This was the first time I was in this Trader's Joe's and was not disappointed. Parking was a bit hectic on the weekend. The store was so crowded and hectic . The layout seemed to add to chaos . They had a variety of their products and it is always an interesting experience to view their new offerings, but because it was so crowded, browsing was difficult. This is the location I frequent although it's not near my home but worth the trip. I wish there was a location near me! I visited today to pick up my trader Joe favorites and was thrilled with some new finds! Wine and cheese selection is always good! Great selection, but our cashier was very dismissive. Our cashier was named DREW. He was very talkative with person in front of us, as my wife & I came up didn't welcome us. We asked how his day, he looked away. Didn't ask if we needed a bag. Just wanted to ring our stuff quickly and have us go. My wife even tried saying have a good day, and looked away again. This was a very rude experience, I understand having a bad day but not when the person in front of us we saw a completely different experience. Everytime I enter this Trader Joe's I am never disappointed!! Everything is always stocked and looks great!! This is a great store to visit for healthy foods at reasonable prices. The store follows COVID-19 guidelines by enforcing masks, following distance guidelines and only allowing a certain amount of customers in at a time. My wait in line was no longer than 10 minutes. Once inside, the staff is friendly and helpful. I came to stock up on items before a snow day. Trader Joes sells a variety of items such as, vegan foods items, hygiene products, vitamins, alcoholoic beverages, fresh organic fruits and vegetables, healthy comfort foods, spices, pantry items, and much more. Some of my favorites are the buffalo wings, turkey wraps, frozen macaroni and cheese, fresh baked items, frozen bluberry waffles, seasonal foods, and much more. Many of the food items are quick and easy to prepare for those who have busy lives. I used to dread going grocery shopping at big supermarkets. This Trader Joe's location is much smaller, but, still has all the essentials, and a good selection of unessential items too. The staff works very hard, and does a good job keeping on top of the lines/checkouts. Worst part of shopping has always been "waiting", and thankfully, usually the wait here is not too bad. That said, they do get stampeded with giant crowds sometimes. Not sure if there is any solution to the insane crowds. Its hard to know when they will be normal busy or crazy busy. I dont blame them for the crowds though, as their aisles are pretty wide and allow good flow, their cashiers are generally very fast, and, if they see a line, they try to add more folks to the registers to keep checkout moving. Overall, I am quite pleased with them and will continue to do most of my shopping there. read more

Loved this store lots of room to get around not overcrowded with stock all over .....prices are pretty good will take more than one visit to get to see everything there just because of the size of the store, lots of space to run around. Great selection of stuff. You can find So many healthy things here. They have fresh produce and flowers. Of course, prices are all worth it! Easy parking and getting into the shopping center area. You want to know why I like Trader Joe's? Is it their prices? Not really, while they have many shelved items that are quite reasonable, anything fresh (produce, meats, cheeses) can be priced very high. There are a few reasons I like Trader Joe's: 1. You can get things there you won't find anywhere else. 2. Their fresh foods (while expensive) are always of a high quality. Their prepared foods are also good. 3. You want wines? They have plenty of wine to choose from ranging anywhere from those rated well by Wine Spectator all of the way down to Two Buck Chuck, their house wine. It's $2.99 a bottle and not bad. 4. Their frozen foods are really outstanding. They have fresh-frozen fish that cannot be beat. They have a wide variety of frozen vegetables, prepared dishes, pizzas, deserts, fruits, and all are very reasonably prices. 5. They are friendly. Everyone who works there appears to be having a great time. They all help each other out. They help customers. They provide premiere service. So, that's the story. Unfortunately the closest one is almost 10 miles from us, so there are other grocers we go to first. But, we make our trip to Trader Joe's a family outing. This Trader Joe's has been my sanctuary during quarantine. To top it off, the other day one of the staff gave me an item "on the house" bc we'd struck up conversation about plant-based items and I'd never tried the one he mentioned so I ran and got it for myself while he was ringing up the rest of my stuff. Trader Joe's is one of my favorite stores and this is by far my favorite location. The employees here are so friendly and helpful. Shopping here is actually a pleasant experience, unlike most other grocery stores. The reason I took off one star is because twice in the past couple of years, I've gotten rotten meat. I really like this Trader Joe's location. In fact, I've decided that I really like Lake Zurich. This Trader Joe's is very similar to the one in Arlington Hts. with one main difference. Here, the people in the parking lots have some sort of etiquette. If you've read my reviews in the last year, you know I hate the pervasive anarchist driving that seems to be everywhere in Wheeling, Palatine, and Arlington Hts. LOVE LOVE LOVE Trader Joes! They give your shopping experience a totally new outlook. There isn't anything negative I can say about this place. The employees are sweet and attentive, the store has tons of goodies (though you probably can't only go shopping at trader joes) and well, its TRADER JOES! Items that I love? Their ready made lentil with their chipotle dressing (OMG). Such a great dip and its tasty, healthy, and an explosion in your mouth. I love Trader Joe's! I always find something here that I fall in love with and the staff is extremely friendly and outgoing. No joke. Every time I go, the workers don't ignore you and run through the daily grind, they always have some valuable input, recommendations, and have a sincere friendliness about them. You gotta love Two-Buck Chuck. Try the skinless chicken andoulle (sp?) sausages, they're the *best*! Also, take a swing at their selection of teas. It's not huge, but I haven't bought a tea there that I haven't liked yet. I personally love the Ginger tea for after meals. I would caution people against some of the frozen foods, as they tend to have a higher fat content. Also, I warn people of the snack-food aisle. Dried fruits are great, but beware those dried with copious amounts of sugar. read more

