They are not for me, There is a weird territorial parking war going on over there. The audio place recoated the parking, covering the normal parking lines, and claimed the parking from the other businesses. They put up signs and threaten to tow people standing not parking. Now instead of parking behind the audio shop as they previously did, they now park sideways across the spots to block patrons of the other businesses. A google Ariel photo shows the previous normal parking This does not make sense; the other businesses bring you business. They would rather block 20-30 spots making them unusable with four cars and leave spots behind the shop empty, than park normally and attract business that moves through. read more

When installing my subs they broke something on my a pillar so it's pressing on the glass so it constantly rattles they bent the plastics when pulling them out, so they are just sticking out when they were finished and my audio keeps cutting in and out, then I talked about the pricing with many others and a lot of well known shops could've done the work for half the price I realized later, I've been told by a lot of shops they up-charged the hell out of the labor price read more

Let me start off with this. I was not working with Kyle, but have heard awesome reviews about him. If I could give this negative stars I would. What a HORRENDOUS experience. Recently bought a double din from a private sale and needed a harness to get everything installed properly to my car. My bf (who's been going here for TIME and his friends - who spend more than they should lol - strongly recommended this place) went in to buy a harness, was sold the wrong one - which isn't a problem it happens - but we decided to come back today and get the right one. Now, did we show up 13 minutes early by accident? yes. Was the front door unlocked and the guy working, already dealing with a customer? yes. Did he attempt to politely say we're here too early and needed to leave the store front so he could lock the front door (10 minutes til opening), he did. So we all left back out into the cold to check out the connectors in my car to get a proper match for a new harness. Guy looked at them said okay no problem, comes back out with the proper harness! YAY! Now here's where I'm upset (aside from being booted from the warm because he still had 10 minutes till open). I'm not a wiring girl, I get confused by it and this is why I had my bf help and go to these people, but I noticed he had brought out a harness that only fit 2 connectors from my harness that had 3. I said hey, you're missing a connector. This guy literally replied with, the other one is a steering wheel connector, points to his car and says I didn't use one for mine, I said ok well I want my steering wheel controls to work, HE SHRUGGED AND DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING AND WENT INSIDE LOL. Just about threw my coffee at his head. So, Mr. Morose Pissy Pants that has to work saturdays, you suck, I don't like you, and I will NEVER be returning to this store. Oh and ps, not sure if it's my wiring or not but as far as I know the only wires that need to be connected to turn the radio on are connected and it still doesn't work. I've been looking for a place that could install a double DIN dash kit in my vehicle and Civic Audio was the only place I could find that had one in stock that day. Everyone else said they'd have to order one. Unfortunately the radio I wanted wasn't in stock but by the next day it came in and I had it installed the next afternoon. I thought it was weird that they put my microphone for my bluetooth on top of my dashboard but since they didn't offer me any options I thought this was how it was done. About a week later I bought my mom the same stereo as an early Christmas gift but I took her car to Mickey Shorr where they did it for about $100 less and they actually drilled a hole in her dashboard so the mic is flush with the dash and doesn't look like an eyesore. Mine is just sitting on top with the wire out, very unprofessional. When I called to see about getting mine done the right way I was given excuses that they can't tell customers every possible option because that would take too long. WHAT? Are you kidding me? If I'm giving you hundreds of dollars for a stereo I expect you to be the professional and tell me ALL of my options. I don't work at a car stereo place, you do, and I expect you to tell me everything I'm PAYING FOR. Also, don't use the excuse that you hardly ever get complaints to take the steam out of MY complaint. My complaint is valid and whether you get other complaints or not is seriously irrelevant to this particular situation. read more

