One thing I always notice when I go to any Trader Joe's is the age diversity of their employees. One of the few businesses I see that has checkers anywhere from their twenties to even late seventies or early eighties. Parking lot for this West San Jose store is a bit chaotic as the spots are smaller. Not as bad as the San Carlos Trader Joe's but close. Next time I'll probably park farther out to avoid all the car/pedestrian activity. Once inside, it's a very good Trader Joe's as you'd expect. The plain whole milk yogurt is the best deal you'll find for the quality after Whole Foods raised their price by almost 2 bucks. Also can't beat the white cheddar popcorn at 1.99. For quick frozen meals, the family style lasagna is perfect and affordable. Also good are the fish nuggets and the spaghetti bolognese made in Canada. You can save a whole lot of money here versus eating out, since there's no tax or service charge on groceries. read more

I don't usually shop in West San Jose, but I was visiting someone nearby, so I gave this location of Trader Joe's a shot after not finding what I was looking for at a different location. This Trader Joe's is bigger than the one on Blossom HIll. This one had two frozen food isles, which was exactly what I needed, because I found what I was looking for. I wanted to get the frozen Langostino tails to make that viral pasta dish with lobster bisque. Have you seen that? You start with Trader Joe's lobster bisque, langostino tails, onion, tomato, garlic, spinach, & lemon. It was a good weeknight recipe. Anyhoo, while I was there, I also grabbed bags of the frozen pork XLB and Chicken Soup Dumplings. I heard favorable reviews of those, so I gave them a try. The directions said I could steam or microwave them. Since I was so hungry by the time I got home, I zapped them in the microwave and dipped them in homemade black vinegar & fresh ginger. I was impressed! I definitely preferred the pork version, but both were a great deal. The package of 6 was only $3.49, so each dumpling was only 58 cents. DEFINITELY worth it. Oh-I also saw this location had frozen Kouign Amann. I totally would've grabbed a box to try, but I had literally just made a batch from scratch the week before. Next time. The West SJ location has better parking than the one on B.Hill and the larger size helped me be successful finding the ingredients I needed to make the viral pasta recipe. If you're out in West SJ, I highly recommend you go to Trader Joe's. read more

This store is part of my weekly rotation. Their USP is quirky selection of snacks and unique spread of frozen foods covering a global palette. What I also love getting here are their flowers. The flowers are reasonably priced and last a while. They have a limited plant selection as well which tends to sell out fast, so grab your favorites before they disappear. Not everything you get here might be a hit but the ones that do work out for us tend to become weekly favorites. Crispy jalapeno pieces, umami powder, crunchy chilli oil, bruschetta, chicken tikka samosas are our absolute favorites. read more

This is my favorite TJ's location in the South Bay. They are usually well-stocked and their team is a little nicer than most locations. Size-wise, they are much bigger than Los Gatos or Campbell, but are less crowded than San Jose. I always stock up of my floral arrangements there because of the price and quality. And if you're not into DYI, their bouquets are lovely. Another obsession of mine is their Nothing but the bartender marg. They taste like their freshly squeezed counterparts and have enough booze in one can to give you a nice buzz. My husband gets slightly annoyed that I talk about another man has so often. This location is the closest to my work and I often come grab groceries before heading home. The store is clean, items are neatly stocked and the workers are friendly. I have usually been able to come grab whatever I need and head back out within 30 mins or so. The parking can get crowded at times, especially at peak after work hours (between 5-7), but it (currently) doesn't get too bad and you can find parking a bit further away if needed. When new stores go back into the old vacant buildings, parking might get trickier - but for now - it works. read more

Today I was in a terrible rush and I paid for rushing later when I realized I forgotten at least three items by the time I walked back to the car. Of course I was also distracted by the kitchen supplies. I usually skip this entirely. It's interesting but TJ has stocked some of the most basic/essential some oddly hard to find and left out the froufrou. Normally, I'd buy this stuff from Amazon or Costco, but hey 20 years ago I bought the same items from TJ wore them out, tried Costco (way too much) and now I'm back. I tried the reusable silicon bags on a whim. The bags seemed heavy but there was no way to be certain in the package. I was very pleasantly surprised. These are the heaviest silicon bags I've ever encountered. I'm expecting these to last for years as long as I don't stress the seams. If all goes well I expect I'll need to stock up, I have plenty of uses for these. I've had enough time to discover smelly foods cling to silicon.. The onion odor was strong enough to ruin any food stored in the bag. Washing with baking soda and vinegar didn't make a dent. Luckily Wirecutter has an article. Bake at 250 deg F for at least 20-40 minutes. Works like a charm and the bag was not damaged. Be cautious about baking reusable bags. Make sure they are pure silicone. Otherwise they might melt. read more

