Good produce, not as big as Central Market but, a bit cheaper. They have some really good vegetarian meatless options.

Finally made the trek to Trader Joe's and was pleasantly surprised at their coffee selection. Good variety of fruits, vegetables, frozen products, and other grocery items. (Need to go back and buy the Fleur de Sel caramels!) It was very cold in there which made it nice, since the heat in Ft. Worth was already about 85 at 10:30 a.m. But the parking was still uneven ( you have to drive around the block to enter) and I was very lucky to find an empty space near the entrance. Hopeful that in a couple of weeks Hulen street will be easier to access and I can do again. read more

Today I spent a good buck here today at TJ's. Apparently my comments in the local paper have one person to speculate that I must be a law breaker who was towed away for parking near TJ's. Ah, no, I park where legally allowed, but I can choose not to spend my money at unfriendly sad little stores which did not know the power of the TJ's. The service at this store is impeccable. Who knew I needed amazing customer service at a grocery store? After shopping here, I really don't enjoy myself shopping elsewhere! I can walk up to a worker and they will give me fabulous suggestions and treat me like I'm a good friend. I truly love coming to this store because of the workers. I waited so long for one in DFW! I used to mail my clothes back when I would visit TJ's in other cities, and fill my suitcase with food (before they started charging for checked luggage.) It's still a drive, but if I can plan a trip around other things in the area, it's great to stock up. There are so many products I love from there, and it saves me from having to spend more on similar in a certain expensive health-food/gourmet grocery. read more

I love Trader Joe's. The employees are always so nice and helpful. The food is good and they always have sample areas see up to try new foods. They have good/cheap wine and a great selection of beer. Most of the food is frozen, but that can be good, if you are looking to have something in your freezer that is easy to make, but also nutritious. The only downfall is that I don't have one closer to me. Suggestion for Trader Joe's: Please open a store in Arlington, TX or Mansfield, TX. read more

I couldn't decide on 3 or 4 stars. I gave it 4 for the beer prices of $4 for a 6 pack of 6% beer. They got some cheap wine too, but I'm no wino, so I can't comment on it. Most of the rest of their prices are on the high side. The wife loves the frozen international foods, the humus, and salami. Went on a wed. night and it was dead. I grew up in Southern California, and Trader Joe's was a staple of my family's existence! This location is no different than any other Trader Joe's, everything about the place is clean, fresh and inviting, from its island atmosphere to its organic produce. If you're looking for a well-priced haven of organic and natural food, there aren't a whole lot better places to choose from than Trader Joe's! (Hint: try their Gingeroos, chewy ginger cookies that I can't help but buy EVERY single time we go there). read more

Trader joes is one of those quirky California stores that finally made it to Texas. I love this store! It has a fun festive atmosphere - I have never encountered a grumpy employee here. The food is fabulous and not expensive at all. They highlight the trader Joe brand on pretty much everything. The pre made salads are delish and great for work day lunches. TJs is my favorite grocery store bc of the amazing food and the affordable prices. Staff members are always friendly and willing to offer recommendations (even if you don't ask haha). If you are hoping to get in and out quickly, don't go on a Sunday...seems like they are super busy all day long. Trader joes is always a staple grocery store for organic and all natural foods. Best perk is the 19cents per lb on the bananas! what a steal! Their wine selection is great as well you can get a $3 bottle of wine (two buck chuck) or a $19 bottle of wine. Sometimes you can partake in the wine sampling on weekends! I can go and get a weeks worth of groceries for one under $50. Now if they would just do something about the parking area there. More space!! :) read more

Love that this is the first TJ's in Texas. Right next to a school as their expansion model follows along communities of intellect and higher education. Really. Keep them coming TJ's. One day people will realize that you don't need a million items that basically sit on the shelf forever. They have usually 1 to a handful of variations on the same thing to keep it simple. They go through their items very quickly so things don't stay forever and collect dust. They carry a very affordable selection of alcohol and their organic produce can't be beat in terms of prices. My staples are their organic greens and apples (can't beat their prices) as well as their carne asada, half and half, free range organic chickens and variations on snacks like their organic blue corn chips. Hummus and Margherita pizza (non-frozen) are also awesome. Now that there is less of a commotion about each store, you can take your time to find what are your staple items to enjoy for your sooner to be healthy family. read more

Tiny store, small food selection, but great service, very nice employees. Except there is no parking! It is absolutely ridiculous that I have to sit in the parking lot for 10 minutes waiting for somebody to leave so that I can park. There was a line of cars entering and exiting both tiny sections of the parking lot. I never did get to park so I had to leave. Which is really unfortunate because it's not like there's a Trader Joe's that's even close to here. I'm very frustrated because I really like to shop there read more

Amazing first visit! I got the orange chicken, chicken Alfredo, and Belgian chocolate pudding. Extremely fast checkout. The cashier immediately produced a spoon when I mentioned to my friend I wanted one to try it. The pudding was so rich, thick, and chocolate-y, best pudding I've ever eaten. The orange chicken was crunchy and quality chicken and the sauce was sweet and spicy. Another must buy. The pasta was also very delicious, thick, rich, sauce and delicious quality chicken. read more

