The 4-star rating is mainly for the portions and service. I'm not saying that the food was crap, but just manage expectations and treat this more of a casual pub scene, rather than fine dining. The first time I came here, I actually did not eat or drink anything. That's because as I perused through the menu, the restaurant lost power from a thunderstorm. So they basically could not serve food for an unknown period of time. I thanked them for being informative and kind and moved on to a different spot for the evening meal. I decided to return a second time. The wings (Buffalo and garlic parmesan) were well-fried and flavorful. The risotto had too much balsamic vinegar on top, and the rice tasted a little sweet (think rice pudding). Both were turnoffs for me, and felt fortunate that it wasn't my order. The buffalo mac n' cheese was quite good, with a large portion that made it satisfying. Service was friendly and kind throughout and the decor was okay, though a little dark inside (even when they had electricity). This is a decent choice for food and it is on a main road.

Trail House Kitchen & Bar - North Adams, MA A lovely dining experience! We enjoyed a warm October evening dining outdoors on their beautifully decorated patio, complete with string lights and cozy fire pits. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Dinner was delicious -- a fresh garden salad and a flavorful pasta primavera with scallops. The combination of great food, friendly service, and charming outdoor ambiance made for a perfect evening. Highly recommend!

My husband and I stopped by for dinner after a lovely day visiting MAs MoCA and the Clark museums. I am gluten free and was surprised to find a Restaraunt that seems to have so many GF choices and options. We found both the food and the drinks delicious! My husband is not gluten free, so he has been enjoying New England food such as traditional fish and chips. I was getting jealous. At the Trail House they focus on Gluten Free options. I was able to get: GF New England Clam Chowder. Wow was that super rich and tasty- big chunks of clams and fresh veggies. And creamy herby soup. Gf Fish and Chips (finally). The cod was great fried in a light crispy coating. My husband chose aGF crispy chicken with maple bacon sauce and mashed potatoes. Even though it was GF, he said it was wonderful. He had one of their local draft beers and I had the seasonal Pumpkin Martini- delicious! Unfortunately I was too full to consider the GF dessert menu.

Let's start with what went well...outdoor seating was enjoyable and the coffee (Chris Coffee) was the best thing we enjoyed. Martini too sweet. Menus had old specials in them, our table number was mixed up with another's. The beet salad was smothered in dressing and not well presented. Service was average. We were offered a second glass of water after we finished our meals. $75+ for an appetizer, 1 cocktail and two salads seemed a bit too high for the quality of food. The burgers coming out to other people's table looked like the way to go.

It was a beautiful, snowy day before Christmas when my friend and I decided to stop in for a late lunch. We had enjoyed excellent, attentive service, and wonderful burgers and espresso martinis. The ambiance was perfect. I look forward to returning!

Such a nice patio in North Adams! Our waiter was also the bartender and he was great, we saw him actually run out to the garden to get fresh basil for our drinks! The patio is dog friendly and perfect for a post hike meal! We ordered the special, a chicken Parmesan sandwich, which was delicious and large enough to split.

Finding the front door to be seated was confusing. I think I entered through a side door-which was fine for a party of one with no reservation. I don't mind sitting at the bar. The server bartender was polite, but seemed to focus on people who seem to be "regulars" even though I was seated before them. I sat without a menu, while they were handed one as soon as they showed up. Table service was quick-no complaints there. And generally I have no other complaints with my server-she was overwhelmed with drink orders and table service for those sitting at the bar. My beef medallions were supposed to be served with a red wine demi-glacé. It was more like a congealed brown gravy with a hint of red wine. My green beans were cold and had the consistency of a canned bean. Positives-my steak had a good sear and was cooked medium as requested. Underwhelmed by my $28 steak and gravy

