I've been training with Colin at Transform 180 for almost nine months now and really should have reviewed them earlier. Weight training has truly been life changing for me and I could not have done it without them. I was a really book smart kid, but had absolutely no physical aptitude and I had written it all off as things I would never do. But moving to Seattle meant changing to a walking lifestyle, particularly walking by a lot of gyms. After staring at the Transform 180 ad in my building's elevator for enough weeks, I decided to stop waiting for some arbitrary "fit enough to try" point and went next door to sign up. It has been really tough work. Part of that "no physical aptitude" thing is I'm not very coordinated and I have hurt myself a few times over the course of training. But every time, Colin has been understanding and supportive and NOT LET ME GIVE UP. We work different areas, work on getting stronger (so my ankles won't just slip out from under me haha) but safely, at the pace my body sets. If I had been on my own, I wouldn't have stuck with it. If I had been focused just on weight loss, I would've probably given up by now too, as that's a long road. Instead, weight training gives me goals I feel I have more control over than the scale, going up in weight limits and being able to run more miles when I do cardio (because going to weight training has gotten me to use my in-building gym on off days a lot more too!) It has been amazing for my mental well-being too. Sometimes there are bad days in the gym, but I'll get to try again next time. Sometimes there are great days in the gym, but guess what, still gonna have to do it again next time! I've become more aware and confident of what my body can do. The entire atmosphere of this gym is incredibly positive. I feel like everyone there wants you to do well at whatever goal you want and there's no pushiness, no judgement about where ever you are at in fitness right now. Even if I'm having a terrible day, I know the hour I spend in there will be a chance to get away from that stress and focus on doing something for me. It's been worth every penny (by now I've switched to the largest "bulk" pack of sessions, because I really don't see stopping now) and it's a life long investment in my body working its best. read more

Transform 180 has been an amazing experience for me. I had worked out in the past (squats, bench, etc.) So I was hesitant about how much I would learn from personal training, but boy was I wrong. Max is an fantastic trainer and an all around great person. He has corrected a ton of things about my squat and deadlift form and after just 2 months (coming from not working out in 6 years) I have already made new PRs and am past my body weight for squat, deadlift and bench. This was all thanks to Max. I only go once a week but Max has always created full body workout plans that leave me sore for days. He is also always teaching me new lifts I can do at my apartment's gym. On top of that, Max is always available to help answer any general health/fitness questions any day of the week! I was referred to Transform 180 by a friend who been with them for while, and couldn't say enough good things about them. Now I know why :) I have been working with Adnan for over two months now, and he's great! I started with little history of exercise and I was recovering from a shoulder injury to boot. I see gains in strength and my injured shoulder keeps getting better. Adnan is very professional and friendly, and he calibrates well to his clients' needs. He knows when to push you and when to pull back. To add to this he is always upbeat, attentive and has a good work ethic (On several occasions, he has waited back to finish up what we were working when I was the last client of the day) To be honest, I have never enjoyed going to gym in the past, but now I really look forward to hitting the gym at the end of a long day. It's a great way to unwind, and you don't have to think when Adnan is training you :) The gym has a strongly positive vibe, and Adnan / Charith seem to understand and appreciate that most people have a busy life outside of gym which probably leaves little time for fitness. Last year, I bought a Groupon for Transform 180 Training and quickly because a regular client since this past January. Although I used to train at another gym, the quality of my sessions here have been great and exceeded beyond my initial expectations. Rod has been my trainer and I highly recommend him. He is extremely personable and fun, but also very knowledgeable. His training approach is challenging but he continuously pushes me to do my best. From my observations, Rod and the other trainers really take the time to understand the needs of their clients, which is a vital part in any training experience from a client standpoint. Since January, I've increased my overall physical strength and endurance in weight training. For someone that has only incorporated cardio workouts in the past, this was very much needed. I've lost over 10lbs and a good percentage of body fat since I've started. I plan to continue with my training sessions for the remainder of the year. I just recently renewed their bulk package offer because it's worth every penny. The environment is really great and there's a great selection of equipment. While I've only trained with Colin, (who is amazing) I've had plenty of opportunity to observe the other trainers and the staff is: fully engaged, knowledgeable, have a diverse repertoire of exercises, and customize the service for the client. The