This is a solid Trader Joe's. I usually come by for the specialty snacks and frozen food items that help make meal times a breeze. Parking is usually decent. There's more space for shoppers ever since the other two stores (Goodwill and Smart & Final) in the same plaza shut down. I've had issues purchasing meat from Trader Joe's. Once was a steak and once was chicken that smelled awful once opened at home. I brought the packages back and they were graceful to process a return. The veggies and fruits I've purchased here have been relatively fine. I will mainly avoid fresh meats here. The European yogurts are also tasty. Breads tend to mold quickly so I haven't been purchasing those as much. For frozen food items, their fried rice and pot stickers are always good. Cashiers are usually pretty nice and chill all the times I've shopped. They also pass out stickers to kiddos at checkout. read more

It was a few minutes before closing; doing last minute shopping of fresh seafood pre-New Years Eve. My wife overheard a couple of crew members mocking a South Asian customer's pronounciation of "onion". An older crew member said nothing; no rebuke of the inappropriate behavior. THIS LOCATION RIPS PEOPLE OFF FOR EVERY PENNY! I was getting groceries for my Mom with her EBT card while she waited in the car. At checkout, the cashier, who was rude from the start, tells me it's 10 cents for a bag. I know that with EBT, bags are supposed to be free. (Senate Bill 270 and Proposition 67) I've been doing this for 6 years and never once got charged. So, I call him out on it, politely but firmly. Instead of solving the issue, he immediately says "do you want me to call the manager?" to which i replied to "yes". Now I know the usual manager there who is Robert and is in every way an amazing manager, but this was some new shaved head guy with a shaved head who tells me I have to pay without any real explanation. I explain that by California law (Senate Bill 270 and Proposition 67), you don't. I even show him the law. Instead of doing the smart thing and backing down, he doubles down and argues. Again, it's not about the 10 cents. It's about principle. If you take an extra 10 cents from enough elderly or low-income people each day, that adds up. That's not just bad business, it's unethical. So, to the new manager who decided to argue with a customer in front of other customers, instead of listening: under California law, specifically Senate Bill 270 and Proposition 67, stores are required to provide a free reusable or recycled paper bag to customers using an EBT or WIC card. Was it really worth arguing over, and making yourself look bad in front of customers? read more

Very disappointed with the service I had received today by the very old man named "Raul". When I had first approached the register he was working at, he had given me a smug look but I had assumed he had just smelled his bad breath. Once it was my turn to check out, he didn't ask me how my shopping was or how my day was, I'm assuming he has dementia and forgot how customer service works. When it came to payment I tried to do a split payment and he gave me back my bill and said "that's not enough" Listen Raul, in 2025 there's a new thing called SPLIT PAYMENT. The oddly placed stop signs on the way towards prospect that make turning and trying to get out a complete nightmare. By far my favorite location in the area. It's not cramped like Pruneyard or LG. It's always clean and well stocked. The employees make you feel like you showed up to your local bar. Their service is always awesome. They have a very large variety of food, compared to stores in the area. The parking can be a little tricky, there's enough room but people just tend to forget how to drive in the South Bay ‍. Maybe it's the 4 way stop that confuses them? Trader Joes carries some unique itens that you won't be able to find anywhere else. Sometimes they're seasonal like the chicken skewers that included some sauce with it on the side. Omg, those were incredibly tender & delicious! They should make that a permanent item! The prices for most items are reasonable too. And the employees are nice as well. My favorite items there are: The Thai cashews. They're so good! Get those or the Thai spiced almonds if you like Thai flavored food! The tamari soy flavored rice crackers & the chimchurri rice (often located at the end of the aisle). Then there's the Trader Joes garlic dip which is delicious too! The mini chicken cilantro dumplings are good too. For vegans or people who are trying to eat less meat, trt the meatless beef bulgogi in the frozen aisle. Those Indian rectangular patties are very good too. The toilet paper here is cheaper than it is at most places too. It only cost $4.99 or $5.99 for 6 or 8 rolls I think. In the bread aisle, try the crumpets. They're better than English muffins & only 90 calories a piece. The parking lot in this area is always full. It's f you park further away by Dominos pizza, you'll be able to find a parking spot easily though. read more

