Busy Trader Joe's location in the UWS.. been here once and not a very big store but lines are long at checkout so a bit hard to get items by the wall if you are not on that side of the checkout line. However, checkout process is smooth and does go fairly quick. When I am here, I pick up some spices, fresh salmon and veggies, and sometimes new items to try. Overall get here early if you need something and to avoid the peak hour crowds...they are stocked with every day items but the hot items go quick if you are looking for them (i.e. the mini tote bags). Bus stop is about few blocks away...street parking in the area is mostly paid parking. read more

Love Trader Joe's, especially this location is great! Compared to the 72nd St. & Broadway location, it's easier to shop in and line typically moves faster. During the pandemic, shopped mostly at Trader Joe's since my local Washington Heights grocers jacked up prices on staples, and preferred this one since it seemed to not be as packed with a huge line to get in. These days, mostly shop at the closer Trader Joe's Harlem store, but don't hesitate to shop here when I'm in the neighborhood. The staff are super friendly and the lines move fast! read more

Supermarkets are necessary but when it comes to Yogurt & Ice Cream Sandwiches, Trader Joe's is my go to! Unless you actually go to Greece, you can't get creamier, thick, true to flavor Greek Yogurt. So many flavors, even Eggnog & Pumpkin for the Holidays & the Mango doesn't have little thin pieces, it's actual nice size Mango chunks. The Cookies & Cream Ice Cream Sandwich is unbelievable! I won't buy it anywhere else. The supermarket is bright & clean & neat with choices of items you won't find in other places. The staff is extremely helpful, upbeat & friendly. No matter what city or state I am always have fast friendly service at Trader Joes. Their selection of fruits and veggies is always plentiful. I can always find a few inexpensive wines and Dutch cheese to compliment for appetizers. The store is typically festive during the holidays . Will come back when in the area. read more

This Trader Joe's definitely has all the products you'd typically find in any Trader Joe's. There are plenty of workers and each one I've interacted with was able to guide me to the product or the checkout line politely. The store can and does get very crowded during peak hours and days, Sunday evening for example, but that is expected! If possible, come in the morning to ensure food is fully stocked or when it's raining to avoid the rush of people. read more

Great and convenient UWS location-- come here if shopping at the 72nd St store is too crowded and hectic for you. While the store is busy, it is significantly less trafficked. It is also much easier to find the popular items that are usually out of stock or sold in limited quantities elsewhere, but don't tell everyone because I love its low-key vibes. I also like to come here on my way to Central Park a block away to pick up snacks for an impromptu picnic. My only complaint is that the flowers here are not very fresh. read more

Trader Joes is incredible if you know how to manage it. Yes, if you go on a Friday right after work, it will be massively crowded, although they do a great job of managing lines, but the best times to go are early in the morning. I usually go between 8-9am any day of the week, including weekends, and I have no issues. The food here is so unique and fun (I could live off their different frozen meals for weeks and never get bored). They also have so many incredible options for vegetarians and vegans. The prices are extremely reasonable. If I ever have to move away from a Trader Joes, it will be a sad day for me! read more

I love Trader Joe's, but I don't think I've ever been in a more chaotic grocery store than this one. I mean, there are people everywhere. I shop here on early Sunday mornings. I can't imagine how it gets in the afternoons. But because there are so many cashiers working, the line moves quickly. I read a few complaints about them running out of certain items, I have not encounter that situation yet. However, I think they have fewer items than many Trader Joe's across the country. This is a COVID-19 review which in no way reflects on my earlier reviews because not only is it a difficult time for shoppers and even more so the staff, Trader Joe's has preformed outstandingly. The hours are almost back to normal now (9pm) but when they first reduced the hours and I saw the line stretch around 2 corners of the block, I though it was the worst idea. But boy was I wrong. The line isn't as bad as you'd think because you're just so freakin' happy to be outside. Plus with the 6 feet (or way more) distancing, it really isn't as long as it looks. It's when you get inside that you see the sheer brilliance. Everything was fully stocked. That NEVER happened pre-COVID. Especially not on weekends. There was no checkout line. I've never been in and out of Trader Joe's so fast in my life. It was awesome! The fact that it took a deadly pandemic for it to happen sucks, but the experience was a bright spot in my now cloistered existence. I forgot twice that they were allowing the elderly to cut the line and I was behind a couple that could have just waltzed in if they had known. I've got a mere 15 years until that privilege kicks in for me. Whoo hoo! So if you see anyone with grey hair let them know. Except for Anderson Cooper, who I still can't believe is 52 YEARS OLD. What type of blood sacrifice does he have to make? So, thank you Trader Joe's staff for keeping us fed and stocked with fresh ground coffee. Civilization would literally collapse without you. The layout is good and easy to navigate most of the staff are friendly. However that all gets pushed to the side when you have one staff member that is crude and sometimes physical with customers. There's a staff member that wears a lot of piercings and accessories and unique clothes. This is all fine and I don't have a problem with that although it does look a bit peculiar. The real issue is that they are rude and crude. They intentionally impose on the customers and try to dominate them. One time they were running the line and I misheard the instructions and they pushed me hard from the back into the line. There was no reason to do that I was not going to touch anyone else I just moved into the wrong place. I did not say nothing but should have. I went to the store the following week and they intentionally got really close to the point of being in my face when pacing from behind me- startling me and did not say excuse me. It definitely appeared intentional as to be grimacing. I do not have anything against this person and most of the staff and cool and professional- I just don't like to be pushed around and I give them my business. read more