environment is very chill. There is a diverse clientele in various stages of their transformation and there isn't an uncomfortable machismo vibe. Rather, everyone is friendly and I look forward to my appointments. The website makes it easy to track your appointments, cancel, reschedule, and manage things. Oh and they deliver results. It is best investment that I have done so far! I have been training with Transform 180 for more than a year now and have seen significant improvements. I was initially pretty reluctant on getting a personal trainer, but decided to give this a try. After I joined I lost about 15lbs and now have started gaining muscle and strength. Kara is absolutely great to train with. She is pushes me to the next level and doesn't let me give up. I look forward to my training sessions every week because I know I will do something that I wasn't able to do before. Kara also focuses on form and makes sure that whatever little I am able to do, I do it right. This year I have a lot of hiking goals and I am working with Kara to get the goals going. Every session I try to negotiate my way out of heavier weights, but Kara believes in me more than I do. She is always there pushing you to do more than you think you can or even want to, but I think that is the best I can expect from a trainer! I started training with Charith/Colin after I found a Groupon deal, thinking lets see what personal training is like. I was under the assumption that I was decently fit, but at the same time felt stagnated in my fitness levels. Training under Colin and Charith has opened my eyes to a whole new level and plateau of fitness, one I never even dreamed of being on let alone achieving. During the year I have been training with transform180 I can safely say it's the fittest I have ever been. I have gone from someone who dragged myself to the gym as a chore to someone who feels queasy if I don't get some physical activity during the day. During my workouts Colin is always pushing me to my max. When my mental block kicks in he is always there to push on. He's also a complete stickler for form, pointing out minute details in my form that seem insignificant, but make a large difference in getting the most out of each rep. He truly seems to enjoy training people, which makes the workout fun. It also helps that he's super fun to talk to between sets. Charith is ever present even when you aren't training with him. Even if you are working out on your own or with one of the other trainers he will be aware of what you are doing, motivating you and improving your technique as required. He's always coming up with new ways to "torture" my body (just joking!!). He's always willing to discuss my fitness goals, and designing a workout specific to my needs and ability. He also mixes up and changes the workouts on a frequent basis, so that my body is not getting too comfortable and so that the workout doesn't get boring. Initially, when I started working out I had a minor knee injury and was afraid to do anything with my legs, I can now squat more than I ever thought possible. I had back pain that wouldn't go away and slowly I have built my deadlift strength to an all time high as well. I doubt I would've been able to do this on my own and have Colin and Charith to thank for this. They have instilled the belief that no goal is impossible and all it takes is perseverance. I've been training at Transform 180 about three times a week since November. Adnan is my usual trainer, but I've also worked with Nate, Charith, and Jennine while Adnan was out with a broken collarbone. To me there are a couple reasons to work with a trainer rather than just going to the gym myself. The first reason is that I don't have the knowledge and experience necessary to design a workout routine that fits my fitness goals. The trainers at Transform 180 definitely have the know-how and the passion to develop an exercise routine for me and my particular needs and limitations. Adnan in particular has done a good job of designing a sustainable program for me. The other reason is for the extra motivation. Let's face it, despite my best intentions, I'm not always going to hit the gym just by myself. Having regular appointments with a trainer keeps me accountable, and once I'm there, my trainer always pushes me harder than I would push myself. As for results, I've lost a fair amount of weight, I've gained a fair amount of practical strength (carrying 50 pounds of dog food is no longer tiring!), and my arms and legs are even developing a fair amount of visible muscle definition. My fitness goals are pretty long-term, but I'm definitely well on my way to changing from a weak, fat guy to having a stronger and healthier physique. read more

I joined Transform180 based on what I had seen on yelp & a couple of friends had told me about. I had gone for an initial consultation in October 2016; but I looked at the price-point; and said "no Thanks". In hindsight; that was a big mistake. Around Feb 2017, I went again (external factors at play here); and started with 3 sessions a week. I had the standard first session; like many others have. Every thing I did made me realize how out of form or shape I was. I used to go the gym about 4 years ago; and did very little work-out or athletic work on my work; so I was completely out of form. After about 20-30 minutes into it; I felt light-headed and even puked. But Charith spoke to me & made me understand how my body is reacting to these changes, so it is kinda normal. I was not deterred; I went for the second session; and started with