Some old guy there doesn't like bass or people who have subwoofers in the trunk. Had $1000 for new subs, I have a box and amp in the car just wanted JL subs for years. Old bro talked to me like I shat on the floor and rolled in it, telling me my car doesn't need 2 12s my amp won't handle it (fosgate power series T1000). JL w3 12s are 500 watt subs 500x2 is 1000 the same amount of watts my amp puts out. Now the box specs, old head without even looking at my box said "it's not big enough" but I designed it in winisd and it's 3.5 cubes for 2 12s. JL w3 box specs for for the 12s in ported box are 1.75 cubic feet per sub now old guy stay with me here. 1.75 multiply it by 2 you get 3.5 the same amount of cubic feet I have in my box that in my car that you say is too small. Sometimes just stfu and take the money I had to purchase fosgate subs from performance auto sound BUT they simply sold me what I said I want and I left happy. I haven't been back to traffic jams they would rather let the old dog growl at me when all I wanted was the JL subs I thought were cool. Now to me JL is just associating a brand with worthless old dude who wanna argue and lose money. read more

We did a fair amount of shopping around for a competent installer for a high end dash cam system we'd selected, in a new car with a lot of electronics already in it. They did try to low key coax us into buying a dash cam system they were selling. We said no and they didn't push it. They did an excellent job. Everything works exactly as expected and the car is fine. They're not the cheapest but they knew what they were doing which is priceless. Bonus if you choose to wait their waiting area has a movie theater. We highly recommend this business. read more

Wow, Mark at Traffic Jams in Kennewick could have sold us a $599 (or more expensive) navigation system, but instead he took the time to ask us questions and even went out to our truck and diagnosed the problem. I recently had a radio reinstalled after taking it out to do some rewiring in my 85 Chevy truck. They took an hour and a half to complete the job and charged me $180. When I left the shop it didn't take me long to notice that my air conditioner was blowing HOT air. I turned around and went back. They said OOPS, my bad and took the truck back to plug in the AC controller they had disconnected. I tried to tell them that the temp control lever didn't feel right. It felt like it wasn't connected. They poo pood that and said everything was good. I went home and pulled the AC control panel and sure enough the lever wasn't connected properly. I fixed it and went back to tell them about but they didn't care. Now the lever cable attachment is broken and I have a new one on order for $30. Bottom line... I won't be using them again. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I went there for an ignition interlock in my car. They were rude, demanding and in the end, I called lifesafer and asked to be let out of my contract. They asked me to go across town to another provider ( Street Vibz in Pasco) and told me if I had problems there, they would waive the uninstall fee. I am glad that I did. #1) They took over 2 hours to install the unit, it takes people that know what they are doing about 35 minutes. #2) They have an employee that will treat you like crap, he may be a great installer, but he is a lousy person. #3) They are incredibly un informed about the Washington state interlock laws. They told me that they could not program the warm up feature because it is "illegal" most likely, they couldn't program it because they are incompetent? Go anywhere other than Traffic Jams if you need an interlock in your car. read more

They installed my televisions and had no clue what they were doing. They hooked up an old fire stick that was nonfunctional. I asked them about it when I ordered the new fire stick and they denied it. They didn't hook up my fire stick that was functional on my other television correctly either. Overpriced and inexperienced. Would not even give them one star. read more

I called this place NUMEROUS times looking for help. First time I talked to someone, let him know that I bought a new home and was going to be putting a $5-10,000 surround sound system in my living room and needed/wanted a pro install. He let me know that he would have someone call me back... didn't happen. So I called again thinking "maybe they were swamped. I leave a similar message in hopes that someone would call me back... NOPE! Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I can't believe that you can call a COMPANY and say "HEY... I want to spend $10,000 dollars at your store!!!" And they just give you the silent treatment. Fine by me... someone else got my business, my loyalty and my $$$. read more

