Really disappointed since the reviews on here led me to try them out. The doctor seemed to just assume my prescription from my eye images. Which is all well and fine. But then when I did the test of what's better, A or B, I told him neither were good. He didn't try any other prescriptions. He just went on a schpeal about how it's subjective and patients always think stronger is better. So he actually reduced my prescription. I get my glasses and can't see a damn thing. I have to do a follow up. He tests me and I can finally see a bit better in the tests. He starts going on a schpeal again about how patients always want stronger and he'll just give me what I want. Listen, I don't have an agenda. I just want to be able to see. He told me a story about how his friend has cancer and I think he was trying to make me feel better about eye health or something. He said at least it's just your eyes. Listen, I use my glasses every day. This is effing important. He handed me a prescription, and as we were talking, he took it back and rewrote it. During this visit he kept asking what I wanted to do. Like I don't know. I'm not an optometrist. Overall he was making decisions quickly that didn't make sense to me and weren't backed by tests. When I came in again he treated me like I was trying to get my way on something when I literally just wanted a correct prescription. I can't explain how frustrated I am. I've never experienced this. I know have 2 bad prescriptions, meaning I replaced my lenses twice. I now have to pay for all new lenses and find another doctor. DON'T EFFING GO HERE. read more

I know what you're thinking.....you're skeptical about a five-star review for a doctor. I've been in your shoes many times so I have been reluctant to share this one. However, as a bespectacled fellow for most of my life, I have had a multitude of optomistrists but Dr. Tran and his staff at Transvision was as personable and professional as they come. Dr. Tran really knows how to make a visit pleasant. Although his manner is very casual and conversational, he does a great job and getting right to the task at hand. Additionally, he doesn't spend a lot of time trying to give you unnecessary exams or upselling his services. He is a straight-shooter regrading the results and his recommendations, allowing you to be an adult and make choices that work best for you. They have a wide selection of glasses, most of which will be covered under your vision insurance. The glasses were ready on time and Dr. Tran's wife/office manager was patient in getting them tweaked to my crooked face. (On a side note that does not affect this review, she is an amazingly beautiful woman. Way to go, Dr Tran!) Based on my observation Transvision welcome customers from all communities (I believe they have speakers of several languages on staff). Getting your eyes checked is a pain but Transvision really makes it easy. read more

I tried Transvision Eyecare about two years ago when the DMV told me I didn't pass the eye test. So much for my Lasik surgery! Apparently I have had some "regression" but that's a whole other Yelp review. Sure enough, Dr. Tran told me that my eyes were in bad shape from years of contacts, sun exposure and from the Lasik surgery. He even showed me a side-by-side of my unhealthy cornea and his healthy cornea, thanks a lot Dr. Tran. He confirmed that I could benefit from a light prescription, especially when driving at night. The glasses were a little too pricey for me (with no insurance for vision coverage) at Transvision, so I got my eyeglasses elsewhere. Transvision's office is beautiful, it's conveniently located, and the staff is the some of the most friendly and helpful that I've ever seen in a medical office. I recently went back for another exam, to check my prescription before replacing my lost glasses and had another great experience. This time Dr. Tran taught me that eye exams can indicate many different illnesses, and showed me the pictures to prove it. Dr. Tran has saved lives with eye exams! Good stuff. read more

I made an appointment at Dr. Tran's office because my usual optometrist was booked two months out and I was running out of contacts. I couldn't be happier with the level of care provided by Dr. Tran and his office staff. From making the appointment to paying and scheduling a follow up the ladies at the front office were professional and very sweet. The cost for a contact lens fitting with optomap was lower than at my previous optometrist as well. Dr. Tran addressed all of my concerns and had me fitted in a pair of contacts with minimal work on my end (almost no "what's better, one or two, two or three?"). Best optometrist I've ever had. You get your prescription, no questions asked, with PPD so you can buy your glasses anywhere else (I've done online because it beats my vision plan's discounts). There is absolutely no pressure to buy something from the office. Dr. Tran is honest. I asked him about Lasik and he said that if I was his sister, he'd recommend that I do _not_ get it. He said while they would make a good amount from the procedure, I wouldn't be happy with the results. I'll be hitting them up later this week to have them adjust some glasses I bought elsewhere. I called and they said they'd do it, no fee. His staff is fantastic: the lab messed up my sunglasses twice and the office staff negotiated the lab to not charge for any of the lenses treatments. I'm so impressed by Dr. Tran. I've seen him twice now for eye exams, and he is so kind and caring towards his patents. He's passionate about his work, and explains all the eye testing in detail, even showing images of your own eye to you in the process. I needed to get my old lenses fitted for new frames. Not having very much money, I opted to find a suitable frame outside of TransVision. Even though this process still cost me $100.00, paid in cash, my service went downhill from there. I was told the glasses would be ready in five days. On the fifth day, after driving there, I was told that they were not ready and that I would receive a call when they were on or before Friday. On Friday, I called in myself after receiving no call, and was informed that I would have to wait until Monday. Finally, on Monday I picked up my glasses. They didn't fit correctly. I went back to have them adjusted. I was helped graciously by one of the desk attendants, and was told to come back if I felt they needed to be adjusted again. The next day I went in again after realizing while driving that they were still crooked. Kim was asked to assist me. She didn't seem interested in helping, and made comments like "our tools aren't designed to be used on these frames" and "your lenses are way too small for you" and "because of how cheap these frames are I don't want to adjust these" and "There's nothing else I can do" After putting on the frames and having one lens touch my eyebrow and one hang lower than it, I asked her how they looked, knowing that it was crooked. She looked me in the face and said "They're not that bad". I felt like a second-rate customer and took my crooked $100.00 glasses and left. Not going back. read more