The last several times we've gone it's been absolutely bare bones. Trader Joe's so obviously needs to establish another uptown location, somewhere between 145-181. It's getting to the point where we wonder if this is still our favorite grocery store. What's the point of making the trek if they're never stocked? **this is clearly not a staffing issue. The staff here is lovely & hard working. But it's chaos here at all times because of lack of product and due to the staff trying their hardest to get inventory on the shelves. I love Trader Joe's, but this location is not it. The staff was extremely rude to my mother and I and the store is disorganized.

My kid went out last night and was at this TJ to look in the trash. There was this guy in the store named BITO and he threw several trash bags at her. She was standing between a tree fence and a stack of pellets so it was a tight space. He threw several bags at her where she was standing and she said: Stop, you are burying me. He called her a bitch and threw a lit cigarette at her. That was so dangerous her pants could of set on fire her yoga pants is synthetic material. As he was walking back to the garage she asked what's his name? He said: BITO my name is BITO and spelled it out with a big smile on his face like he was happy to make someone feel real small. I was very upset about this and if he treats people with such aggression he's got a mental illness. Something is wrong with him. read more

Great tiny location on Columbus and 93rd. Street. Very busy and much too small for the amount of people trying to shop,it should be literally 3 or 4 times bigger!! Avoid Fridays,Saturdays and Sundays by all means. Mondays shelves are almost bare so the days to shop are Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays early in the morning.... Quality is good and prices affordable for the great quality they sell ( if you can find anything!! ). Don't bother making a list,just buy whatever you can. Lots of items are always out like baguettes,arugula,most frozen ready pizzas, butter lettuce bags...etc...etc.. I was told to be there ate 8 A.M. opening time....I did and to my surprise none of those items were available several times I went at opening time.... People come from all over town to shop here. The staff is so friendly and accommodating almost to a fault. They'll bring or take you exactly there when you can't find something. Cashiers are warm,kind and super patient. So i came to trader joes today. I arrived at about 4:30 pm The line was long. I joined the line on 92nd street and Amsterdam. There were about 100+ people ahead of me. There were two lines one for shoppers who weren't senior citizens. The other was a line for senior citizens. The line was orderly and took me nearly 2 hours to get in the store. I was freezing but it ended up being worth it. An employee came out several times to let us on the line know we couldn't use our reusable bags, carts etc. They have good structure happening arrows to maintain orderly shopping etc. As per usual the staff were excellent Max cashed me out and was pleasant. I had 5 bags of food.i was struggling to say the least and an employee saved me in the rain and helped me get into my uber. I didn't get his name but he was great. My main concern coming to trader joes was the risk of interacting with someone with covid but the store was super clean they had a deep cleaning on Tuesday.all of the staff had on mask. Well i may have seen one person without one. The food was completely stocked which i thought there would be nothing left given the time I got there and long lines. They are on the restocking game. The Trader Joe's employees are some of the friendliest most helpful people I know. Shout out to Shameeka for being super helpful when I was on the hunt for cream cheese, alas after contacting 3 different Trader Joe's after going to this one, I was unsuccessful! My cashier was super friendly and wonderful and gave me a lollipop for my nephew. There was also a gentleman that was kind and helpful as well. I love Trader Joe, overall, but this location is really lacking. I don't know why they're so disorganized and why they can't seem to restock things in an organized way. I often go downtown to other locations that know how to keep their stock on the floor. I can't speak to overall rudeness, but upper west side shoppers are some of the most privileged people on earth - so maybe it's hard for the staff to handle I don't know. I gave this Trader Joe's 3 stars because they have lots in the way of groceries. I gave it that low rating for a few reasons. One, because it can be a madhouse! Especially if you are shopping with more than just yourself, or with children! The people there are set on getting from point A to point B and hopefully you're not in the middle! As you will become a bump in the road. They also only carry a small amount of some Trader Joe products, I.e.- Body butters, and other items of that sort. . Navigating this world is harder than I thought... First of all, for a girl - I don't complain much. But this... this just hits me in a spot that I didn't know was there. Two older women was going around the place so slow, like they were in a beautiful garden. TRUE: Trader Joe's is like a beautiful garden of heavenly things to eat, drink, and "preheat" - so I'll give them that. But if you can go around without a cane, a wheelchair, a walker, or a damn stretcher... then you can stand in line without cutting 50 people like we all are! Cause if it was the other way around, I bet those two ladies will look at the other people behind them and tap the person in front of them to get such sharp pitchforks ready and chase me away till the end of the line with embarrassment painted on my silly face. I mean, no offense to these women but... it looked like their hair just got blown dry and clothes so fashionable and crisp, it made the delish chips I got look stale. C'mon! A guy lookin' like his name was "Frank" was standing while holding an eight-foot-tall sign that reads "End of (fkng) Line." Those two ladies couldn't have missed that! They didn't have glasses on while reading the 8 point size font under "Ingredients." I'm in my 20's and I needed glasses. P.S. : Please don't prosecute me cause part of the review is unrelated to my adoration of Trader Joe's itself. However, in my defense, this sh*t did happen while I was in there so... This location is better than the TJs on 72nd because it is less crowded (its a bit of a walk from the train station). I like it though and they always seem to be in stock of what I need. The lines aren't too wild either. I've always had great customer service. The only complaint I have is that for ALL trader joes- the line system needs to be fixed where people arent standing in line and leaving to go shopping and coming back to their cart. Trader joes should learn from whole foods (love their set up). There is nothing more irritating than being behind someone who leaves for a few minutes to get something and the line moves way up and you are stuck behind this person's cart. Meh. Way too small of a space for a Trader Joe's. Just OK, but sub-par compared to their larger locations. There is nothing really special or standout about this place. The staff seemed nice and helpful. They carry many of the same items you will find in the bigger locations, just less of it. On a midweek evening it wasn't too crowded and the lines moved quickly. Picked up a few bags of the mixed nuts and trail mixes which I like, along with a few other food items. I guess it's good for this higher UWS neighborhood, but not really worth it to make a special trek here from the UES as most local supermarkets carry more of what you need close by. read more

