    Trader Joe's Entrance

The Baseline: For a grocery store it must have a wide selection of items, the produce/bakery/meat selections must be fresh, the store aisles need to be clean/organized, the traffic flow must be logical, the prices must reflect the value, and the service from staff must be good. Food: This is Trader Joe's so it is going to have a variety of grocery items not considered standard by major grocery chains. The items I come to expect to be available from a TJ store are typically there and I get some good finds. On my visit all the produce items and meat items looked fresh and of good quality. The things I probably didn't need but were fun to find were bought. I also got ice cream, so good trip. Service: All the store staff were friendly and helpful looking for items we came in for. Register check out had a nice engaging conversation and helpful demeanor with staff member Kike. Ambiance: The aisles were cleaned and stocked, well organized on my visit. The flow of the aisles are slightly askew from a grid like aisle standard but were functional to the flow of traffic making selections. Price: Trader Joe's has some really good value items but it is based on quantities with a 2-3 member household ratio. I had no complaints about my bill.

I really like this Trader Joe's. They have a lot of the items that I want to buy. It is always crowded, but they are always quick to check you out.

Been shopping at my neighborhood Trader Joe's for 30+ years. We love it here! Although smaller and less busy than other TJ, they are very busy. This is our kitchen! We shop here sometimes 2 times a week to get what we need for the week. I know some of the staffs for over 10 years and watched many new ones comes and go. Feel like neighbors we've known for decades. Small parking lot as well but there are also some street parking on Manhattan Beach Blvd.

Need some groceries so I went to Trader Joe's. Got some smoked turkey lunch meat for my sandwich. While there I thought yeah I need potato chips to go with the sandwich. Found some great chips cooked in olive oil. Love this place because I can always fine some unique stuff that other stores do not carry. When I went check out standing in line behind some big shoppers a checker who was open took me in so I did not have to wait in line. Then when I went to pay on my phone by Apple Pay he was extremely helpful with how the process worked. Very friendly people and great clean place to shop.

Trader Joe's is a chain of medium sized markets. It has its own label of some great products. There is a good selection of vegan options and vegetarian options as well. We really like this Trader Joe's. The service is just super friendly and they know where everything is. It is kept clean and the aisles are a great size, unlike some that are a bear to get through. Check out is easy and contactless. The woman that checked us out was so nice to my grandson, helping him pack up and such a sweet smile she gave him--makes a difference. As with all Trader Joe's parking can take a minute, but at least it is free. What I really love is their selection of things you just won't find elsewhere, like their tea, they must have 30 different kinds. They have a good selection of coffee and organic produce. Even their frozen section is good. They have some of their own brands and I have never had a bad one. They have wine at good prices and some different types of sodas and water. You will like this place. We love it.

I've been driving the extra distance to Trader Joe's ever since to do all my food shopping and have been really happy...but tonight I needed a few small things and Trader Joe's was close to closing time, so I rolled the dice and gave Ralph's another chance due to a closer proximity, later hours and the hopes that in all this time some improvements may have been made. I was so wrong; and the decision was a monumental mistake. There isn't a single category where Ralph's is even competitive with TJ's. The organic product quality was literally disgusting and I had to opt to just forego buying two of the items I needed. The bakery item I purchased (cake) was stale, loaded with chemicals, and left a strange film and aftertaste in my mouth to the point I couldn't even finish it. The employees are stressed out and spread thin due to insane understaffing (one poor unfortunate soul sweating & doing their best to man the only open register) Ralph's prices are much, much higher for worse quality and smaller portions. The only thing that seemed like it was a good deal was Kombuchas on sale...but once I got to the counter learned the price shown on the shelf required the downloading of an app, the linking of online accounts to other accounts, and an incredibly confusing time-consuming process that in the end GLITCHED and didn't even work! Long story short, I will be making sure to leave earlier and drive the extra miles to continue to go to Trader Joe's instead.

The hot (and not-so-hot) offerings, the sushi, and the olive bar were all great too. Then we all knew the shine wouldn't last--like smoke and mirrors--and sure enough, it did fade. The salad bar and "warm food" are usually just "okay." Honestly, it never feels truly hot, so calling it a "hot food bar" is kind of misleading. Sometimes it's fresher and healthier, but at other times it's not as good--more dried out, if you catch my drift. The other morning, I wanted a breakfast burrito. I had time, so I stopped in for coffee and only that--I figured since it had just opened, I should expect better. They had beautiful paper-wrapped breakfast sandwiches and burritos. I picked one up, and it felt light, which is what you want when you're hungry. Then I paid--do you go for the $12 option or the $25 double? I went with the $12 one. I opened the paper and found a microwave-style glob stuck to it. The potatoes were al dente, but not in a good way. It felt like there was more melted cheese than actual egg, and it was disappointing. It's frustrating because you'd think a company under the "Amazon empire" umbrella--especially one with questionable ethics--would still protect quality and staffing so the experience stays upscale. You know the "smut/smog layer" I'm talking about: once that shows up, you can feel the difference. Anyway, maybe Ralphs is similar, but I'll be avoiding that 1/3 of the store moving forward. I'll still do some of my produce and other shopping there, just not that section. I know I should've taken it to a manager, but it already seems they're well aware.
