This place sets the bar for customer service. My family and I were on vacation 340 miles from home. My boat trailer had a flat and the tire center close to where we were camping said the rim was the source but couldn't get one. I called here and Dave helped me. That's not where it stopped. I would have been willing to drive 80 miles to get the wheel but he offered to meet me on Sunday (mind you the shop is closed. So his day off) to get me the wheel and tire I needed. He did this so I would miss time with my family When I tried to offer him some money on Sunday for his time, he refused. He said, "This is just part of the business. Gotta take care of eachother" I now will be ordering 3 matching nice wheels and tires from him and having them shipped to me. While driving from Trinity Lake to Lodi during a two week camping trip, one of the wheels on my boat trailer fell off while stripping the lug studs. I stopped into the Redding Trailer Center unannounced and showed Steve the damage. Steve explained replacing the hub was an easy job and got someone on it right away. An hour later, I was back in the road with a new hub and bearings. If I lived in the Redding area, I'd use them for everything. What luck I found this place. I was fishing in a remote part of Shasta County when my boat trailer bearings, hub and rotor broke. They not only had the parts we needed, the staff in the parts and service departments were extremely helpful. They even helped clean up the spindle on the axle and let us borrow some tools so we can reassemble the bearings, hub and rotor. They deserve 10 Stars. I purchased a old trailer that I needed to rebuild. It needed new axles, and leaf springs, it needed everything. I went to Redding Trailer Center and talked to Dave. He didn't make me feel stupid. He listened to all my concerns and we ordered axles for it. We came up with a problem with those axles and he worked with me to get the right axles. He was polite, he was helpful. I am glad to see atleast a few others have had a good experience at this shop. It would give me great pleasure to also leave a good review, unfortunately i can't. This is atleast my second if not third experience dealing with Steve. He came across as a cocky anal arrogant ass the first time i dealt with him, and succeeded in doing so everytime thereafter. Steve, i've never complained about your prices ever, must i also pay for an attitude? That's just for starters! I also tried my best to convey the fact that i felt i had multiple issues with my trailer, please inspect the entire trailer thoroughly, and get it all the first time. Since i left his shop, i put maybe a couple miles on the trailer just going home. Luckily, my employee and i inspected the trailer the next morning before taking it out on a small job about two miles down the road, and we found two cracks in the suspension hanger, one in each corner at the frame, on the opposite side where they welded the other hanger. By the time our trailer came back about four hours later and maybe four miles roundtrip, the hanger was ripped half way across. According to Steve, i couldn't prove any of those cracks were present when my trailer was in his shop approximately 6 miles earlier. Are you kidding me Steve? Is this to be considered a professional response from a professional shop? I admit when i called Steve about this, i wasn't as pleasant over the phone as i could have been, but i also knew i was going to receive a double barrel dose of his anal arrogance. How would you react given ALL the same circumstances. As a result, and i knew it was coming, "i think you need to find another trailer shop". Customer service and satisfaction is #1 at Redding Trailer Center. I have been purchasing my parts from them for a while. Recently I replaced the brakes on my 3 axle fifth wheel trailer coach. Traveled to Arizona and discovered a broken spring in one of my new brake assemblies, called Dave at Redding Trailer to get the part number to ensure I was replacing with the same assembly. He did one better, he dropped shipped a replacement to me in Arizona. Mechanical failures happen, but what happens after a problem arises is the difference between Redding Trailer Center and places like camping world and blue dog RV and other corporate RV dealers. These guys are hands down the hardest and fastest working group of guys I've seen at a repair shop. I called them Friday at 2:30pm with a broken leaf spring on my bass boat trailer. I had a tournament the next morning. I told them my situation and they said get here ASAP. When I pulled in, before I could get out of my truck someone asked 'leaf spring?' I said yep, then they responded 'put it right here!' I backed in my trailer and they started working on it immediately! I'm so thankful for their customer service and eagerness to get my trailer fixed so I would be able to fish my tournament. Took my patio boats Zeeman trailer for a safety inspection and to repack my wheel bearings. It cost me $780.00 as I wanted no problems when I picked my boat up from Bridge Bay as I am a woman and did not want to get stuck on the side of the road. I picked the trailer up from Redding Trailer and immediately went to get my boat out of the water. As soon as we loaded the boat and got to the top of the boat ramp I noticed all six tires were bulging and one was almost flat. I tried to go really slow to the repair shop at Bridge Bay to put air in the tires and one of the tires came off the rim. I called LesSchwab to help with the tires and when they arrived I was told that all 5 tires that was still on the rim were at least 20 PSI low on air and they had to replace the one that came off the rim as it had pinched it while trying to get to the air. It cost over $200 for the new tire and the emergency visit. I called Steve regarding why the tire pressure wasnt checked when they were doing the safety check and wheel bearings and he said it had and that he didn't have any an explanation for me. Didn't offer reimbursement and really didn't seem to care.. Wow... After spending that amount of money for a measley boat trailer thats the thanks I get. I know lots of truckers and they will definetly all hear my story. read more
