I relocated to this area about 1 year ago. I was missing my massage therapist from my previous location, but was so happy to find Tranquility Massage and Wellness on the East side of Athens and Elise. Last week was my 5th visit with Elise. She is now my go to therapist. Elise does not just go thru the motion of giving a massage, she truly cares to help resolve the issue. She did just that again last week. I walked in with a lot of issues and she addressed every one of them. The key is to communicate. I felt better right after i left, but the next day was amazing. The trapezius and neck pain was completely gone, my hamstrings and low back pain was so much better. I also like the ambience of the facility. Scheduled a massage with Susan after classes one day. The bus made me late for my massage by ten minutes but Susan offered to make up the time I was late since she had the time to do so! I have never had that happen but I really appreciated that! Susan was also a great massage therapist! One of the better massages I have had and I will definitely be returning again! The building is very nice and all the rooms are cozy and relaxing it was very quiet which was nice. I've been to other places in Athens and none of them compare to Tranquility for quality and price. honestly, I don't think I could have had a better first time experience. As soon as I walked into the office, Susan made me feel comfortable and relaxed. She acknowledged my first time experience and offered advice to make my time there enjoyable and anxiety free. She applied the perfect amount of pressure that made my body feel connected in ways I didn't know possible! she checked in occasionally without offering small talk that may have caused additional jitters. I had a 60 minute Swedish massage with Amanda. I asked her to focus on my shoulders and she did just that. At other locations, I feel that they give the same massage to everyone, but Amanda listened and tailored the massage to me. I left feeling like I got my moneys worth. I highly recommend! read more

Lacy is the best massage therapist I have ever had. She is attentive as to what might be your biggest concern at that time, and she works diligently to help alleviate your issues. I had shoulder surgery a few months ago, and she has been so helpful in working with my range of motion along with the physical therapist. Very much enjoyed my massage with Susan last weekend. I treated myself for my birthday and do not regret it at all. Susan did a great job listening to my problem areas and focusing her efforts in those places. She had a gentle touch, on tender areas, but had no issues delivering on the deep tissue with firm pressure. I highly recommend Susan and will absolutely book with her again. She had a very good energy about her. As for the business itself, I really liked it. The rooms were cozy and welcoming. I prefer smaller, more quaint places for a relaxing massage. The rates at Tranquility are excellent compared to some other massage therapy businesses in Athens. My first time booking a massage in Athens, I found this place from a google search. Based off of price for a 90/min massage I went on a limb and booked with Becky. Let me tell you....this was hands down one of the best massages I have ever received! She was attentive to areas I told her were giving me issues and she gave one of the most through neck massages, working every little muscle. I will be back! The prices are extremely reasonable as neither of the ladies charge additional for deep tissue or neuromuscular, which is unheard of in the massage industry.
