I am a bit biased, as my husband works at this store, but he's also worked at others, so perhaps I'm not. This store has the friendliest staff and is the best run store of those in the area. It has the worst parking lot, however, and I recommend, if you are able to walk a bit, to park on De La Vina or Samarkand. Be aware of street sweeping in the Samarkand neighborhood, though. By the way, I've never seen a grocery store with more of a 'scene'. This is a great people watching spot. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star is parking is tough. Great store, plenty of parking spots. Not crowded at all. Beautiful flowers, fresh everything. My to go grocery store.

Good selection of food and wine at great prices. Tough to get used to the packaging if you're used to "brand names". Most items are of equal or better quality though. You probably won't find everything you need but most of the essential foodstuffs are there. Store can get a little crowded at times, usually because the stores are small and popular. Parking is a PITA at the Santa Barbara/Goleta locations during peak times - De la Vina location seems best. Staff is always helpful and pleasant. Free coffee, too! read more

Parking situation is a nightmare. But I love Trader Joes so much I don't care

I know I have a pretty sad existence when I end up going to Trader Joes almost every day to make me feel lively. Not just any Trader Joes, but this particular location. If one wanted to stalk me, I'd say just be there around 8:30-8:50 (they close at 9 and I panic that I'll miss out on scoring something right before they close. You know what I like about this Trader Joes? They put in a little extra hussle with their free samples. Some places, they'll heat up one of their pizzas or whatever, and just cut that up. This place, takes a bread and other stuff and makes a pizza with it and hands that shit out. They get creative and shit. I do miss when they gave out cookies too (it went good with the coffee sample), but they don't do that anymore. Parking can be a little uncomfortable, but then, is there a Trader Joe's that doesn't suffer from that? I've definitely seen worse. Some days are better than others. One of the best things about any Trader Joes? You can get shit pretty cheap and feel like you're eating a little exotic. I dig their frozen Indian shit with the Garlic Bread. Is it just me or are they just constantly restocking the store? It seems like there isn't time where there isn't a handfull of workers just putting stuff up. I guess they just have that good of a turn around time. Anyhoo, I'll see you tomorrow (most likely), Trader Joes. Keep a bottle of your cheapest Chardonnay and a chocolate bar with hazelnuts ready for me. read more

This store seems to be less stocked than other locations. Maybe I've just came at bad times. I've also noticed less employees on the sales floor. The parking SUCKs but that's to he expected at any TJs. Staff is always friendly and I enjoy shopping here when I want to pick up a few things but don't want to spend a ton of time chatting (I work at another locations) so it's never fast picking up food at my store. read more

I really like this store but for the parking and the fact that they don't sell ice. You'd have had 5 Stars except that while you have ample space in your lot -- IT IS SO PATHETICALLY LAID-OUT THAT ONE DOLT OR STONER CAN JAM UP THE WHOLE PLACE (and usually does). At minimum, get rid of the "planters" at the ends of the rows and create a thru-way to the rear portion of the lot. To be quite honest, the manager should be fired for letting this fixable issue fester for so long. read more

The Beer and Wine at TJ's on Milpas is by far their strongest product for quality, selection and price. Located now up Milpas St, at the corner of Montecito St. it's much roomier both in the parking lot and in the store. Fresh Pork and Chicken is excellent and at good prices. The Beef is not to my liking. I try to avoid most fresh packaged produce due to it being several days old. I do buy Bananas, fresh berries, apples and potatoes, but I'm more inclined to shop at Tri Co. Produce for fresh greens where it's really fresh. TJ's frozen food is iffy with a few exceptions (Indian Food and Tortelloni). Dairy is excellent and well priced. Overall, TJ's is a great store for what I need and the staff are really the best part of the experience. read more

My 5 out of 5 reviews are rare. TJ's backs up its products, is cheerful at the register and in the face of returns, carries a very good variety of products, plies shoppers with free tidbits and Motown music, and the total at the register usually is LESS than expected instead of more. read more

Love love love trader joes. Everything is a great price and I love everything I buy. It's high quality, delicious and the customer service is outstanding. The people here are so nice and friendly, and always willing to help you out. They give out great samples, from which I've gotten a couple of meal ideas from. This particular Trader Joe's and Tri County are my favorite places to shop for groceries. The staff is always friendly, and their selection is excellent. Their alcohol is actually really well priced and well as everything else. If you go during peek hours, parking in their lot can be a pain, but it's not to bad most of the time. They have a wide variety of .... EVERYTHING. And they always have a "low fat" or some sort options on their cheeses and meats, non gluten and everything for the health freaks. read more

I simply LOVE this store! If I go in there in a half-dull mood, I always come out feeling great. Each staff member, and the manager Christian are awesome folks. You couldn't ask for more giving, helpful staff, and they're always seeking you out to see if they can give you assistance in any way at all. In fact, I hope to work there one day soon. DON'T BUY THEIR BRAND ALMOND BUTTER. It is so thin and runny you need to use a spoon to get it onto the bread. As with all products they want to monopolize, TJ initially sold a good brand at a good price, then phased it out with their own exclusive substitute. If profit is the motive, then fewer almonds and more oil might accomplish that -- except that runny, watery almond butter takes twice as long to use up so they're selling half as many jars! read more
