If you are a steak lover don't bother.
I eat Filet Mignon (aka tenderloin) about 5 nights out of the week. The other two nights I usually do Ribeye or New York Strip. I am the ultimate steak lover, and I am an expert at cooking them at home. I have no formal training in cooking, but I love steaks, and over the years have mastered cooking them. I appreciate all types of steaks, the cuts, and how you should season and prepare each type.
So if you really know what a good steak tastes like... don't bother with this place.
We found out about this place on Yelp, it had amazing reviews and hype. We were so excited to finally try a real Florentine steak! Wow! Turns out... not so much.
I got one of their Wagyu steaks. It was so hyped up! It came from this type of cow, blah blah blah. Unfortunately it lacked any flavor. It was like the tough consistency of a Ribeye, without ANY the flavor of a Ribeye. Some salt before cooking it would have gone a long way guys... maybe some other seasoning like PEPPER? EVER HEARD OF THAT?
It was a big, flavorless slab of beef. It looks good in pictures (probably why I got sucked in) But no qualities were enticing except how it LOOKED. It looked like Fred Flintstone steak, but it tasted like bland old Aunt Hattie's Sunday roast with no seasoning.
The ambiance is cool. The glass display case full of meat makes it look like they know what they are doing.... but they don't!
You can cook a better steak at home if you took a tough London Broil and covered it with salt and pepper.
Seriously not impressed. Hype. Hype. Hype.