The biggest problem with Trader Joe's is that I go in with money and come out with no money. I like to treat myself to too many things there. This store isn't huge but there is still plenty of room to walk around and it's usually not crowded during the week. The staff here is very friendly. Always asking if you need help finding anything or just friendly chit-chatting with you. Plus they always have samples, which is just a ploy to get me to buy the product they are sampling and it usually works. The prices are fair but like I said I usually spend too much because I buy too many treats! You can't go wrong at this store! read more

I love Trader Joe's but wish I didn't have to drive 20 minutes to get to one. Their produce section is always great and lately I've been using their bread department as well after I found they have pretzel rolls and great multi-grains. One of the biggest reasons I shop here is because their staff is always pleasant and they try what the sell so I can trust their opinions. Their freezer section is unique (in a good way) but my absolute favorite item in the store is the peanut butter stuffed pretzels and now they have them covered in chocolate too! Their deli and dairy sections have great selections too but they tend to be over priced. Everything is pretty much organic which means you will pay triple the price to guarantee the cow used to make your cheese was raised by some hippie. read more

Yes, Trader Joe's is a grocery store, but it's a unique place. I mean, how many people are reviewing their local Jewel or Dominick's? There are many reasons to bypass the local grocery store and head to TJ's. A couple of them are: -- the wine selection (esp. the "world famous" Three-Buck-Chuck!) -- the fresh breads -- the excellent selection of cheeses (surpassed only by Whole Foods) -- their private label ice cream (so creamy it's like custard) -- their people (they must administer some kind of personality test to prospective employees as everyone there is genuinely pleasant and friendly) All this, and their prices are quite reasonable (unlike Whole Foods). :-) read more

NICEST STAFF EVER! A +++++++++++++ Okay seriously they were so nice I wanted to buy more...which I guess make this a positive or negative review, depending how you look at that last statement ;) Anyway, my mom and I came in to exchange some cheese we bought and they were totally cool about it. We had the receipt but even when we showed one of the ladies, she said don't worry, it would be fine without it, too. We ended up buying quite a few items because of the extremely cold weather we are having in Chicago, and when we came to the register, another gentleman walked us to a cashier and we all started talking about cheeses. It was very casual and fun. That is one thing I love about Trader Joe; no one is ever pretentious and everyone always wants to help, have a conversation, and make you feel right at home. I have been to serval locations and everyone has always been super nice, but I just had to comment about how sweet everyone was here, especially being such a crazy time with the cold weather and everyone stocking up on goods! read more

Affordable and Healthy! Trader Joes is the perfect size store, that sells only a few brands of an item. You won't find ten different brands of tomatoes here. They have what they have. And what they have is delicious ! I find myself coming here multiple times every week. I love the salads for work. The the right size. I have to say I've always loved LZ's Trader Joe's. I at least visit twice a week. This past week I had a medical emergency & ended up in the hospital. On Monday I needed to make a quick visit to Trader Joe's even though I still wasn't feeling well. The cashier noticed my tired demeanor and hospital bandages. Usually a great place to shop, but this afternoon the store was so crowded it was not possible to social distance in literally ANY of the aisles. Customers were as close as two to three feet apart, and there was no effort to suggest one-way traffic flow to reduce contact. Clearly the store staff lost count of how many customers were in the store at once. Only at the registers was there any distancing among customers. Please TJ, watch your aisles and your capacity. Trader Joe's is awesome. I like this location as opposed to the one in Northbrook because it's less crowded. The selection is great, the employees (as always) as very friendly are willing to help. If you want organic, vegan, and gluten free goods this is the place to shop. It's far cheaper than Whole Foods and in my opinion, the vibe of the store and the employees is friendlier and more laid back. Great grocery store and will definitely be back. read more

If you haven't been to Trader Joes, you don't know what you are missing. The best part about this place is that you don't have to sacrifice the food you love to maintain a healthy diet - they've got the correct food all in one convenient spot. I love Trader Joe's in general and as this was the first location I went to, it's special. That being said, it really is a good location compared to others. The produce selection is good and always fresh. The wine selection is very good and seems to be getting bigger. Their store brand is overpriced for the quality of the wine in relation to Two-Buck-Chuck; however, their prices and quality for other wines are fairly good for this type of store. I love their snacks, salsa, pasta, and cereal selections. They have good frozen items too. The lay out has changed a bit in recent years but everything is relatively easy to find. They workers I've encountered are generally very helpful. The one problem I've had is that theycould use more cashiers during the day. Overall it's a good store and I can always find more than what I had on my shopping list! read more

After living in Missouri and frequenting Trader Joe's for 5 years, I must admit the Lake Zurich TJ impresses beyond belief. I thought I found the perfect specialty foods store in TJ St. Louis until I visited this location. The store is small yet quaint, and they still offer my favorites. Most importantly, the 'LZTJ' (as they ought to call themselves) boasts an extraordinarily helpful crew that is easy to get along with in terms of customer service. I visited Mariano's and Fresh Market in the LZ area, and, frankly, the shopping experience did not compare. I am quite picky when it comes to groceries and LZTJ delivered on all fronts. I love Joe's , it rules! From it's fresh produce , to it's frozen meats,dry goods, and pre-prepared foods, I haven't had anything bad from Joe's. The selection leaves something to be desired, but I see very few items I would to need to make a meal that Joe's doesn't have. THE ABSOLUTE BEST orange juice I've ever had, tastes fresh squeezed, I want an IV filled with it! The pizza dough makes an excellent pie when paired with their fresh mozzarella.The parking at this location is easy and available. The staff is helpful and friendly and the prices are cheap, especially for largely organic or natural foods. The cynic in me wants to crap on the hippie-feelgood attitude of this place, but 30 minutes at Joe's has me humming "Truckin' " all the way home with my trunk full of goodies. read more
