First, I just want to take a moment to brag on Mr. Nathaniel Rogers, service director at Mike…read moreJohnson Hickory Toyota, who delivers to his customers what I refer to as, Chick-Fil A customer service; I think it safe to say that not many fast-food restaurants come close to exemplifying such exceptional customer satisfactory! Nathaniel is an honest man with good candor and integrity. His pragmatic approach allows very little room for biased decisions when dealing with complex situations. Throughout my service experience, he was very informative (keeping me updated and in the loop) responsive, and punctual. I felt heard, understood, and like a part of his Toyota family! I have been a proud Toyota owner for almost 20 years now; I've visited many other Toyota dealerships from Statesville to Charlotte. However, for the past 4 years, Mike Johnson has exceeded my expectations! The staff are always kind, and the waiting area is always clean and feels very warm and inviting. The environment makes the wait not feel daunting. Taking your car in for service can be a bit stressful at times, especially when the technicians come to you at every visit with a long list of needed services, with a few that you kindly decline, only to have them come back a second time with an additional service that you need, causing you to feel pressured and overwhelmed. I have never felt that way at Mike Johnson Toyota, I don't feel like I'm being bamboozled, I know that I can trust that if my tech. I will continue to return for services and will continue referring family and friends for any auto needs! A huge thanks to Andy, Nathaniel, and all staff at Mike Johnson Hickory Toyota, for always going above and beyond to make their customers feel appreciated!

If I could give zero stars, I would. I paid $36,000 cash for a truck from this dealership, and the…read moretransmission failed just 31 days after purchase. That is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the quality and inspection of the vehicles they sell. A major component like a transmission does not just fail overnight without warning. This makes me question whether the dealership knew about the issue or failed to properly inspect the vehicle before selling it. Now I'm stuck facing thousands of dollars in repairs on a truck I just bought. I trusted this dealership and feel completely let down. Spending this much money, only to have the vehicle become unreliable almost immediately, has been a terrible and stressful experience. I strongly encourage anyone considering buying from here to be extremely cautious and have any vehicle independently inspected before purchasing.

I truley believe Michs buys vehicles that have alot of issues, they put some "lipstick" on it and then they sell it. Shortly after you buy it, everything starts going wrong. They do offer a warranty. However, it typically does not cover whatever your vehicles issues are. At this point my best option is to park the POS and pay down on it until I can trade it. I will never deal with Michs again. Our 2019 740i has had over $13k in repairs since it was bought 6 months ago. That is not an exaggeration. If you buy a car from them, I would suggest at minimum looking at the CARFAX, and then take it to a trusted mechanic and have them go over it, before you buy (something my dumbass didnt do). Michs has a great setup, they make money from selling you a car, then make even more money from fixing it! Hell of a business model. Time to call the BBB.

From my research they have the best out the door price with a 299.99 Doc fee. I had found these fees to be in excess of 800.00. So you have to know what to add for your out the door price at any dealer. In the first week I found some mechanical issues that I wanted addressed. The service department was first rate in communications and addressing my major issues at no charge. I would have given 5 stars but for one practice I disagree with and am having to handle myself. If a remote (key fob) was lost by the previous owner it becomes your loss. They will provide one key fob and one extra key. All new cars come standard with two fobs and in the case of the truck it is the only way to use remote start. It will most likely cost in the range of 200.00 to get a remote for my wife. This practice puzzles me because they addressed much larger problems with a smile. Ask before you sign the papers how many key fobs the vehicle has because it may have only one. I hope they change this practice, sometimes it's the small things that could easily be addressed that bother you. I would buy another Car at Carmax in Hickory.

I was selling my car that was registered and titled in my trust, and had ALL of the legally required documents per NC statute and required by NCDMV. They declined to by it as they said I needed to show them the entire trust. Funny, Hickory Toyota had no problem buying my car and changing the title using the same exact documents I presented to Carmax. Do not go to Carmax, go to Mike Johnson's Hickory Toyota (a Carmax participant) first and save yourself time and frustration. They offer the same if not better price for your vehicle.
