can go there and spend $10 and get a lot of nice produce, which is great if you are on a budget. The staff is very friendly, it seems like it takes longer to check out because they're always chatting, which doesn't bother me, I don't go there when I'm in a hurry. I mostly just go there for the produce, cheese , jams, and booze. They don't really stock much international food, aside from Italian, and the frozen stuff. I've had some serious issues with their prepared food though, the mushroom ravioli was Horrible, the mushrooms hadn't been cleaned well I guess because every bite had some sort of grit in it and the flavor was like the worst mushrooms you've ever had. So overall I really like going there, but only for specific things, in my experience the ones on the west coast tend to be better. read more

I love Trade Joe's. It's always an adventure when I visit and there are so many things there that I like to buy. One challenge is that sometimes they change the product ingredients of some of my favorite products. For example, there's a trail mix called Simply the Best that I go to Trader Joe's specifically to buy, but they now use a different type of pineapple that I don't like. And also, I love their coconut oil, but I've checked in 3 different Trade Joe's and haven't been able to get it. But overall, Trader Joes is my favorite grocery store. If they had every thing I need, I would shop exclusively there. The prices are good an the products are good. The staff is also nice. One time it rained and they held an umbrella over my head and walked me to my car. It doesn't get much better than that. read more

This Trader Joe's is just like most other Trader Joe's. They all have relatively the same selection of product, however this location feels a little more cramped than other locations I'm used to. Parking is also not as easy at this location since the shopping center is very densely populated. Having said that the cashiers are very friendly, and I can still get in and out in a relatively decent amount of time. The location is pretty convenient, but it's surprisingly hard to turn into this shopping center from Little River Turnpike. read more

Think hippie Whole Foods on a budget and you get Trader Joe's. Perfect for the 20-something who doesn't have any money but likes to live as if she does. In a nutshell, me. Great, AFFORDABLE wine and gourmet beer selection. May I recommend the blueberry Kennenbunkport (I actually have no idea how to spell it) wheat beer for $5.49, two buck Chuck (two bucks a bottle in CA but due to taxes and transport costs, higher here) aka Charles Shaw Cabernet Sauvignon at $3.49 a bottle (a fantastic filler or table wine for parties where you're hosting and you don't wanna break the bank), and the cheese... oh, the CHEESE! Such a nice selection, though they didn't have a Roquefort. More likely than not, you can sample some wine and cheese in the store. Try the TJ's creamy tomato soup from the box. It is sooooo good and all you ahve to do is heat it up. Bonus points for their recycling program: bring back your paper bags or use your own grocery bag and get entered into monthly drawings. Great fresh flower selection for good prices! Very helpful staff who seem genuinely happy to be there. read more

Such an awesome grocery store to have locally vs the chaotic mess that is Wegmans. I love the atmosphere in here and that most of the items are found to be organic and non-GMO. Also, you can't beat the prices! Organic chicken breast here will only run a little under $10. It's usually quiet during the week during the day. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and I love the free samples they give out! Def will be returning for my weekly shopping trips. read more

Love the selection of gluten free pasta items; especially the Black Bean, the RAW almond peanut butter which is really hard to find anywhere else; and if you do it is usually priced much much higher than TJ's. Trader Joe's, how I love thee! This is my favorite TJ's, and luckily the one closest to my house. While the parking lot can be frustrating, once you're in the door, your cares fade away. We do almost all of our grocery shopping (occasionally there are some things we can't find here, but that's okay). Not that I get them often, but the frozen meals at TJ's are way better than anywhere else! They have a great selection of wine and beer and many of the staff members are very knowledgeable and helpful if you aren't sure what you're looking for. The cheese section is probably my favorite part of the store...plenty of variety and the prices can't be beat. Almost every time we check out, we get into a conversation with the cashier about one of the products and will exchange ideas about recipes. I can't get over how friendly the staff is! Also, if you're a pumpkin fan, this is the place for you. They had pumpkin EVERYTHING this year! read more

This is a great store. It is on the smaller side (as with all TJs) but they tend to have most of the groceries you will need and what they do have is quite reasonable in price compared to other stores like Giant and Safeway and usually much better tasting and for you as well (organic, etc.) The other good thing about shopping here is the ethnic food, the great frozen food, cheese, and wine! read more

I usually shop at the Trader Joes in Clarendon, but was in Fairfax so stopped here for groceries instead. They didn't have some pretty basic items (red onions) but the main reason for the low score is the cleanliness. It seemed really dirty! There were flies everywhere - all over the produce, and even all over the cashiers when I was checking out. Don't plan on coming back here. read more

I would shop here all the time if they found s better building. Not only is the store awkwardly cramped in a corner, the parking lot is always overcrowded and clustered. If you do happen to find a spot, be prepared to battle it out inside as the inside is so tight getting around it with a cart is a haste. I love Trader Joes, but the stress isn't worth it. Trader Joe's that is located at Tyson's that has the best team and best service . I was Trying the find a melon and Mo came to help me with a huge smile and started helping me to find other items that I wasn't able to find . He was very professional. He was helping lots of the customers with smile and as soon As he saw the long line he opened up to help me since I was in the rush . I mentioned to him that my husband is diabetic he recommended a chocolate that was no sugar added . His name was Mo Guindo. One his peers gave me his name , please thank him for us while he was opening the boxes , he was helping me and others and as busy as he was he jumped on the other side to help the long line for us not to wait . He was very caring and as being a business owner I saw his outstanding performance and he was kind with everybody with smile .
