This company is horrible and scammers. I have a fully licensed towing company in NYC that complies with all city rules to become one. I go to this location to pick up a vehicle and they won't release it to me because I have no Yonkers permits. After looking into the permits they are for removing vehicles from private lots (as in a towing account) not for picking up cars in that location. I'm allowed to remove vehicles from a storage facility and transport back into the city like I was. But according to these guys they have their own rules. No problem make sure you guys have a DCA medallion when you guys come into the city. 2 can play that game. Everyone is aware to do the same when you guys come to get a vehicle from the city now. I was overcharged by almost 3x the cost I was supposed to be charged !! They overcharge what their contract even allows and way higher then the posted towing fees. When I got in my car my entire glove compartment was emptied out, cup holder pulled out - they were rummaging through it looking for money obviously. Wtf They kept telling me they weren't in the office only so that the storage fees would add up.. and then I knocked on the door and the same person opened up holding drugs in her hand! The worst tow company and pound in Yonkers if it's towed to 165 Saw mill River Rd run. My car got towed here after an accident and I'll go retrieve my stuff from my car and I'm not allowed. Supposedly only they could do it and go through my stuff so if stuff comes out missing guess what is not their fault, but there is the one looking through your stuff you're not allowed to request to sign a form to let them check an empty on my car and they will be responsible. Guess what happen they took out the car from the lot and allow me to then take out some of my stuff because I already went through my stuff, and I do not recommend nobody ever use these people , they are a bunch of crooks when I asked if I could do it myself one of the guys right away said oh nobody wants your stuff, so why not let me take my own stuff do you have to do it exactly a bunch of crooks. This company is a total disgrace. They towed my car at 2:30am on some pages it states they are open 24 hours on other 8am to 4pm. I arrived at their location at 8am no one came until 10am. The clerk came in with a pack of beer, very unprofessional. The old guy got mad because I started asking question about my car because they damaged my car while they towed it. They broke one of my tire rods and bended the other one. Then he denies messing it up. My car was running perfectly then after they towed it I had to get my car towed out of his yard. Then transit towing overcharged me for storage fees, then when I asked for proof that the claimed they had my car for 26 days . The old guys gets loud and mad then tells me to speak to the lady Carol. so I ask her do you have anything that says when the car came to your yard , then he buts in . I am currently filing a compliant against these racist scammers of a towing company I got a release form from the police to get my vehicle back and they refused to give it to me because I was not the registered owner of the vehicle I explained to them I showed all necessary documents to the police before I was given the release form I am an essential health care worker I had to leave my job and come yet these people had me standing outside all day in the cold while they were inside laughing with each other. They refused to give me my car took my car key from me and sent me back to the precinct to deal with the police. I never thought I would have a horrible experience in my home town; I recently got my car towed by this company called "Transit Auto Towing" At 165 Sawmill River Rd Yonkers, NY 10701. On Friday, my car was towed, which I can admit it was my fault. I tried talking to Moe, who was the guy towing my vehicle to please let me get information on where my car is going. He asked for the keys. I told him to give me the information we made the exchange, I also asked him if the office is open on Saturday he told me yes I can come pick up my car as well. That Saturday morning I called approximately 10 am to make sure my car was there and some lady by the name of Carla had The nastiest Attitude; I couldn't believe her customer service. She told me the office is closed, but I googled them, and the office didn't close until noon on Saturday's I ended up showing up at 11:40 am when I got there, Mike told me to wait for like 10 minutes because he was talking to a friend now it's 11:50 when he asked in a rude tone, what do I want!! I told him I'm here to pick up my car, and he told me to get out of the office is closed. I was not having it, so we did the back and forth; before he kicked me out, I asked if they can give me the amount that ill be paying once I pick it up on Tuesday because Monday was a holiday, they told me $312.00 I asked her to write it down she told me no I recorded everything with there knowledge by the way. Hence, when I returned today (Tuesday ), they gave me a different amount, which Was $446.39 at this point, I feel like they scammed me, and was very Rude, racist, awful people that shouldn't have a business at all!!!!! read more

I agree with the earlier comments in the fact that this company should be out of business based on how he interacts with PAYING customers. The fee was overpriced and they only accepted cash. Oh, and they did not provide a photo of the reason why my car was towed, so that reflects more laziness on the company's part. Being forced to pay hundreds of dollars in cash under timed conditions is not my idea of good customer service, on top of being disrespected and yelled at over the phone as a paying customer. I could get over this cost if I had to.. the aspect about this process that was the most difficult was dealing with these people on the phone. Petty criminals. They towed my car off the street when I was on vacation because the window was broken. (I strongly suspect they broke the window.) The car was in the lot almost a week and they didnt even tape plastic to the window even though it rained. They keep the cars in a ghetto lot and charge about $75 a day.
