I've never had to wait in line for more than 30 seconds. Parking is plentiful. Plus, their tofu is phenomenal and organic without the organic price. I love Trader Joe's.....everything except one pretty BIG detail. They are making the store kid friendly and inviting with child size shopping carts for our shopping helpers and enthusiasts, which is awesome!!! Here's the problem......kids also see the bells at each register that are placed perfectly at their height and eye level and since the shopping carts are for kids and they are "kids"......they assume, like I would, that the bells are also kid friendly and they gravitate to them to ring....... COOL, HUH? .......NOT!!!!!! My son was quickly scolded and told not to touch the bells in "not a very nice tone of voice" by a young girl who probably does not have kids of her own!!!! Why have fun-looking bells at every register at kids' eye level and height if they are not for kids to touch at all????? I'm a bit put off by management's decision to use that system.......and what are those bells for anyway??? -Thanks for listening!!!! and mother's beware!!! read more

I've had issues with this store last fall when buying their packaged produce and finding it rotten after I got home but i thought well they're not known fro produce anyway I'll just buy it elsewhere and I continued to shop for staples .Last week however I bit down a on a good size rock that was in the bottom of a jar of Trader Joes almond butter. When I notified the management they said I had to bring in the rock so they could send it to headquarters and fill out a form and the manager was all rah rah this is how we can help you help us make this a better place and I was like are you kidding I'm not going to risk buying food that has rocks in it and she got all smarmy and said I'm sorry like she thought I was making it up. Recession dictates I'll probably have to continue to shop here but I'm going to be very careful.I have a friend who got food poisoning after eating prepared food at this location .I've always loved Trader Joes and just moved to this area,maybe it's just this store that has issues read more

Came here yesterday for some light shopping. I needed to use the bathroom terribly, I told my partner to hang out with the baby and groceries. As I waited I read some info in the hallway showing how they donate food to the Oak Park pantry. As soon as a bathroom was open I ran in, passing a morbidly obese man with urine dripping from his pants (the crotch area) to my dismay I was horrified...... He had urinated and poohed all over the seat, there was no way I could do anything but just wash my hands and hope I make it home. The man was waiting outside and yelled at me "I didn't do that, ya hear!!!" I was so nervous I almost ran into a wall! The 5 stars goes to the brave young man with the glasses on that promptly went in and cleaned it up.... Wow I don't know what you make but regardless you need a raise!! I wanted to say something to you but instead grabbed my baby ran out of the store and left my partner to pay for our groceries. read more

I had the best grocery shopping experience I could imagine at this Trader Joe's today. Searching for and choosing my food for the week was normal, but my checkout experience was phenomenal! I had loaded my hand-held basket up with delicious things and it was pretty full. As soon as I walked up to the register the cashier told me to take a load off and put my basket down as he finished with another customer. When it was my turn to be checked out the cashier asked how I was and I explained that I was "tired as..." after a long day at the office. We went on to chat a little about what I do. As the cashier finished ringing me up and I had started to pay he stepped away from the register momentarily. When he came back he held a beautiful winter flower bouquet, put it in my bag, and told me that I worked too hard. It took everything in me not to burst into tears right there. He really made my day! I'm upset with myself that I didn't check out his name tag but if you see this Awesome Man Who Gave Me Flowers on a Crappy Day, thank you sooooo very much. You're the reason why I'll keep shopping at Trader's!! read more

I really like this location. Friendly staff, not far from me, cheaper than Whole Foods with not un-comparable selections! I've actually been going to Trader Joe's since I was in college in Fullerton, CA. back in the 1980's. Admittedly back in the day way back when it was for their bargain wines when I'd buy 3 bottles and one might end up being vinegar, but I've since come to appreciate the fact that their food selection is so top notch! Great selection of frozen entrees and other items. I myself have found them to be hit or miss on that point, but have found the staff to be very responsive and offered a refund on anything I am unsatisfied with. So points for that. Certainly better than the other close by chain stores (and I am not a fan of chains). Wished I lived closer! Parking can be a little crazy, just have to time it right I guess. read more

This Trader Joe's is set up a little different than the ones I have previously been to. However it is conveniently located and easy to find. The parking in the back is minimal, but there is a parking garage that has 'Customer Only Parking' spots with easy to follow signs to guide you where you need to be. They had everything I needed and the workers are always super friendly and as helpful as possible. I love their black bean dip, Reduced Guilt guacamole and their seasonal items. My new favorite place to shop grocery. Very clean and organized, great parking. and just down the street from my new job.

I love this store. The prices and products offered kicks the nearby Whole Foods butt a hundred times over. Most importantly, the employees are way nicer and way more helpful than the rude and surly Whole Foods employees. The store is clean, the prices are cheap and the quality is second to none. I only have one complaint and that is the lack of parking. It's not usually a problem because I try to shop when it's not busy now but it would be nice to have ample parking. read more

i like the shade of the parking the store itself and the people this trader joes doesnt have the pizzazz that the one in lagrange has i fell in love with that store and the people the people at the oak park store seem tired unfriendly...it doesnt seem to have as much merchandise and i 'm not impressed with the layout either...something is missing in the oak park store.... read more
