Personally though, I really like it, all sorts of different spaces to hang out within, it holds a lot of people, good for groups. Has food, pool tables, some video games, limited outdoor seating. Looking for somewhere very casual to hang out, this is a good choice. Check out the special of the day - Tuesday for example is 2 for 1 burgers (normal burger is ~$8.50). So I love this bar!!! The staff, the atmosphere, the food, beer, games, etc. It is all wonderful! I have been coming here for years and it will always be a staple for me! I especially love Wednesday night trivia nights! Which are a lot of fun!! They have great bar food, but one of the best things on the menu are the wings!!! These wings are cooked to perfection and have a perfect spiciness! They also always have a plethora of wonderful local brews on tap!!! They also have a bunch of fun games to play, from Big Buck Hunter, to the 4 pool tables in the back, a dart board, video golf, and a couple foosball tables!!! I've only been the one time, but the bloody Mary's were strong and delicious. The T-Head: cheap, rowdy, awesome greasy bar food, hot ladies, and dirty hippies. Sometimes the crowd at the Trailhead can be a bit on the greasy side, it makes for a fun time and a place where you can get totally shitfaced for just a little $$. Not sure how we ended up here, but I picked this bar for the moose on the sign. Cheap beer, great Tuesday night crowd, and too large to be the dive bar that it is. Trail Head Tavern is probably Old Town's most popular watering whole. They are open the latest of any of the bars (until 2am) and they have the most consistently affordably prices on drinks. Micros start at $2.50 and they always have PBR or Coors pitures for just $6 They have your typical bar food spread, but it has always been good. You can get your hands dirty digging into some wings or have some traditional pub fish and chips. It gets pretty packed and rowdy on the weekend nights but during the week it is also a great place to get a bite and a pint for lunch and sit out on the patio. Trailhead is sweet when it comes to good bars in FoCo. When you don't wanna deal with the Frat/Sorority crowd at the Rio along with their coma-inducing Margarita brew-hahas. Yay for the Trailhead! Despite the come-ons of the chef (you should taste my breakfast wink-wink), the food here is pretty good and cheap! One of my friends says that the wings are the best in town, but I prefer the chicken fingers. Geeks who drink is really fun, but sit close to a speaker if you are super-serious about kickin' some geeky a**, 'cause it's hard to hear with the crowds. I love the Trailhead! It's always a good time and is usually a nice escape from the crowds that flock to places like The Yeti and Tony's. This is my favorite bar in Colorado, dive or not. I lived in Fort Collins for two years and spent at least one night a week at the Trailhead. They have a great selection of cheap beer, including micro brews, oodles of activities, and an amazingly fun staff. I've made so many friends and wonderful memories at this place. You can get micros for right around $2 weeknights. And PBR is always a buck fifty! As advertised. A cool dive with great lunch specials. We had Meatloaf Monday and there was nothing prepackaged about it. Homemade loaf, real smashed potatoes for $6. I had their Philly chicken sandwich and I am not sure if it was because I had already drank a few of their fantastic choices of beers but it was AWESOME. I love going to trailhead to watch the games. I always meet friendly people there and am looking forward to going back. One of the nicer bars to hang out at in town. Can get wild and crazy some nights, or have just the usual bar atmosphere others. The staff and the crowd that hangs out here usually are pretty cool. In terms of pricing I'd say it's very average for fort collins, although some nights they have some good deals on pitchers and such. read more

WOW! Night and day. I had accidentally stepped into the next door establishment. I was overheard sharing my negative experience there, by the bar-keep. He gave me the "Snow Special". These guys seem happy to see you. As everyone I have spoken to said: "Steakout is cleaner, nicer, more facilities. Almost same location, same beers, same prices. But....." Apparently on a weekend people will stand in line at the Trailhead, even in the rain, even if the SteakOut is empty, because of the difference in staff. They recovered a disaster for us. We had been to the dump next door, it looked better but night and day. We should have wondered why two places with basically the same location and the same prices and features would be: one full and one empty. The reason is clear now we have been in.
