I have been doing TM since 1977 after learning the Relaxation Response, which did nothing for me. Many years later, when I couldn't find a TM center, I learned Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction at Duke University, another highly popular technique. This is the most highly studied meditation technique in the world, with more than 600 studies backing it. How can you question peer-reviewed medical studies with excellent results? Wall Street investors, CEOs, executives, celebrities, doctors and others swear by TM. The US military even uses it and is studying its benefits. There's now a study on the benefits of TM for dementia and Alzheimer's after doctors noticed the benefits on patients following the Bredesen Protocol. Oprah was so happy with it, she paid for her staff to learn it. Huge corporations provide it to employees to increase productivity and morale and reduce health-care costs, school districts use it to help calm kids, focus them and prevent bullying, and doctors recommend it for stress, heart problems and more. This was a life-changing experience, and I am so grateful for having stumbled onto Naomi and Gary. They were warm, clear, and thoroughly enthusiastic about the technique and the good it could do. I'm naturally skeptic but I felt comfortable with them, and it allowed me to open my mind to the possibility of this being something that was worth the time and cost. It was, very much so. Since beginning the technique, I have felt more relaxed, more at peace, and have had a general feeling of well-being. Transcendental Meditation is simple but very powerful. I took the course a few weeks back as I wanted to understand not just to be calm and reduce stress but to know the purpose of life. So, I approached Gary and Naomi last month and scheduled an appointment. Gary took my first class, and it was just amazing. After my class, I felt that I should have taken this class in my teenage. It instantly brought my stress level and blood pressure down and enhanced my focus to a more significant deal. I have been practicing for the last few weeks. It has been a great experience. I have tried meditating by myself, and it didn't work for me. I then started asking people I knew where meditating and was referred to Transcendental Meditation by a friend who had learned meditation with TM over 20 years ago. I decided to try that. Heck I had been spending time an money trying to deal with panic attacks, so I thought if this could work it would be more than worth the risk. That was 3 years ago. And the panic attacks are gone. The key to it, in my opinion, was the fact I meditate every day, at least once, sometimes twice (it feels great to meditate). I'm a stay at home mom to two kids ages 8 and 2. I'm also homeschooling my older one! As former military with different challenge on my daily life I found TM meditation a key to open my peace of mind. It has helping me on my insomnia and feel more easy.