I truly enjoy this location for a few different reasons. This TJ's is on the smaller side however carries around 95% of what I need. They are finally listening to customers who are tired of long lines and are adding new locations and the lines here are relatively short compared to Union Square or Chelsea. Why only 4 stars? Unless I missed something, nothing stood out as special about this Trader Joe's location. The same routine as most of their stores. The flowers are first, then fresh fruit and vegetables. The bread is in back with isles of refrigerator filled food. I may have missed something because I was with my daughter. I did find it compact since it's all on one street level floor. I easily found the nuts. I picked up a couple bags today just to get the feel for shopping here. Sales Associates are their typical gracious hosts. Cashier was very pleasant and professional also. The register was very slow processing my credit card. That was weird. I was waiting for it to be rejected it took so long. It finally approved my purchase with no signature required. The check out routine is a little different than I'm used to at my favorite location on 14th Street. You wait in three separate lines and then the first three customers in each line are moved up for the next three open registers. The first employee assisted with the customers in line, then another employee sends each customer to the appropriate register as it becomes available. It's still a hike to get here to shop. I either walk across the city blocks and Central Park or pay for the bus across. When I have shopping in this neighborhood at my other favorite stores I'll stop in and pick up a couple things at a time. I'm cutting back on so many nuts in my diet. I may not frequent TJ's as often as in the past. I do recommend this store if you live nearby. read more

This was such a peaceful, relaxing experience that I almost forgot I was at a Trader Joe's and on a Friday evening! It was almost therapeutic. I was able to leisurely walk through all the aisles without bumping into anyone's shopping cart, I took my time looking at all the interesting new products, reading labels etc. The crowd and even the checkout lines were very much under control. This may not be the most convenient location for me, but it will definitely be my to go location whenever I need to stock up on my favorite TJ goodies. read more

This is my go-to TJ's. I feel it's a bit easier to manage than the one on W 72nd and Broadway. I normally head to TJ's in the morning. There is usually a crowd but it isn't as busy as in the evenings. Things are usually stocked (or getting stocked) in the mornings. TJ's products are great, and their prices are great. What more can you ask for? Every staff member I have interacted with there has been awesome. read more