The only thing I don't like about Trader Joe's is that they don't exist near my home! I make the drive to the Hulen location about 1-2 times per month and stock up. I spend a fraction of what I normally spend at my grocery store closest to home and I get better food. Most everything I buy at Trader Joe's I can actually read all the ingredients listed! Not only is the selection of food better but the customer service is excellent; employees are always very personable and in good spirits. Thank you for existing Trader Joe's! We're from California and learned to love Trader Joe's long before it was taken over by the Aldi folks. The secret to Trader Joe's is in the name. Trader Joe has somehow bartered with suppliers to get items that you won't find elsewhere; at least, that's what they want you to believe. Originally, it was a spot to find great beer, wine and cheeses at bargain prices. Not so today, they carry a lot of items that you will find at other markets and the prices for those items are no great bargain. They carry a variety of produce, much of it organic, and all fairly priced. The produce, cheese and wine selection will never outdo Central Market, so if that is what you are looking for just go to Central Market. But, the fun of Trader Joe's is in the treasure hunt. They have so many unique items such as candies, sauces, frozen goods, canned goods and other great things, These items are hardly ever disappointing and usually are surprisingly good. It takes a long time shopping at Trader Joe's to find your favorites because there are so many products that most people don't know about. You need to be venturesome and over time try everything that looks good to you. At the same time, if you are there anyway, pick up your salad makings, or whatever else you might need for dinner and save a trip to another market. It's all good. The people who rave about Trader Joe's are those people that have discovered those unique products that they like and can't find anywhere else. So like I said, the fun of Trader Joe's is in the hunt. Most people enjoy that experience. If you don't, Trader Joe's is not for you. read more

Finally went there today and have to say it's a fun little place. Went to one in California by my office so I knew what to expect. I did pick up the cookie butter and it is yummy and the turkey burgers are good too. What I didn't like, the parking lot is far too small for all this traffic. Way to under think that one. I was in the check out line and the checker was making remarks about the neighboring parking lots putting signs up and towing and telling people they can't park there and I believe her snide remark was "yeah they're real nice neighbors". Working nearby and frequenting many of those establishments for years before TJ's got there I can tell you they are nice people and if your customers park in their lot where would their businesses be. Again way to under think the parking situation and the traffic. Will I go back, probably but will walk over from the office. I sincerely, hope the managers read this and advise their employees to be kinder to the neighbors in their comments. That was unprofessional. It might have been nice to invite their neighbors in for a pre-grand opening to help ease the madness that has ensued. I don't see it getting any better any time soon either. read more

TJ's is probably my most favorite to shop in the world. the quality,availability & selection is always the best. I love all their frozen quickie dinners for on the run.. The cheese selection is outstanding & very reasonably priced. I always love grabbing a sample or 2 from the demonstrators. I am so happy they finally made their way to TX. I shopped there for over 20 years in Seattle. I just tried their chili lime chicken burgers with cilantro lime dressing. OUTSTANDING!! read more

I have family living in San Francisco and have shopped at Trader Joes there. I was really looking forward to Trader Joes being in the Dallas area. I made my long trek over to Fort Worth to Trader Joes. What a huge disappointment. There Humus had no texture, almost slimy. The fresh salsa wasn't as good as the one I had at Trader Joes in San Francisco. Some of the chips I tried were tasteless and stale. Their almond butter wasn't as good as the almond butter I got at Costco. On the other hand, there cherry jam was delicious. Trader Joes needs to work on their products that they are sending/making in Texas. Parking in Fort Worth was bad, so I would like to know where everyone will be able to park when they open their store on Greenville Ave. read more

I simply cannot understand the hype about this place. People are apparently not aware that this is Aldi's. The same family in Germany owns both grocery chains. One side runs Aldi's & the other runs Trader Joe's. The merchandise is the same no-name store brand stuff that can be had at Aldi's but more expensive. The famous $3.00 buck wine tastes like acid mixed with water. The bakery section is almost non-existent. Most of this very tiny store is store brand frozen goods. Don't believe the sheeple who say this place is great. One good note---the staff is very nice. read more

I love this place. I've been coming here for groceries since it opened and even more after discovering it is the closet grocery store to where I live. Think of it as a Central market type but not as expensive. For example a tiny bit of fresh basil at central market will cost you about $3 but at TJ's you can buy 10x as much for the same price. I also like that they are very pescetarian friendly which is great since I'm trying to adopt that diet plan. Their frozen food section is also pretty great with a good selection of Indian and other Asian cuisines. There beer selection is surprisingly good as well. They have really cheap bottles of wine that are also surprisingly not bad! For such a small store they seem to pack an amazing assortment of good in here for reasonable prices. The only draw back is there's not a butcher and all fish/meats are pre-packaged. But if you read my Matador review you would know that you should already be seeking a local butcher anyway. read more

I love love LOVE Trader Joe's!!! The food here is awesome! Everything here is great but my favorites are their cinnamon swirl bread (you'll want to eat the whole loaf in a day it's so good), lemonade, frozen pizzas (taste so fresh!), COOKIE BUTTER, and their frozen breaded chicken. Now that it has been open for a while, it doesn't get as crowded which is great. read more