Parking isn't a shit show, and check out was smooth sailing. The parking lot is huge, so you don't feel like you're in Super Mario Cart (Bollinger location is like Mario Cart). They also have a lot of check out lanes, and for every cashier there is a designated bagger for that particular cashier. No sharing baggers = no long lines, which means getting people out faster. It also wasn't crowded in there at all, and no lines. I'm more than happy to drive that 2.5 miles for the convenience of things. Also they have CLEAN unisex bathrooms. They are also rated a 97/100 in health. Bollinger was rated a 86/100.... Out of all the Trader Joe's in a 10 mile radius from Bollinger... every single one of them scored over a 90 in health, except for Bollinger. read more

I've shopped here since they opened, but one day in 2025, a cashier treated me with shocking disrespect. She threw my groceries, let my meat fall on the floor (hygiene?), and only picked it up after scanning everything. She was visibly angry, with red spots all over her face. The person behind me looked very uncomfortable seeing how furious and out of control she was; not just with me, but also with the customer before me. I told the manager, and all he said was, "Do you want another meat?" No apology. She still works there. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. read more

My elderly mother called me and was completely distraught over her experience at this Trader Joe's today. SHANE (one of the workers) was incredibly rude and condescending, harassing her by her car. She owns a Tesla and had her dog in the car with dog mode on, which leaves the car at a comfortable temperature while she ran in to grab a few things. Anyone living in this day and age knows that Tesla has a dog safe mode built into the cars. My mom left the store after grabbing her groceries, and Shane was outside lingering by her car, harassing not only her, but her dog, while yelling at everyone who walked by, telling them that she is a horrible dog owner. He gave my mothers dog so much anxiety to the point where he started barking at him non stop. Completely ruined her day. Spoke with the manager after and he was apologetic. We will never be returning to this Trader Joe's ever again as long as Shane is working there. If it wasn't a Tesla with dog mode on I would understand concern for the health of a dog. There is a way to be concerned for a dog in a car, and this young, ill-informed, degenerate employee clearly has zero respect for their customers, especially elderly women. read more

This is one of my favorite Trader Joe's in the South Bay. Parking here isn't difficult. The store itself is clean, neatly organized, and always stocked. I find the employees at this particular TJ's are especially super friendly too. This also happens to be the only Trader Joe's I've been to where they have an accessible motorized cart every single time I've come, maybe it's perfect timing -- either way, I really appreciate it. The cart is always charged so I never have to worry about if the battery is going to last my entire shopping trip or not. Employees also take the initiative to ask me if there's something I can't reach that they can grab for me as I'm passing by in the aisle. Food is great here too -- I've often times found myself asking employees if there's anything they suggest I try and they have yet to disappoint. read more

Every time I've gone to this particular Trader Joe's although the parking lot is a bit confusing, everything is very well organized and properly in its place. There's always a number of employees organizing/putting out new inventory and they've asked me on numerous accounts if I need help looking for anything, so they are very attentive. everything is well taken care of and they have a wide selection of food and allergy related things. Pretty solid Trader Joe's! It feels like it's larger inside than it looks outside. I came by to grab some dinner supplies and I got to see all the beautiful assortments for Christmas! I had to grab dinner but just couldn't help but take a peek at the peppermint flavored goodies and gingerbread cookies. My visit was really quick, I grabbed just what I needed and I noticed that every shelf was nice and full with clear labels too. It was surprising that even with how busy it is here, everything was routinely stocked and neat. I was able to get in line pretty quickly too since every register was open. The staff here were really nice and it was a nice process. Parking can be a bit tough depending when you arrive, but the inside of the store is much more bearable than you'd think. The good: This TJs is larger than most other locations. It has a larger parking lot and has aisles that are more spacious as well. The cashier I interacted with here was very friendly. I got lots of fun snacks here for a snack caddy housewarming gift I was making. Every Trader Joes snack/food item is a win. It is hard for TJs to disappoint. I love that they are constantly adding new and fun snacks. All of their food is unique and is mostly moderately priced. I like their inclusion of many international cuisines/snacks. The bad: Their protein bars are sold individually and are on the pricier side. The interesting: Supposedly, every TJs has a hidden plastic lobster toy. I didn't find it at this one but I will keep my eyes peeled next time. read more

I always feel giddy after doing grocery shopping at Trader Joes. The produce are always fresh plus they have a wide selection of organic foodstuff.  I love their ready-to-eat section. The people who work there are very pleasant and helpful. The only downside (I guess with all other branches) is the long line to the cashier.
