I love this place. I could shop there always- it has become my first choice for food shopping. I still need Jewel or Target for house hold goods. But all my food shopping is done at TJ's first. The staff is so helpful and friendly. They go out of their way to locate items or check on their status. Love this Trader Joe's. I live close by and was always saying, "I'm going to check it out" and didn't. Now that I have (a while ago now) I'm there once a week. Produce is fresh, the soups and some of the frozen items can be greatly priced for family meals and the staff is so helpful and friendly it puts you in a better mood. I had no further desire to Yelp this place, but this was worth a comment. I make a quick stop for an item (a necessary evil at times) and, unfortunately need to use the restroom (another necessary evil.) There are two restrooms, located behind a door, in a narrow hallway. I open the door and find 2 TJ employees, sitting at a tiny table, interviewing a potential hire. (In that narrow hallway, about 2 feet from the restroom door.) I can tell you that it was uncomfortable to use said restroom with the employment conversation going on outside the thin door, and I can't imagine the candidate was too thrilled either. Further, it struck me as ridiculously unprofessional. Do you not have a small office? A stock room? A loading dock? For godsake, take the kid over to Corner Bakery and let him munch on a bagel while he tells you that his dream has always been to stock quinoa and tempeh while wearing a hawaiian shirt and making unconvincingly friendly conversation with customers. Anywhere else would do, really. Just step away from the toilets. read more

Where do I begin? If you are looking to move your diet to the organic, then this is the place to go. It's a place you can go to and pick something off the shelf and not worry about where the product originally came from. If you are looking to serve healthy good food without having to make too much effort or you just don't want to or can't cook, again, here's the place to go. Several frozen options that you just stick into an oven, pour into a pot, place in a microwave and voila!! Dinner is served. Hub and I find that the prices here are comparable to other stores, ie. Jewel, so we buy what we know we can find at Trader Joe's and the stuff that we can't find at Trader Joe's, we buy at Jewel. Gotta try their coffee...really good blends. And don't laugh, but they have the best boxed roasted pepper and tomato soup ever. Gotta love their smoked salmon options. When hub and I do a cheese plate meal, we always include one of their small packages of smoked salmon. Good stuff. And yes...let's not forget the interesting and extremely price challenging wines. I always know I can find the hub in this area when I lose him. We've found a few really good ones. Anyone who isn't fussy about yogurt, try the strawberry or banana flavored yogurt. I had it for over a month and it was still good. I found a caramel macadamia nut popcorn that is astounding, and my favorite junkfood is Trader Joe's peanut butter filled pretzels. Every once in awhile, I like to indulge in the chocolate covered pretzels, but that's only once in awhile. I sympathize for all those people who try to get to the Trader Joe's in the city. The parking lot in LaGrange, IL is shared by Border's, Pier Imports, and some other smaller stores, but I always manage to find parking. Anyone who hasn't tried shopping here, give it a shot. I have to say, the people that work here are some of the most interesting and friendliest people that I've ever met. They really know their community and have a genuine concern for everyone that walks in. You will always get a greeting from one or more employee. They have this board filled with pics of people's pets, primarily dogs. And they have the local school events posted. It's like having a neighborhood grocery store, and we all know there aren't many of those anymore. read more

Trader Joes. What did I do before Trader Joes? My life was a lot more boring. TJ's always has fun new stuff. It is great just to walk around in that store. #1 prices. You feel like you are getting a good deal, which in fact, most of the time you are! #2 healthy snacks, I love me some snackin' and for as much as I do, I need it to be healthy. Good fruits, pita chips, whole grain pretzels, soy/fax tortilla chips, Baby Bel lite cheese, greek yogurt, all excellent prices and quality #3 super cool and nice staff, always easy to find, wanting to chat you up, all in all just cool. #4 good demo station with lots of tasty recipes. Makes for a nice little treat while shopping. So I love TJs for all that and more. They have organic produce. They have unique items, cookies from Europe and Green Tea Ice Cream. They have lots of nuts and excellent prices. Oh, if you ever have a problem with an item, they take it back no questions asked. How 'bout that for some customer service? My kashi and Barbara's cereal is always cheaper here too! read more

Certain items can be as cheap or cheaper than larger grocery stores, including Jewel or Tony's. Other items, being a store more focused on higher-end or specialty items, including vegetarian/vegan (of which I am neither) can be considerably more expensive per pound/unit, but the quality tends to be much higher. Generally prices seem to be about the same compared to the portion size at other stores. My mom buys pot roast at Jewel for about $10 per whatever-the-hell weight she gets, and TJ's sells it over 90% lean for that price, for a similarly-sized piece (based solely on visuals). I mainly come in for the beer, which they mainly just have off-brands and some lesser-known brands (as well as sporting Goose Island), the beer is good quality for the price. While I can get Miller Lite for about $5-$5.50 for a 6-pack at Jewel or Ultra, $6 gets me a 6-pack of great Stockyard Oatmeal Stout. They have a fairly large wine selection, but as I don't typically drink wine I won't rate based on that. But I wish I would have started coming to TJ's sooner. The price can't be beat for the quality and has been said before, the staff is incredible. Plus, their T-shirts rock! read more

This Trader Joe's is very nice and large. I love grocery shopping here and always find great food and organic products! My favorite thing and best suggestion is to go to the wine aisle where they always have great wines for cheap. They have something called the 3 buck chuck...it's good wine for $3!!!! read more

Friendly and inexpensive with vegan and vegetarian options galore!

I stop by Trader Joes on the way home from the train at least 3 times a week as it's mere feet from the La Grange train station. Always a consistent drive to keep the customer happy. The staff will always go out of their way to answer your questions or find someone who can help you, find merchandise or walk you over to whatever you're trying to find. They are quick to open additional registers should there be more than 2 customers in line. Merchandise is fresh and if something should spoil to quick I've never had a problem with returns. read more

Customer service- have it right. Food is nice, great variety of different items not found in other local markets. Potato chips are to die for--Trader Joe brand. Prices are reasonable. Parking a bit tight on weekends. But friendly staff, great flower selection. read more

I really like this TJ's in particular. I've started to do most of my grocery shopping here, as they carry products that are important to me. The carry an array of organic products at affordable prices. I love their recycled paper products--they are the most affordable recycled paper products among any store. And they carry number of products that are not tested on animals like lotions and hand soaps. This is where I do most of my shopping for household products like this. The employees are always friendly and helpful. I also love the fact that the store is not gigantic. It has everything that we need. read more