Blake thereafter; and I have never looked back. The thing about working with Blake is; he is fun, he makes you understand each exercise; and he is very adaptive. We started off light, and he made me do some core muscle exercises and then some high intensity cardio. What I liked about his exercises was that he took things that looked super simple; and when you actually got down to doing it, you realized how intense it was. Never once with Blake I felt overwhelmed. Challenged yes, but never pain. His workouts were innovative (i don't remember repeating stuff); and I could see progress right away. he primarily focussed on my form (I initially felt back pain with dead-lifts and all, and he immediately stopped & changed it up); and helped me increase my stamina by focussing on breathing. And the workouts had impact as well. Apart from the numbers (losing weight & inches); I felt so much better after each workout. There were some days that I was super tired before the workout; and I thought today's workout will kill me; but I felt so much better after the workout. During the workout; if I started stiffing up, or feeling some sort of a pain; he would immediately change up the workout so that we can work around & stretch it out completely. They also give you a meal plan & help you work on your diet & separate workout plan on your own. I trained for about 2 months with Blake & Transform 180 before i had to leave Seattle. While I am disappointed that I can't continue with Blake; I have personally changed my approach to workouts & now go regularly. I am now interested in seeing how I can increase (the time for a workout, or weight being lifted) each time I workout; and given the emphasis on form & how to correct it; I am confident & comfortable that I can avoid injuring myself. I would definitely recommend Blake! If you are interested; but still doubtful or hesitant, go talk to them(Charith/Blake), try the groupon rate or something. Once you finish a couple of sessions; you'll notice that it is totally worth it. After all,it's for you; and you will be the only one that gets something out of it. read more

This place has been a life-changer! Charith is running an amazing gym, and he and the trainers are incredibly approachable, and very supportive. They really just want to see you succeed. It's because of this that I truly look forward to my two sessions there per week. When I first signed up six months ago, I wasn't sure what to expect. I'd never really weight-lifted outside of high school, and that was a very long time ago. I did know that I wasn't happy with my strength level and weight, and distance running just wasn't cutting it for me anymore. A web search pointed me towards Transform 180 Training and their excellent reviews. I was introduced to Nate during my first session, and he has been my trainer since. Nate is a great guy to work with, and he's really taught me a ton about proper form and diet. He is patient and answers all of my many questions. Thanks to him, I've made a ton of progress in the time that I've been there, and I'm much stronger. I've also slimmed up and feel way more confident. I cannot say enough about this place! Having been working out with Colin for over 6 months, I am 500% satisfied. I'm lazy by nature but very dedicated to getting fit and Colin, well, he is amazing at seeing when I can actually do more and when I'm just being lazy. He doesn't just listen to me, he listens to my body. He pushes you and makes sure you get every bit of your 55 minute session. When I started Colin did all the right things to make sure that we didn't just jump in to building giant arms. He made sure that all of the little muscles had the strength they needed to start building the big ones. And he never skips leg days! That is huge for me, he is focused on the entire body, not just the "bro" groups. (i.e. Biceps, triceps, and pecs) The entire staff and especially the owner take your fitness goals seriously. It's worth noting that they worked around my schedule pretty well too, I mean Colin was willing to come in at 5:30 am because that's when worked for me. I've been training with Elliot for more than 2 months now and the experience has been great. He has a very natural style of teaching and motivating. While I used to hit the gym regularly before joining Transform 180 (and still do), training once or twice a week with Elliot gives me a different perspective and a very different and challenging workout. He is always into the right way of building strength and also suggests multiple corrective exercises along the way. Results-wise, I have been able to build strength all around and tackle issues like lack of motivation of hitting body parts like legs and back. I am lazy to postpone and write review now. I went to Transform 180 for about 4-5 months from January to May last year. Since I had never been in a gym before, I decided to go to Transform 180 for the first time from a deal on Groupon. I have been constantly exercising for one hour twice a week for five months. so I felt a change in my body that was out of shape. The trainers were friendly too, and I was able to learn the exercises that I can do with equipment at the gym in my apartment. I've been hitting Transform 180 gym about for 2 months now. I mostly worked with Matt twice a week. I strongly recommend working with him. Since college (in the last 10 years ago), I did not have an active lifestyle. Because I focused at work, working out or even being active was not a priority for me. And after gaining extra 60 lbs in the last 5 years, I started