I wen to Trade Winds Inflatables a couple weeks ago looking for a 10' rib with a 15 hp motor. I was greeted by Ed Williams who took me around and explained to me my different options. I decided on a 10'2 Achilles with a 15 hp Honda. The price was fair, the service excellent and it was agreed that Jim would deliver my boat a couple days later ( at no charge) at my Marina since I don't have a trailer. As the specified time, Jim was there, on time with my brand new boat, he attached two free dock lines, make sure I was comfortable with operating the motor, and stayed with me until I was on my way. He told me that as soon as I obtain my registration number, he would be back to affix them to the boat. Again, he was there n time, with a smile and very quickly and professionally affixed the year sticker with super glue (the CF stickers don't stick very well to Hypalon) and the registration. I was missing the engine manual at delivery and one phone call to Ed corrected that. I am very pleased with the quality of service I received from Ed and Jim and will definitively take my boat there for service. Don't let the busy parking lot worry you, ( there are a lot of boats out there) they could use a bigger lot but they are good people providing a great customer service and offering fair prices and free delivery. Horrible customer service. They had my boat for 3 months for a stalling concern and could not fix it. I picked it up after 3 months and fuel tank shut off valve was snapped off the fuel tank, quick fuel disconnect on fuel line for the outboard was missing, instrument panel was loose and missing all screws, bait tank hoses were all disconnected, battery was not in the tray, battery hold Down was missing and wires everywhere. Even the trailer safety chain hooks were missing. The boat was a mess when I picked it up in much worse shape then when I dropped it off. They were very hard to get ahold of never responding to 1 email. The last thing they told me when I picked up the boat was "if we can't fix it nobody can you should replace your fuel tank, engine and all electronics and that should take care of it" read more

IF it is great, one on one serve ,great deals and honesty you want in an inflatable boat this is the best place I have found in the state and outside, to get it, if you got a piece of S___t dingy and you want to try and fix it they will tell you what you got and how much $ you will waste but will bust they're butts to fix it and do it right the first time to boot, no hard sells here, they really want your business and want you to come back in 10 or so years to buy something else from them and they want you to tell your friends how good they are too, sure beats the hell out of westmarine, I tell ya. I contacted Tradewinds Inflatables because I was in a bind trying to get my dinghy motor serviced in time for my weekend getaway which was important for me and my party, much to my surprised they had my dinghy motor repaired and ready to go, their entire staff was very efficient on how they handle it from start to finish including picking it up at dockside and delivering it to me a couple of days earlier than expected. These guys make used car salesman look like choir boys. They fed me with a bunch of "we want to be your long term advisory" sales talk, showed me a used inflatable/engine and gave me a verbal quote. Once I wanted to buy they jacked up the price by 20% on a hard quote. When I questioned them on it, they didnt return emails or phone calls. I was disappointed. On a positive note, they do have a great inventory. Just have to watch their shell game. read more

Moved from OC to LA County and found that there are no dealers in comparison to tradewinds in my area. I was able to find exactly what we were looking for which was an AB 12DLX in white with a 40 hp Yamaha all in stock! When I walked in their showroom I was amazed by there selection of boats. They just delivered my inflatable to my dock today and it looks GREAT! These guys will bend over backwards to deliver quality service. They back up all there work with a shop warranty, they are honest, hardworking, and they never try to nickel and dime you. When purchasing a boat from them you can expect a fair price. One should also note, as well as being a dealer they are also an outboard and inflatable repair shop (all amazing technicians) so, at times (especially peak boating seasons) that place is packed with boats and outboards in for repairs, don't mistake them for possible inventory, or the establishments lack of organization. They have an amazing selection of inventory and their team is extremely knowledgeable they stand behind all there work 100%. It is also very busy at times, but a bit of patience will yield amazing, dependable, and always honest customer service. Tradewind Inflatables has been my "go to" marine shop for over 10 yrs. I've had boats with 25hp Honda and another one with a 150 Yamaha. John & Ken made sure my service and repairs were completed on time at or very close to the estimated costs prior to working on them. Once I had an issue with ignition on the 25hp that I thought I could fix, I messed around with that thing for over 10 hrs and it would still cut out. I took it to John and within 15 minutes he had it diagnosed. 15 minutes later she was up and running with the new parts installed in his test tank, he said "I want to let it run a while just to make sure you won't have to bring it back". That is quality customer service! Instances like that are why I purchased my new Honda 225 from them less than a year ago. I have over 700 hrs on her already and it's running better than new. Best part about dropping it off for scheduled maintenance is when I suggest something to John and he says "Don't worry, I check every motor out like they are my own, she's in good hands". This feeling of comfort is very important to me considering I regularly run my skiff out to San Clemente & Santa Barbra Islands. My first introduction to Tradewind was 3 years ago when a friend drove from San Diego to purchase a new 12 foot dinghy. I met my friend at the store in Santa Ana and asked him why he made the long drive. There are plenty of dinghy dealers in San Diego. He said simply "I got the very best deal here". Oddly enough I was in the market for a 20 hp Yamaha for my 10 foot dinghy. I knew the market price points well. Ken and Ed sold me the new previous year 20 hp Yamaha at a smoking price. Most recently I was in the market for a 14 foot Novurania. I stopped by Tradewind and Ken took 30 minutes to walk me around their large inventory of used dinghys. I had studied this market for over 6 months. We located the right dinghy on the lot and struck a deal quickly. They prepped the dinghy way beyond what was negotiated.
