I wanted a Kubota. The "local" Kubota dealer (40 mi away) was my 1st stop. I gave them my parameters and my budget. Over 2 months they gave me quotes that were too high and not close to what I wanted. They weren't truthful with me and tried to only sell me what THEY had in their stock. I was driving north on Inst 5 with my wife, discussing my frustration when she said, "... well, are they the only Kubota dealer?" On a whim, she Googled Kubota dealers near me. Up popped Nor Cal Tractor Sales ... (these guys are all part of the same company) ... in Redding CA and they were 10 mi ahead and right off the highway. We walked in, dressed for "Lake Time" and their sales rep (Kris B) was immediately accommodating. I told him my saga and what I had been looking for. Model numbers etc. That's where I learned I'd been misdirected. Kris pointed out the models I was asking about were older and no longer available. They didn't even have them in their rental fleet any longer. Then he showed me the new model ... the one the other guy told was so new they couldn't even get one for 6 mos. ... he had 4 of them. I had given him my budget already, remember? He came in $4k under!!! Then ... cherry on top ... he delivered it for $200!!!

Told them he had replaced the fuel injectors within the past year, lift pump within the past two years and believes it's most likely the pressure pump but does not have the scanner required to do the other diagnostics that need to be done. My boyfriend called around after dropping his truck off around 9 am. I sat like a fly on the wall listening. My BF asked about his truck the person on the phone sounded annoyed when they told him "I'm with a customer can you hold?" He came back on the phone and proceeded to tell my BF that they aren't really sure what the problem is but they think possibly 3 of the injectors failed and would have to charge around ballpark of 400$ to take them all out to test them, but it could be the pressure pump they don't know for sure. Long story short he called up Jefferson State diesel (JSD) where he had purchased the injectors to begin with. The friendly staff member answered, "Good afternoon, (introduced himself) and asked how he could help. He referred to my BF formally calling him Mr (and used his last name)." He was so professional far stretch from J and H performance. He informed my BF his injectors were under warranty and would be glad to help. My BF then called back J and H performance and explain to him that he would go ahead and pick up his truck. He asked what the charge would be. J and H performance told my boyfriend that they worked on his truck for four hours total. There was no diagnosis which is the whole point of bringing it in. They told him what he already knew. Apparently on the receipt there was only a few items that show what they had done which was hook up some scanners and they told him they worked four hours on his truck and charged $375. NO WAY When my bf told him he was very unhappy with that price considering there was no diagnosis.. the guy told him, "well what do you want us to charge you?" Then proceeded to get rude and state, "just come get your truck and don't come back here." My BF told him "oh no I don't expect anything for free. I know you did some work, I'd like to pay you for but 375$ is ridiculous!" My BF paid the full bill needless to say he won't be returning and I would not recommend them, myself personally, to anybody just based on what I had witnessed with my own eyes and ears.