to see my health deteriorating. And I decided to take an action. At first, I tried to go to the gym my self. But every time I tried that, I experienced lower back pain or pain in my my ankles or my feet. After the fourth trial, I realized that I need help. So I decided to work with a trainer. After reading the feedback about Transform 180, I decided to give a try with these guys. With a couple of basic/diagnostic workout sessions, Matt identified all of my problems developed overtime due to excessive sitting at work, being overweight and just not being active. I had almost flat feet and problem with ankle and back mobility and more than one posture problem. Matt walked me through a list of basic exercises that I should do on a daily basis (at the gym and outside) so that I can work on those issues in the long run. In the meantime, we focused on specific mobility issues that prevented me from doing squat and deadlift with the right form. In less than a month, I developed the mobility to do these exercises. And Matt focused on improving core muscles in the meantime. Now, my weight loss started (5 lbs each month). Now looking back, I realize that I was having pain when I was working on my own, because I did not have the right form and my core was not strong. I think anybody working in a (especially stressful) desk job more than a couple of years would have the same/similar issues I had. I strongly recommend these folks to start working with a trainer (preferably Matt). You will soon realize how bad your posture was and figure out how you can fix your posture and other issues. So that you can achieve the active lifestyle you deserve. I think it is a great investment with excellent returns. I am planning to work with Matt until when I feel comfortable to work out on my own. I used to work out religiously by myself however I felt I plateaued after a point with my workout regimen. Saw an ad on Groupon for 6 personal training sessions at Transform180 and decided to call ahead and ask what was included. Charith offered the same deal instead of purchasing the Groupon. First few classes were analyzing the level of strength and endurance. Remaining classes were full body workouts where I haven't felt much better (the good muscle aches) post workout. I also realized while working with Charith that some of my exercises had terrible form and technique. Charith helped me with understanding the techniques and form of every exercise and muscle group that we targeted. After the Groupon deal expired, I decided to workout 3/week with Charith and continue with my workout routine. I have been training with Charith since May 2014 and haven't looked back. There's an obvious ownership that you bring to the table along with your trainer but if you follow Charith and his team's advice to the tee, rest assured you will reach your goals faster than imagined. I strongly endorse Charith as a personal trainer. Contrary to other trainers, he's not one bit condescending and will work with you to reach your goals. I just finished two weeks of training with Kyle at Transform 180 Training and can already feel a pretty big jump in my upper body progress and overall strength. I found Transform 180 through a killer Groupon deal (it's actually a little too good, I would say--6 sessions for about $110 or so--I've never seen anything like it at as good a gym), and trained three days a week for two weeks. While I have already been working out for quite some time, I wanted to use this chance to try personal training, assess where I am, and see if I could push myself further. Kyle was great! He's easy-going and patient, but also pushes you to get in that extra rep or two. He was the right level of informative and helpful without making you feel silly or awkward. I think some folks can get easily embarrassed about their personal fitness or body in front of others, but there's no reason to worry about that AT ALL with Kyle, and I would doubt with any of the trainers at this gym. I would say one of the strengths of the training was also one of its weaknesses, from a business point of view: none of the equipment or exercises were too fancy, complicated or complex--both instruction and equipment was straight-forward and effective. From a customer's point of view, it's awesome, I learned a lot, tested new limits, and can now take my experience with me back to my home gym to keep improving. From Transform 180's point of view, though, it's hard to keep customers coming after the deal unless they absolutely require a certain level of accountability to keep up with their fitness goals. Great fitness studio in Belltown with awesome trainers who listen, motivate and teach you skills to keep/reach your fitness and nutrition goals. I started going to Transform 180 after purchasing a Groupon for some sessions. I was a little intimidated during my first session (only because I've never been to a training gym before) but Charith and all the trainers there were all really friendly, personable and made me feel at ease. I train with Ian who is super knowledgeable, has a great disposition and is great at keeping the sessions fresh and running smoothly. My main goal is weight loss and I was provided with a great meal plan that is realistic and practical. I started training with Charith when I found a Groupon deal for 6 sessions, but I have been throughly impressed and I have been training for about 3 months now. I can definitely say that when it comes to a personal trainer, he's as good as it gets. Charith has this great approach to training that make you achieve