Traffic Jams is a gem in the midst of the electronic mediocrity that I have experienced in the Tri-Cities. They tackled a mess created by some combination of television system installers and fixed everything. They not only fixed the problems created before they got here, they updated and renovated a system that was essentially antiquated when it was installed nine years ago. The owner and the technicians were knowledgeable and absolutely professional. Not only was the work, extensive as it was, done in a timely manner, appointments were kept on time - something that has nearly disappeared from our recent society. And then the bill arrived and it was totally reasonable - this despite us being completely at their mercy, since it had become obvious they were the one business with the knowledge and skill necessary to address our myriad issues. I have a 1996 Toyota T100 for my son who is starting college in need of a radio. Mark took the time to help us choose the right fit. After considering a single din versus a double din we chose a Kenwood with single din. My son is delighted to have a deck that is Bluetooth and USB compatible with his mobile phone. We especially like the mic installed in the upper left hand corner of the vehicle. It does an excellent job in making and receiving calls even with a noisy cabin. Mark spent more than the usual amount of time in answering all our questions without rushing us to make a decision. The labor cost was well worth the quality of work. Thank you for your depth of knowledge and professionalism. When it comes to stereo installation, they really know their stuff. While I could have done my own installation their world class customer service is what persuaded me to have the work professionally done. We had bought a set of subs and amp from a woman who was going bigger in her car. This particular set matched our truck nicely (red) and was in like new condition. We had gone to another car audio shop to discuss installation options and prices, and that representative essentially told us that the subs were too big to fit under our back seat, so we would need to buy new subs and two new boxes. After reiterating to him that we would like to keep the set as is, the plain installation price seemed a little high itself and, since he really didn't seem interested in talking further if we weren't going to buy a bunch of new equipment, we left. Instead of going home, we thought we better try one more place just in case. Finding Traffic Jams on Yelp, we headed over. Unfortunately, I did not get the name of the extremely helpful and knowledgable representative that we met on Thursday, March 26th, however, I am very thankful for our interaction. After explaining and showing him the equipment we had, along with telling him what we wanted done, he not once told us what additional equipment we "needed" to buy from Traffic Jams. He, extremely good natured and in a humorous mood the entire time, walked us through the installation process and what it would look like. After receiving the exact price for what the services would cost, we went inside to book our appointment -- we were able to get the installation done only two days later, on a Saturday. Saturday came around, and we received a phone call four hours before our scheduled appointment as there was a cancellation. With this, we were invited to come in early if we so chose. Already having an oil change set for beforehand, we weren't able to get there too much earlier although we did end up getting there about an hour before our scheduled time. We had our other car with us so did not wait around, but I did notice two dark, theatre like rooms set up with movies playing that, I am sure, would have made the time fly by if we did wait. Shortly afterward, a representative called just to clarify a couple of details on the installation before getting started, and before I knew it our vehicle was finished. I was charged the price I was told I would be two days before, was able to pay quickly, and then I was on my way. Further, the man who rang me up told me that the work is guaranteed for as long as I own the truck. Nice! Thank you, Traffic Jams, for the wonderful experience. They installed an in-dash nav ~2 years back for me, very pleased. The ipod cable was damaged a couple weeks ago, took it back there. I pointed out that I could find the same cable a little cheaper elsewhere, when I called back a couple days later they met me on the price. Had the cable replaced, when it was time to pay the bill, the labor was apparently on the house since the install was done there. What the hell, not expected. I will always return as long as I live here and recommend others. Are there other good installers in Tri-Cities? Yeah maybe, but this place has taken care of me so I intend to stay put. read more

I love this place. We have an ignition interlock in our car, and before Traffic Jams, we had to go to the Rad Towing shop to have our calibration done every month. TJ's is soooooo much cleaner and faster. Their customer service is excellent. They help you out with whatever you need and answer even the weirdest of questions. Its a pain in the butt to have an interlock, but at least the monthly check is much much easier now! read more

I bought a brand new car and wanted to add a in roof DVD player so I took it to traffic jams. They messed up royally. The wiring caused my tire pressure system (TPS) light to go off constantly. I thought it was the deal ships problem initially. Through process of elimination they found out it was from the DVD install. My car was in the shop constantly. I took it to traffic jams to fix and it still causes the TPS light to turn on and they offered me no conciliation. I'm stuck with new car that will always be broken. read more