Grilled ham and cheese on GF roll with side garden salad

We wanted to love it, but it was just alright. To be fair, I didn't get what I had ordered and I am sure that this contributed to my disappointment with my meal. We started off with a mock-tail, the berry one with ginger beer. It was beautiful and delicious!! I had ordered the chicken sandwich on gluten free roll with the side sale. My mother ordered a special which was a grilled ham and cheese with a side salad. Unfortunately, when my meal came out I actually passed it to my mother because it was visibility ham...and the waiter corrected me and said no this is the GF roll. I was disappointed, but my partner and I have both worked in various kitchens and we do not send food back. It was just ok and barely warm. We were pleasantly surprised and pleased with the size of the side salads that replaced the traditional fry route (based on our choice). The food was fresh and vibrant. The service was prompt and attentive, maybe new? They didn't seem to know the menu well, and special descriptions weren't great, and the detail of getting my order wrong. The system to pay was awkward...they swipe your credit card and while they hold the phone you sign and select your tip- I think it probably negatively impacted their tip because there is no time to think and typical rounding up to even numbers, etc. was not an option. Mistakes happen and we enjoyed the ambiance. I will be back to try again in hopes of trying something that I actually want to eat

Seated quickly at the bar. Super friendly service. Had the seafood pasta special which hit the spot and was delicious. Squeezed in the apple pie and ice cream for dessert, then walked out fat and happy!

Friendly servers, food mediocre at best, especially given the prices. Website says farm-to-table. More like freezer-to-table.

Literally every venture is a waste of my money and I suppose a punishment to my wallet is what I deserve for continuing to contribute to a business that I don't support. However, one of their only high lights that lead me to this dead sports bar is the fact that they are open before 4:00 p.m. Now that COVID came to town, people don't go to lunch anymore apparently according to businesses. If you want bland fried food for an average price, you will most certainly get what you're looking for. They don't season their baskets of fries, onion rings or pickles (when they had them). Literally plain batter. I did get a side of chipotle aioli and it was in fact, Mayo mixed with some chipotle sauce... not the bomb aioli's that I have had at other local places. The drinks are always over priced. I don't quite consider Stoli that top shelf for $8.00 vodka drinks. Nor a captain and coke $8.00 but maybe that's just me living in the past. Most of their pints are over priced. The wells are $6 which is fine but I don't know what they keep in their well because any time I have ever asked for a drink, it's always $8.00. I guess I need to inquire about the Burnett's special? I had an $8 draft mango craft which was fine, fun but had I known I could have nearly bought a six pack for one pour, I would have gone for an old fashion White Claw.. if they had it. Don't bother asking for a cider. They have none on draft and the two that were available were Stella for those who love mouth puckering artificial sweetness and some craft one that the bar tender had no idea what end of dryness/sweetness it was. The can of spoke of Juniper tones so I passed. I literally hate this place and am only giving it two stars instead of one because I'm the fool that continually agrees to go back to this over priced dump. The staff leave little to be desired typically. I won't judge today because restaurants don't staff accordingly anymore but the lack of personality and knowledge of product astounds me. Be better... go anywhere else.

This cozy long space in the front section of the bowling alley offers a good vibe with plenty of TVs, sports memorabilia on the walls, a full service bar with seating, regular tables and high top tables. There is also an enclosed outside patio area and big tent with more table seating. The food menu offerings offers a selection of appetizers, burger/sandwich plates (with hand cut fries), wraps, salads, soups, pasta dishes, steak, chicken, seafood, and daily specials like flatbreads, turkey clubs, and lobster rolls/lobster mac n cheese (seasonal). The prices seem fair. I stopped by The GOAT in North Adams for dinner very recently. I could seat myself at any table and the server came over with the menu & specials list. The place was fairly busy with most seats at the bar occupied with several college football games on the TVs. I got an ice water and ordered the Italian Pasta Bake ($17.99 plus tax). My food came out in about 15 minutes. The good portion was comprised of firm grilled Italian sausage, firm tender meatballs, thick marinara sauce & melted mozzarella cheese over soft linguine, and a hot chewy piece of bread on the side. I managed to eat about half of the pasta dish before asking for a to go container. The check with Heartland QR code was presented, which was $19.25 with tax and before tip. Overall, the Italian Pasta Bake was a good choice for a filling meal. I almost ordered the Clam Scampi Bowl with a side salad, but perhaps next time around when I'm very hungry.