so much more than you would have achieved on your own. His exercise plans are very scientific and effective. He plans the exercises meticulously for each client separately, so what you will be doing is customized to your body and requirements. His experience makes it fun to train with him, he knows perfectly when to give you a break for water and when to push you beyond your limits. Each time you would go home feeling happy about what you managed to achieve in the gym. As a person, Charith is a very down to earth and friendly. He is a great motivator and he has this knack of getting you do your best. Oddly 60 days back, me and my friend had this conversation about revamping our lives and getting into shape. This place is amazing! Ever since my first consultation with Shawna and my first training with Adnan, I knew this personal training facility was perfect for me. I have been that guy that has constantly joined multiple gyms, have started off great, and then stopped after a few weeks consequently having a sunk cost each month for a gym membership that I didn't use. After seeing some amazing reviews about Transform 180, I wanted to give it a shot... and boy has it been worth it. From the friendly staff that greets you by name, to the great facilities, to the personalized workouts... no wonder this place is growing so fast!! My first few sessions was with Shawna until they found a permanent training. She not only taught me the fundamentals but challenged me in a fun and exciting way. Then I was introduced to Adnan and I have been training with him for the past few months. He is by far the best trainer within Transform 180. He teaches you how to lift properly with good form. Great gym, and I had the chance to work with a couple trainers before settling on Ian, who was absolutely fantastic. The focus on maximum strength with occasional conditioning detours really works for me. I added over 100 lbs to my deadlift and squat and about 75 lbs to my bench, in addition to adding tone, cutting weight, and feeling much stronger on a daily basis. The sessions aren't cheap, so this is not for the budget gym rat. But the outcomes are really very clear and worth it. read more

I have been training with Max since few months. His training methods have definitely helped. He is a personal trainer in true sense as he keeps me in check even on the days when I don't see him by reminding me about simple things that would help me (like using the stairs, nutrition etc). Transform 180 is a great personal training studio in the center of Seattle. The studio itself is bright and clean, the Pandora streaming is good, and more importantly it has enough equipment to vary workouts and improve skill levels. I've been coming in the early evenings and on week-ends and more than once had the studio to myself. I also cannot recommend highly enough Shawna and Rena who have been training my partner and me since we started with them. Both are extremely knowledgeable and always vary the exercises to make them fun and different. They adapt to different fitness levels and although push you beyond your best, are also great listeners to modify movements and reps as needed. They have a great sense of humor, are superb conversationalist and make the overall workouts way more pleasing yet challenging than a solo session in a random gym. I started my Transform 180 experience with a Groupon for three classes and just signed for a 36 sessions package at very compelling prices for private 1:1 training. The schedules are highly flexible and the package doesn't have an expiration date which is great for frequent travelers or more unpredictable schedules. Highly recommend it! read more

I moved to Seattle around 3 years ago and was nervous about finding a new personal trainer. Luckily, I found Courtney and I have been working with her ever since. She helped me feel confident and strong as I was getting prepared for my wedding. Since then, she has helped me set realistic expectations for myself and has educated me on nutrition and recovery. She has been awesome at putting together training sessions that allow me to get the most out of my workout while paying extra attention to a recurring knee injury. I came to Transform 180 in early March 2018 to start personal training. Prior to Transform 180, I did not know how to exercise and work out. I was also very limited with knowledge about my body strength. After coming to Transform 180, my trainers Jamal and James designed customized training plan based on my body type and strength and discussed nutrition plans frequently to complement the physical training. Now I do not have fears for training and know what to expect every time that I go work out. I understand that work out is a lifelong mission and i still have a long way to go, but I am very confident and feel that I am in the right hand for training. I have nothing but good things to say about Transform 180. I joined several months ago to work on core and upper body strength (both of which I was sorely lacking in). I really wanted to have a female trainer, and I found the perfect one in Rena. She is incredibly encouraging when I do well, but not at all afraid to push me. She can always tell when I'm really at my limit and when I can do just a few more reps or a slightly higher weight. Thanks to all of her training and advice, there is a noticeable change in both my strength and my muscle definition. Rena has an awesome attitude and has been so great to work with. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone without hesitation. read more
