I found the experience to be so rewarding and educational that I jumped at the opportunity to assist her again this year! Both aforementioned classes (basic obedience) primarily focus on the use of positive reinforcement via clickers and treats to train new or strengthen the existing "manners" of our furry students. Almudena's methods are sound and clearly effective. We've had nervous German Shepherds, an excitable Airedale, shy and withdrawn Lab mixes, impulsiveness...you name it. My observation, however, was that not only do dogs accept and trust Almudena, but they improve and in some cases show their true colors as stellar students! The dogs are responsive, interested, focused and often times learn new behaviors quickly. It's no surprise that they succeed when they are taught in a manner that makes sense to them. I believe that this is a result of her obvious passion for dogs and her dedication to studying them...understanding that they are emotional creatures and applying her knowledge of how they learn to teaching them (and their people) new behaviors. Not to mention that she approaches each dog as the individual that they are...we all know that there is no "blanket training/treatment" for all dogs. Almudena is an advocate for dogs and puts their comfort and best interest before anything else (for example, if a group class environment is not conducive for a fearful/highly sensitive dog, Almudena will suggest an alternative set-up so as to not further stress the dog out--a stressed dog cannot learn). After class, her clients regularly seek advice regarding particular behaviors of their dog(s) that may concern them or that they'd simply like to work on...their questions are never left unanswered or without a reference to learn more. Almudena makes herself readily available for questions and discussions, which I find extremely encouraging. I've noticed that her clients are quite appreciative of this, too! Her professionalism and keen dog awareness have surpassed my expectations and she's a pleasure to work with! And, I reiterate, the dogs absolutely love her!!

In order for us to work together to reach those goals, I ask that you commit to (and pay in advance for) an agreed-upon number of sessions." I was very vulnerable when I met Almudena because I have a 6 year old dog with severe separation anxiety. After a recent move to this area, I was unable to leave him home alone at all without him going berserk and becoming destructive. After an initial consult, Almudena asked me to commit to 10 sessions for $900 to address Toby's problems. I told her that was too much, but I'd commit to 4 sessions, and I paid her $400 at the first sesion, with the following understanding (also stated on the website). "If we accomplish our goals before completing the estimated number of sessions, I will give you the option of receiving a full refund of the fee for the unused sessions or of receiving a credit for future training session(s)." I never got that refund. I worked with Toby every day for almost a month and finally had to resort to anti depressant medication to accomplish our goals. Almudena supported me through the initial process with emails, some of which were helpful and some of which were long, repetetive and off the point. When Toby finally was able to stay by himself, I asked Almudena for $200 back from my initial payment, leaving $200 to cover our initial training session and the emails. She's not going to refund it, sending me a list of every email she wrote, with times. All I can say is, "BEWARE" .

Sara shared that her team could help with that and they exceeded expectations. Also, everyone on the team was great about communicating how the walk or play date went that day. Our Regular Vet Ashley Sanchez is out of town, and we needed some help with our Horse Bentley, a retired racehorse 30 years old. My wife called the Vet and the first person she spoke with asked if we could trailer him, which we said we could. We were told the scheduler would call us back. The scheduler, "Wendy", called us back and said that they had not seen Bentley since 2021 and that we should call our personal vet since he had not been seen by them in so long. My wife told the scheduler "Wendy", that our Vet was out of town. Wendy said they could see him maybe, in a few weeks This is just not right. I would never refer a friend to this Vet for anything. Best thing you could do is fire the scheduler. There is not a debate when people call for care for their animals and that scheduler should have never said what she said. What difference does it make that the horse had not been to them since 2021 he was not sick since then. So, I plan on going on Google and Facebook and as many social media sites I can find and do more negative reviews about this place. No one that needs emergent care for their animal should be treated like this. I am an EMT, and I do not treat my patients this way. I would lose my license if I did. After multiple, futile surgeries at other clinics, it became a frustrating and expensive game of whack-a-mole, with one new tumor replacing the other. I was sure Midge would be gone in a year, especially when tumors stared popping up in difficult-to-operate areas like behind the eyes and along her jawline - dangerously close to lymph glands. That was 9 months ago and Midge is not only cancer-free, but stronger and more energetic than before the treatments at VCC. Dr. Kelly used a mix of Eastern and Western medicine to find the right cocktail for Midge, always being careful NOT to make her feel worse with side effects. She and her entire staff are compassionate, dedicated professionals who were just as attuned to my fears as to my dog's. On top of being very experienced, Dr. Kelly is super well-informed about the latest protocols and always communicates clearly and patiently in a way that eliminates any mystery or fear. I understand there is some unprofessionalism here like cigarettes on the desk, etc, BUT if you live in Los Alamos, you know how hard it is to keep a business going in this town so why would you rate someone bad who is obviously doing her best and a good job well at it. The review: I don't live to far from her new place on DP road so I walked my dog there. Stella, my dog, didn't hesitate a bit to go in, I was the sad one to leave her. I was checked in by Heather right away and she took Stella to the back. I asked her when I should expect to pick her up and she explained they were short a person should in a about 4 hours. She was right on, I picked Stella up 4 hours later after receiving a confirmation text. Stella was happy when we got her but was also enjoying the other dogs there. She groomed her very well and didn't take too much hair off just like I asked. I would definitely go back. She did a good job! it cost us $64 + Tip, which is a lot, but not considering for the lack of groomers in town. She even put a cute bandana on Stella! In short: Don't come in here expecting a fancy hair salon. It's a DOG groomer.