Dr Tran is pretty cool. He is definitely a doctor who wants to know about his patients and actually Cares! I recommend him to my family and friends. One friend when trying to schedule an appointment said the front desk staff were very rude. I haven't experienced that myself but I guess anyone could be having a bad day. They also have a lot of technology and Dr Tran explains everything to you in layman terms and in depth. Don't think your walking out of his office with a puzzled look or unanswered questions. I got a new job and my current eye doctor wasn't in network so I found Dr. Tran. He seems like a genuinely nice doctor who cares about the health of your eyes and taught me things about my eye that I didn't know. His mother went blind from Glaucoma and he focuses on your eye health and keeping it healthy. They gave me sample contacts to try out and see how I liked them and then he wanted to see me back the next week to dilate my eyes. I have never been charged for a contact fitting before, and I wasn't too happy about that. I've worn contacts for years. But they don't charge me for any follow up visits and they don't charge to get more sample contacts. I felt like they made effort to work with you and to keep their customers and I will probably go back and stay with Dr Tran read more

Been going to him for 3 years. Very nice but - all the while I had macular degeneration. Dr. Tran may or may not have recognized the problem. Told me I had floaters and cataract. It's macular degeneration, which might have been successfully managed if he acknowledged the condition first time I saw him. Definitely not going back. read more

I have been going to the eye doctor ever since I was 6 years old because of being very near-sighted. However, every time I went to see the eye doctors for my yearly exam, most of them just gave me a new prescription for my eyeglasses. They never care about the overall health of my eyes until I went to see Dr. Tran at TransVision Eye Care. Using the latest technology, Dr. Tran was able to diagnose me for glaucoma. Dr. Tran explains to me that glaucoma is a silent eye disease that can take away my peripheral vision if not treated. Most patients don't know that have glaucoma which is highly treatable but has to be diagnosed early. I was not happy to have glaucoma at a young age. Dr. Tran was great. They have all the latest technology, which means you don't spend an hour going better 1 better 2. He tells informs you about your eye health and shape. I'm even going to recommend him to my husband, who usually prefers ophthalmologists. This is the first time I've used an optometrist on an insurance plan. It was worth the hassle of finding out, which providers I could see. He takes VSP and medical insurance. He has great brands for frames and it was about the same price if not cheaper than going to Lenscrafters. Well Transvision Eyecare managed to convince my insurance company that my routine exam was not a routine exam. SMH... My eye insurance was charged as routine and my regular insurance was charged as PPO office visit, double dipping. They had numerous errors on the supposed record they provided to my insurance company, such as my race and my answers to some questions, but I could not convince the insurance company to not pay this fraudulent bill. On the phone, these crooks told me that they made mistake billing my insurance company and that they would fix their error. Well they told the insurance company otherwise and got their measly few hundred dollars. ----------- It took 1 hour to finally see Dr. Tran. He appeared to be like a used car salesman, and he mostly talked about food and didn't seem to know much about eye conditions when I tried to ask him about general treatment options. He spent a total of 5 minutes with me and the only thing he said was your eye condition hasn't progressed. This is not the worst part... I got a explanation of benefits from my health insurance showing that my health insurance was billed for an PPO office visit (as well as them billing my vision insurance for an eye exam). This would be DOUBLE DIPPING. Plus making me responsible for an additional copay. What is wrong with these people? You don't make enough money so you lower yourself to shady practices? I strongly recommend that you look for another eye care place before you take a chance with these scammers. If you are a patient there you will be treated like a customer who brings them money. read more