It's alive, and sounds incredible...finally! March 31, 2018 I have a 2002 Jeep Wrangler with just 33,000 miles from new and of course the factory sound system finally gave up the ghost and I bought a full sound system from Crutchfield. I took said sound system to a shop I've been going to on and off for 30 years and after they had my Jeep the whole day - it just wasn't right, sounded horrible, distortion etc. I went back two more times and still disappointed. I wanted a satellite radio antenna installed and the original shop is closed Saturday's, so I made an appointment with Civic. Kyle took my Jeep inside and a job that I thought should have taken a couple of hours took about 20-minutes (DANG)...I started picking Kyles brain and he set up another appointment for a check out because he too felt the system was not putting out the sound it should. I came back to Civic a few days later and within ten minutes it was discovered that the tweeters in the sound bar weren't even hooked up and those should have been blasting me out of the Jeep. Since there would need to be more time and he was booked the rest of the day I scheduled for Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 10:00 AM. I dropped the Jeep off the night before and was back at Civic around 13:00 the next day and by 14:30 I could hear heaven coming from the garage and I went to see, sure enough, my Jeep sounded magical! I love Jazz and now that the speakers were completely hooked and the new amp was installed I could hear things I couldn't before or unless I drove my '17 Overland. The subwoofer controller was removed from the glove box and mounted as it should have been, to begin with, USB2 was also removed from the glove box and mounted in the center console. So, to Lori, Chris, Matt, Kyle, and Deon - thank you! I cannot wait to remove the hard top next month and crank some Rippingtons! I worked with Kyle, Dion and Chuck at Civic Audio in Utica on a complete installation of a new head unit, door and pillar speakers, amps and subwoofers in my Tahoe. They took me from a stock GM (non-Bose) system to something that sounds absolutely amazing regardless of genre of music I'm listening to. I'm extremely happy with the outcome of this project. I'll admit that I'm not very knowledgeable about car audio and I was a little worried about the process of upgrading and installation. These guys immediately made me feel comfortable with the process. Not once did I feel like they were putting their interest in profit over my interests. They also didn't treat me like the car audio amateur that I am. They listened, asked questions and gave the time to explain things. They were very humble in that regard. This is a family-owned operation and they obviously understand how to keep people coming back through honesty, good communication and quality workmanship. I definitely appreciate this and feel like it's a dying art. Great shop and a bunch of stand-up dudes operating the place! I will be back for sure. Great Experience! I came to Civic Audio because I wanted a new stereo deck for a used car I just purchased and it sounded like all of the speakers were blown out too. I am a noob to stereos and Kyle patiently educated me about the components and how they interact with each other. I thought I was going to spend about a grand with new deck and 5 speakers, but I spent about half of that because they tested my system and found that ONLY the sub needed replacement! Kyle offered me coffee while I waited for the installation to be complete, very nice. A day later, I was having a hard time hearing an incoming call on the Bluetooth stereo. I called Civic Audio and they quickly identified the problem(volume turned down too low on phone) and I was back in action! These guys are great. Very knowledgeable and honest! We have a 2011 Buick and we were looking to get a remote start for it. The dealership said our particular model couldn't have a remote start added- as did Ziebart. When I called Civic Audio (Matt), they explained that it would take longer to do it but it could absolutely be done. We dropped off the car that day and 3 hours later we picked it up. I used to come here for all my car audio needs. Not anymore. Very little product and over double the price that can be had elsewhere. Now, I understand that they need to make a profit. But I felt I was price gouged. I politely called them after to voice my concerns and I was basically told to bad and there was nothing they could do for me. Went to look at headunits for an M-B C240. Store seemed really disorganized upon entering. Took 10 minutes in the store before even being talked to. Then when I ask about the Mercedes, the sales person made a face and said it's really hard to install in Mercedes and most likely the vehicle I have can't be modified. I knew that was incorrect from my own research. He seemed genuinely surprised when he found an install kit and steering wheel controls for my model. I then say I have $500 to spend total. Want Double-DIN, BT, audio streaming and steering wheel controls. So he shows me a JVC @ $399 and then says $625 for everything. I say I have $500. He says, best they can do. I shake my head and leave. Waste of time. I go to Car Tunes in Berkley, dude doesn't blink about an M-B, tell him same things I told Civic, says this Pioneer unit does all the things I want, will add steering wheel controls and $540 out the door, installed. read more

What a disaster! I recently had them install an amp and head unit in my Mustang. The quality of the workmanship was very poor. My HU was missing bolts and rattled immediately. Upon removal of the face plate, it was obvious that they did not bolt the HU to the frame, but just placed it in the dash. Speaker wires were not routed properly and carpeting was not returned to original installation. Amp was not secured in the trunk as promised and speaker wire was dangling. Missing trim clips and screws after installation. I could have done a much better job myself. Really! What training do these guys have?? Obvioulsy no pride in their work. Seems more like a place where a bunch of Eminem wannabes hang out and practice on your car for minimum wage. Also, prices were very high in comparrison to other places I shop at, as much as double the prices. My mistake, never again! read more
