We've had great luck with food here in Florence thanks to The Fork and Yelp. This place is even better than the others, which is very amazing. We had the lamb cheek (yum), seafood pasta, and Pappardelle with wild boar. All dishes tastes great! Definitely try the pappardelle with wild boar, it seems to be cooked properly for hours to reduce the sauce properly. Service was great and attentive. Credit card machine didn't work for some reason, so make sure to ask for it sooner

Wish I could give this more stars. Amazing, intimate restaurant with incredible food. The staff was friendly and personable. The steak was perfection, the veal cheek blew us away. Oh and I can't forget the pear ravioli! The pistachio cream dessert was memorable and the burrata was the creamiest I've ever tasted. It has ruined burrata for me forever! My number 1 meal of my entire two week trip to Italy! Don't miss this spot!

Cute little trattoria with amazing food. This was best meal I had in Italy and I had many excellent meals. The papardelle chiangale (wild boar) was incredible. The meat was tender, the pasta cooked to perfection and the sauce was amazing. I didn't want a massive steak, so I asked the waiter for a recommendation and I tried the sliced steak with italian fondue and truffle with arugula as well. The dish was absolutely delicious and my favorite dish of the trip. It's very different from what I normally like, but it was terrific. To finish the sicilian cannoli were delicious. The shells were crispy and the cream was delicious and there was chocolate on top. The presentation was beautiful. The service was good but on the slow side. Note: they seem to have continual issues with their credit card machine and the internet connection. We were able to pay via CC but others didn't want to wait for it to reboot and got cash from an ATM. Prices here are moderate but the quality is extremely high.

The food was amazing!!! I am glad we somehow decided to stop here at random. The other places with outside seating were all busy. In-door seating only. Chicken liver pâté with bread and the pasta were so good!!!

Butter tagliolini with truffle tasted pretty terrible, which was quite sad. The pasta tasted like it was cooked and then re-cooked to heat it up, and the truffles only partially saved this dish. The pappardelle with wild boar ragu was good but more on the salty side. The steak was the rough part though--it was way too over cooked on one half and the other half was alright. The crust tasted very hard for some reason, not like some of the other steaks we had in Florence earlier this week. Then their card machine wasn't working because there is no signal in the restaurant (which is apparently a common issue)? So they asked many tables to go to the ATM to get cash. Not convenient at all and they should have told us when we entered.

A hidden gem in Florence, the food is amazing and totally worth it. The staff are also super nice!

Happy to say this place is still just as amazing as I remember it almost 10 years ago!…read more A couple of girlfriends and I discovered Pensavo Peggio during our first trip to Italy in 2017, and it quickly became one of the reasons Florence became one of my favorite cities. Back then, I ordered the Osso Buco, Lasagna, and Tiramisu--and I still remembered how incredible everything was. So, of course, when I returned nearly 10 years later, I had to order the same meals... and yes, I said meals! Fabrizio, the same server who took care of me in 2017, asked, "Are you sure you want two dinners?" I told him, "Yes! I want to try them both." Fast-forward to 2026: I walked back in two days ago, reminded Fabrizio of our conversation, and told him I was ordering both again. He immediately started laughing. Some things never change! My boyfriend ordered the pappardelle and instantly fell in love with it. We also shared a delicious cheese and meat platter and, of course, finished with Tiramisu. Nearly 10 years later, Pensavo Peggio still holds a special place in my heart. Highly recommend this cute little spot! It just goes to show that sometimes the best memories--and the best meals--are found when you venture off the beaten path. Some places are simply worth coming back to.

The charcuterie board was big enough to share with 3 but also depends of how much you eat. lol portions tend to be smaller in Italy. However, the sandwich was a nice size. The staff was knowledgeable on all the different meats and cheeses available and were able to make recommendations based on what you prefer. We ordered a beautiful looking cheeseboard that had a variety of different hard cheeses along with different meats. The presentation was beautiful and we very much enjoyed the entire thing. It is very cool to see the different meat hanging from the ceiling in addition to the wine bottles and the cool ambience that they created in the small location. There are a handful of seats available and then there's even a back room with a few more tables to accommodate a few more people. From a price point perspective, it wasn't too bad, especially if you're swinging in for a snack and a quick glass of wine or a beer.
