As a follow up, I asked them to provide me with an estimate for another project which we will do next month. After doing some research and consulting with a third party expert, their recommendation was to have baseboard heaters installed where we needed it. The reasoning being it was the most economical for the 300 sq ft of space we needed it in. At the end of the day, our concern with this option was that, although it was economical in the short-term, we weren't so sure that was the case in the long-term. After doing some more research, we decided to put in a request on Angi for a new baseboard heating project. Immediately Joe called me and, voila, a free consultation was scheduled just like that! I explained to him our needs and we made an appointment asap. On the day he arrived at our home he was very, very professional throughout. Since our floors were fairly clean, we requested that he place booties on his boots and he had no issues with that what so ever. In addition, if you have any pandemic-related concerns, he also wore a mask in our home prior to stepping indoors. Within 20 minutes, he assessed our heating needs, explained the best options for us (hydronic baseboard heater), described in detail what work would need to be done and where the heaters would be installed. In addition, he answered EVERY question we had to our satisfaction. Within hours of leaving our home, he provided a detailed estimate, via email, of what the cost breakdown for every piece of work required for the job would be! After we did our due diligence on the estimate and detailed breakdown and had some back and forth Q & A with Joe, we knew Joe's was definitely the most reasonable quote --- by far! In addition, his patience throughout our communications was amazing as we asked question after question after question and he answered them, promptly, with the utmost detail! On the day of the work, Joe and one of his partners, Mark, arrived right on time for the installation. Since it was quite a labor intensive project, it was estimated to be 6 hours and Joe's estimated completion time was SPOT ON! As with the consultation, both Joe and Mark were super professional throughout and we let them be as they did their thing. Mark ended up completing the job at the end and explained to us the ins and outs of our new hydronic baseboard heaters, how to work the thermostats we bought and he also cleaned up and vacuumed the area. It has now been 2 weeks since the installation and the heaters work perfectly! When the heaters are on, our entire lower level is warm and toasty and we couldn't be happier with their performance. Also, we love the clean look of the heaters and they blend right into our walls. Overall, we couldn't have been happier with the service of Mr. Electric of Ramsey. Everything worked out perfectly....AND at a reasonable cost! There is no doubt in my mind that many companies can install an electric heater, but I'm not sure how many will be as professional, efficient, spot on with estimates and reasonably priced as Mr. Electric of Ramsey. Do I need to say more? If you have ANY electric or heating needs, definitely go with Joe and company! You will not regret it!!!

My mistakes: 1: Not getting at least an estimate for the cost of the job in advance. Insist that the person assess the job and then tell you what it will cost. 2. Demand an invoice and a contract before the worker leaves. In my case, the electrician claimed he couldn't print out either one from his tablet. I don't have experience with a tablet, but I doubt that this is true. 3. Don't sign anything you can't read beforehand. This sounds elementary, and it is, but I still fell into this trap because I trusted the man, who had me sign his tablet even though I wasn't able to read a word on it. I should have refused. The bill for his simple 30 minutes of labor turned out to be a whopping $2,150. I learned later that a fair charge would have been $600.

Yesterday, the outlets in two of our bedrooms and a bathroom went out. It was weird since the…read morelights in the rooms still worked. We unplugged everything, checked the breaker, nothing seemed to work even after we reset the breaker. We started to email electricians that night. One responded that they would call in the morning, which they did not. The other never responded. This morning I sent messages to three electricians. The first, which is this one, requested for me to call. When I spoke with Scott, he said that he would try to do a walk-through troubleshoot with me over the phone, to see what the issue is and if I could fix it myself to save some money since it may be an easy fix. As I explained everything to him, he realized that the situation may need his expertise and stated that he would have to come over to find what the problem could be. He also stated that he would not charge me to troubleshoot and give me an estimate. He came within the hour, checked the breaker and checked an outlet in the bathroom which was a GFCI outlet. He immediately stated that he believed it was the outlet that caused the issue, and proceeded to address it. I didn't care for an estimate, I just wanted it to work again so I never asked for the price and he never gave it. Although he had to step out to go to Lowe's to get another outlet, he got the job done within an hour. He also separated the outlet wires so that if that if that one went bad in the future it wouldn't affect the other two bedrooms. He was a pleasure to speak with, super friendly, and professional. He came with his mask on and was ready to work. I am not sure how much a job like this would cost but he charged us less than $200. Now that we have a home of our own, we were looking to add home repair professionals to our Rolodex in case we needed work done on our house. He has now been added to that Rolodex. Thanks Scott!
