What to like: fresh faced young people taking your order and handing it to you directly when it's done. Most of these folks are college kids from local schools up for the summer to work. Remember that when you tip! They all seem very happy. Burgers. A variety of burgers freshly made to order on a tasty fresh bun. Fries cooked in beef tallow. You can substitute macaroni salad but the fries...Remember how great these were back in the day? They also have a good chicken strip dinner and fish n chips. They have salads as well. Not to miss is their delicious lemonade is multiple flavors and fountain drinks. Top everything off with hand scooped ice cream and believe me the scoops are very generous. The only downside is that everything is a little pricey. However when you consider any alternative is 45 minutes away and the great people, it seems worth it. Plenty of parking and lots of nice souvenirs and fishlake clothes to browse while you wait. Highly recommended.

When we pulled in yesterday Ali (Owner) & Dan were on the roof installing this awesomely & artfully designed "Ace's Place" sign. This cafe is next door We proceeded to have a fabulous dinner before heading off to the priceless Red Hill Hot Springs up the street. Our bodies fell into a sweet slumber in comfy bed at the adjacent sweet & historic Monroe Inn! I love Ali's touch, she has thoughtfully remodeled this Inn and added such personal & artistic flair throughout the Inn & Cafe. Ali remembered I wasn't fond of lights at night & unplugged the ones in backyard. Dan is the man who seems to excel at everything including cooking! The Inn was exactly what we were looking for to recharge and reconnect outside of the big city. The Innkeeper is so wonderful and hospitable, we loved all of the little touches-everywhere from the garden to the shower curtain. There is also a stellar little diner attached to the Inn. We found the chef to be extremely passionate about his cooking and the labor of love that is the Monroe Inn. It seemed like everyone we encountered was passionate about the Inn and the beautiful little town. So many people were working together to make the Inn and its diner just the most relaxing, beautiful, and enjoyable experience. We fell in love with this sleepy little town and can't wait to go back.

I would have no trouble with my wife staying here alone. Why 5 stars? The best breakfast at one of these places I have ever had!! Bacon!!!!! Perfectly cooked and stacked high!! Potatoes were pretty good too!! I liked that I could make the mini waffles too. Easier to make crispy!! I was all excited thinking maybe this was a change that the Hamptons Inns made because I had two more to stay at on my trip..... Sadly, this one in Richfield was an anomaly .... The others had sausage .... Was also my second time eating at the Motsa Pizza down the street. Nice, hard working people there. Eat local and help them...

We went several mile out of our way to find this hotel. Other than that, I would call this a diamond in the rough! Yes lots of renovations going on by new ownership. But they weren't disturbing to us as we were passing through town. Breakfast was good with waffles, fruit, yogurt and more. Manager Denise is very enthusiastic about the renovations to pursue and was very accommodating. She was open to our suggestions for upcoming improvements.

The shower went from hot to cold what seemed like every time anyone in the hotel flushed.There wasn't even a blow dryer in the room. This place needs a lot of help.

They are small but they come with great hot and or cold water if needed with great water pressure. There is a dog wash in the back of the building. They also have a small dog pen for your dogs to run around in off leash. Ichose one of their small cabins. They are full stocked if needed (sheets / blankets and such). Each location has a deck, outside table, and fire pit. Some cabins come with more or less, just depends on what you choose. It would be nice if they had a few more tense spots. In all, Camp Host - does a great job in keeping location very clean and presentable. Job well done !!

Then the BATHROOM WAS CLOSED! That means no shower, no bathroom, and no one to complain to for a refund. Why does KOA allow them to still rent spots without some reference to this being a simple parking spot without any amenities? We would have been much better off to go and stay at a local hotel for the same price. If you are in a van or smaller RV avoid this place! Many of the sites are occupied by full time residences so it is more of a mobile home park rather than a camping spot. People driving in and out at all hours, heading to or coming home from work. Lot's of noise and again, no body around to request another spot, or to open the bath.