If you want an install that sounds like no other and yet the install that matches perfectly, they are the place. So happy with their work and their selection of equipment. I drove 4 1/2 hours to come to Traffic Jams because it's supposedly a premier installer. If I could give this company less than one star I would. This was absolutely the worst customer service experience I've had in years. They installed my security system in my car in March 2019 and it worked fine, except they failed to put two other add on's in. They said I would have to come back. I came back three months later for them to finish what I had paid for, and when I left the second time, I found that three of my dash pieces had been ruined and stained white on my dark colored dash. I also found that I was having continual false alarms and other dash fault messages. So I contacted them and they offered to replace the dash pieces and assured me all would be well. So they said they had to order the parts, and told me later after five weeks that they couldn't get all of the dash pieces so I had to reschedule again in six more weeks. So SIX MONTHS after they initially put in my security system in my car and it worked for three months btw, until they touched it again and ruined the dash, then they told me that they couldn't get the security system to work in my car because my car was to fault and they had to take it out in Sept 2019. They also told me that there was nothing that they could do about it. So then accused me and said it was something I must've done or it was something that the car was doing, even after I explained that it initially worked just fine for three months and immediately was messed up after they sent it out the door on the 2nd appointment. So six months after I gave them $1200 and paid $250 for monitoring they told me in a 3rd appointment that I couldn't have an alarm system in my car at all. Then .... to pour salt on the wound after I told him I was going to sue them if there was anything wrong with my car because they said that they heat shrink all of their connections (and they don't they use electrical tape in my engine bay of all places) for connecting to the tachometer. The point of heat shrink tape is to prevent stress on electrical connections. They also told me everything would be soldered and nothing was. After sitting in their shop for 7 1/2 hours, they offered to buy my car and give me a plane ticket home .... for exactly 1/2 what my car was worth. So that way had I taken their offer (which I didn't) I would've had to go car shopping the next day because they didn't want to have to deal with the residuals of their very poor install. If you can take your vehicle anywhere else I highly recommend doing so. If you're buying something from them they're super nice, but the second you have one problem they talk to you as if you're dirt under their feet and literally will start yelling at you and gang up on you. Any other review that says differently must be part of their good old boys club. They are the biggest bunch of liars I've ever done business with. I plan on pursuing legal action for damage to my vehicle even though they refunded me the cost of what I paid upfront of $1200, my car now has problems from their install along with a whole bunch of electrical connections that a kindergartner could've done. Don't believe them when they tell you that they do a professional job with heat shrink and dedicated wires to the battery and fuses and take care of your vehicle, because they get a giant F for failure to do so and a few other F words. Lastly you should know that they initially plugged in my glove box lights incorrectly and asked me to get under the dash and fix it when I got home. read more

I have had them install Viper Smart Starts in two different vehicles over the last several years and these guys are Pros. They get the work done when they say they will and for the price they quote and they stand behind their work. I recently had an issue with one of my vehicles and they diagnosed it for free and it was not a problem with the Viper system. I highly recommend this shop based on the stereo and start system work they have done for me over the last number of years. read more

I purchased a remote start from Traffic Jams and had them install it. Since it has been installed I have had multiple problems with my car starting. I've taken it back to Traffic Jams three times. They said it was not the remote start, that it was the battery. I replaced the battery with a brand new battery, my car would start for a few days and then not start again. I took it back to Traffic Jams, and asked for a refund. They offered to re install the system. They did and it worked for a few months. Now my car will not start at all and the car dealership said it is because of the way the remote start was installed. Traffic Jams says it is not thier fault. read more

I asked to have custom work done to install an amp on my fiance's car. I spent the entire day trying to make it clear, and they refused to allow me to see what they were doing. I came in when they opened to try to make it clear, and came back two hours before my appointment to get in early as possible as they said they needed more time. I got there and my keys were taken, but the car was not moved until the time I was slotted for original appointment.I told the staff repeatedly not to screw anything to stock car parts. I pointed out I wanted the amp installed on plywood instead of screwing the amp to the back of the seat. The older box sat on top of the spare tire so I thought it was clearly understood I wanted the custom plywood put over the floor of the trunk so that it would fold half way so that the spare tire could be slid out. Instead the fold was near the seat making absolutely no sense. The only way to take the spare tire out would be by removing the entire piece of plywood after taking the subwoofer box out. The floor could of been not installed and had the same access to spare tire. Not only that the stock board cover for the spare tire was left under the wood floor. What is the point of an extra wood floor when there is one already there? The claim there was a miscommunication between the staff. I saw the amp and I assumed it had been installed on a false wall as I repeatedly stated. Then I saw after driving home that the amp was screwed to the back of the very expense Recaro seat's. So the whole reason I ever asked to have the installation to begin with was ignored. I had to repeat numerous times to please cover the seat with a blanket that I brought to prevent any damage to back seat from the old equipment. They had to be reminded, and they did lay out the blanket, but then they just threw all of my stereo equipment and older stuff in the back seat with no regard for damaging it. So I would definitely not recommend them. They need have a supervisor monitor the technicians instead of just sitting around the lobby because they really do not have any respect for people's property. read more
