In town visiting, I've always loved trappers. Since the Kent station location closed, middle meeting spot is now this location. Met at 5:30 on a Saturday. Busy, we have a party of 5. We walk in, and the hostess says "what do you need?" We need an 18 wheeler and a bag of ball point pens. What do you think we need? They then tell us we have to wait 45 minutes because there are only 2 tables that they can move to seat more than 4 people. Even though there are 4 open tables that I can see. 2 are even next to each other. But you know, I don't know the fire code or whatever. So we just sit and wait. I wasn't watching the time, but we were finally sat. Our orders were taken, but I needed to put in an order for our party that was later than trappers was lol and we couldn't find our server. She was off in the corner flirting with another patron. I waited for over 5 minutes before I asked another server for assistance. The last order that was placed showed up before anyone else's. Maybe 10 minutes later everyone else's orders started showing up, except for my drink. Overall, this was not a pleasant experience. Thank goodness trappers food is fairly consistent.

I was scared to try this place because of the negative reviews but we had a pretty good experience! Their happy hour menu is awesome. The waitress was friendly but disappeared for periods of time, so I could see the possibility of getting slow service if it were more busy. The appetizers we got were just okay, we got the jalepeño poppers and stuffed peppers. The sushi was actually pretty good! We also got the rum punch drink and it was delicious. Dangerous because it just tastes like straight juice but so so good. Will definitely stop back to take advantage of that happy hour menu some more!

As always a great experience. I choose trappers (especially the Covington wa location) for my "mom" break. Sit at the bar for all you can eat and watch a TV show or read my kindle and just relax alone. Foods always great, service is fast and I love the varity

Wait time was too long when the restaurant barely had any customers. When my number got called, I went in and almost slipped and fell over. The floor was wet. The waitress witnessed the whole thing but proceeded to greet me with "How is your day going?" No apology. Well, as you can see, it is not going well since I almost fell. We went for the all-you-can-eat menu. The portion was big. I tried to try as many rolls as possible but unfortunately, half-sized roll was not an option. Not every roll tasted good and I got stuck with the ones that were not good due to the big portion. I didn't get the name of the sushi chef that served us but his service was very good. I only tipped him privately.

I honestly don't know what happens at this location but i ALWAYS, without fail, receive my order incorrectly when i door-dash it. I DON'T recommend ordering it online. It definitely a sit down restaurant, even then it's still mediocre sushi. This location specifically has problems with food handling. Ive gone 3 times to this location because my friends live close to it. All 3 times they were serving browning avocados, mushy fish, or missing the squid salad on the trapper's dinner. Food: 40/100 Cleanliness: 50/100 Environment: 55/100 Service: 86/100

Sashimi here is incredible. Waitresses/waiters are quick and respectful. Great for family or a girls/guys night out.

Excellent sushi, I would highly recommend. It's not tradition sushi but a great American flare.

I love trappers. Tons of variety. Close to home. The place is fairly small and always busy which is a good sign.

This place is pretty amazing! Definitely for special occasions, date nights, birthdays,…read moreanniversaries, etc. Plan to spend about 90 min eating here. You may be seated with another party (8 max per table from what I can see). They like to fill the table. Reservations make it easier for them to plan I bet. The food was top notch!!! I had steak and chicken. My bestie had the salmon. The veggies were perfectly cooked. Flavors are wonderful! Here's some things you may want to know: Chairs aren't the most comfortable (probably can hold up to 350 lbs). Air blows on your food if sitting on one of the ends (from the vent hood). This cooled down my food faster than I would have liked. Good thing I'm a fast eater! The entertainment was excellent! Tip well ok? :) It's a lot of food! You will be full. If ordering salmon, the finish it off with a teriyaki sauce. If you know ahead of time you can skip that if you'd like. I came with a shellfish allergy and they were very accommodating!!! They cooked my steak and chicken before any shellfish went on the grill. I appreciated that very much. All in all, this was a great experience and family friendly for all ages.

The slicer, dicer chef left a bit to be desired at our table. Trying to toss bits of fried egg…read moreinto our mouths didn't work out too well. The extra fancy ribeye steak I thought was overpriced at about $50. The ambience was nice. The parking access was easy

Probably the best fine dining establishment in the Maple Valley area. Steaks are fantastic and many…read moreof which are modestly priced for steakhouse grade food. Wine selection is alright and usually does not disappoint, but they could probably branch out more too. Cocktails are great and their famous tostadas with refried beans and fire roasted salsa served in a molcajete are delicious alternative to chips and salsa. Wish they would just open up for Monday, Tuesday since it's too busy the other days.

The steak and service alone deserve 5 stars alone. The deduction comes from the variability between…read moreother dishes over two visits. The Vacio wagyu is always perfectly tender, and continually warmed on the hot stone with its accompanying salt and chimichurri. That item alone makes me go out of my way to fulfill a craving. An honorable mention goes to their complimentary refried bean tostadas, which is very underrated. The loaded Papa Loca potato is large for sharing, perfectly baked the first time, but underbaked/too starchy the second time. The mushrooms aren't special enough with just a coating of cheese and an unappetizing heavy hand of red pepper flake coating. My toddler honestly has a palate for good burgers, but his dislike was mutual; tasting it it out of curiosity, the wagyu cheeseburger needed more flavor, while the fries seemed over-cooked in old oil. The first time on a weekday, everything seemed great. The second time around for a busy Mother's Day weekend, it just seemed everything was rushed, especially the food preparation.
