I actually had an excellent experience here when I stayed for a few nights for vacation with another person. When I arrived, I was welcomed by a friendly face. The entire facility was quiet and in a nice place, close to Anaheim's packing district and downtown Fullerton (Which I totally discovered by accident!) The rooms were very clean and well organized, and it felt very home-like. After spending a day out and about, it was nice coming "home" to a quiet place where I could just unwind after a long day. I actually have never bothered to watch TV in any hotel I've ever stayed in, but I did this time. It was actually nice to be able to do that. The following morning after we arrived, we had gone to breakfast about an hour before it ended and there was variety, but I totally wish that there was a waffle making machine, I thought there was going to be one! :( Also, the Wi-Fi wasn't working, it kept disconnecting, so I had to rely on my data. When we checked out, we were also treated kindly and with happiness. With the overall experience, I recommend that you stay here. I didn't feel like I was being watched or put under a microscope, like how I've experienced at other hotels. The energy was pleasant and I believe I had seen them cleansing their space, which was awesome to see! If I'm ever back in the area, I will book here again! Where do I start? Ok I'll start with the bed, I mean slab of marble. Terrible. Pillows smelt like man's cologne. No iron. No coffee maker. But you do have a microwave and refrigerator! The white towel were blue for some reason. BLEACH or some sort of whiting agent? A "hot" shower water was warm. The fan in bathroom sounded like a roadster. The soap was from last century. It broke into pieces as I opened the small package. The price of the room was inexpensive. That should of been my first clue. Clean room. But my white socks looked as if I had walked out side without my shoes on...dirty floors. This was my mistake for not doing a bit more research. Thank goodness it was just an over night stay. They refused to honor the price I had gotten through Priceline the night before Thanksgiving! Refused to manually push the reservation through and was very rude when I asked them to. Room was sparse and the bed wasn't even a real mattress! Just some nasty bare foam with a cheap fitted sheet thrown over it. I definitely do NOT recommend! Unless you enjoy horrible customer service and being overcharged for a barely passable room. I was genuinely surprised considering the area is a very nice upper middle class neighborhood to have found somewhere that makes cockroach motels look like a 5 star resort! Rather than droning on about how bad this place is, I'll just post a combined list of everything broken or falsely advertised in our two rooms, $105 and $125, and fully documented and photographed, available upon request: 1. Burned out bedside light bulb, right nightstand. 2. Other side, light falling off the wall, socket dangling by its wires, fire hazard. 3. Toilet handle falling off. 4. Sink handle loose, barely operated. 5. 1st room TV did not turn on, 2nd room TV: 1 channel, kept shutting off. 6. No in-room coffee, as advertised. 7. Iron missing. 8. No soap. 9. Toilet had high-pitched squeal, ran all night. 10. Blanket and bedspread thin, worn and wrinkled. 11. Dresser drawer had no bottom. 12. No washcloths. 13. Dirty shower, only warm water, then went cold. 14. Placard on toilet telling users to "-remove rubber band before flushing." 15. Plywood-hard mattress, possibly to hide sags? 16. Lobby coffee: half pot, cold, clerk dug up old hardened creamer packets. The motel appears to have had experienced a remodel but all maintenance seems to have been neglected since. Front desk clerk phoned our room early in the morning to warn us to move our properly placarded, legally parked vehicle from a disabled space because, "the police will be coming..." Inexcusably rude and insulting! Front desk clerk blamed all the deficiencies on Wyndham franchise, telling us Wyndham forced them to remove amenities and wouldn't let them take care of the facilities. This was one of multiple staff lies in an experience I would characterize as dishonest, incompetent and negligent. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! I found this hotel on a travel site, a double queen room for $141--Myself, my daughter, my son, and his friend. I requested a rollaway and the gentleman seemed stressed about it. He said he could get one but it would take some time. He stepped away and was on his phone for several minutes. He asked if he could show me the room to see if it would work as is - it was a standard double queen room. I said again I needed a rollaway and he said ok, he would work on getting it there....after 10-15 mins, of pacing and making calls he said the bed he had just would not fit. He said he saw I was tired, looked at my kids waiting outside, and he would make an exception and give me an additional small room with a single bed for the price of adding the rollaway. DO NOT STAY HERE! He spent so much time talking about how he was saving me so much money, I asked several times to confirm the charges. He said the double queen was at the original price and the small one bed was the price of the rollaway ($89, which seemed high for just a rollaway) But for a separate small room with one bed was ok. He said there was a $100 refundable deposit, and he sat typing on his computer for a very long time, saying he was getting me the best rates. He would offer my AAA discount but didn't need to see my membership card. After almost 30 minutes he said numbers quickly (thick accent, I had to ask him to repeat), I thought it was high-price quotes, and he said no, those are the room numbers. He then printed many pages and asked for signatures and initials. I asked for copies, he said he would copy them for me (they were never received). DO NOT STAY HERE! Final result: The bed felt as hard as the floor, the vending machine took money and did not work, no staff to help. I was charged a $100 deposit on BOTH rooms. He charged me $223.75 for the double queen (quoted at $141) AND $189.10 for the small room (quoted at $89). DO NOT STAY HERE! A room that should have been $141 turned into $412 adding the double deposit ($200, still not returned) TOTAL = $612!!! Criminal! I wish I had pictures!!! Picture the smallest busy roadside motel with heavily smoking staff and beds made of concrete, incense burning IN THE PARKING LOT aggravating asthma, and this is it. I have booked a lot of rooms and this has by far been the worst! Once they have your credit card they will charge whatever they want, so CAUTION!.....OH!...did I mention as we were checking out, the man said we were one towel short (he counted them as we were loading the car) so I am positive that charge will appear any day now!.. My boyfriend and I came in for the holidays to visit our kids. We stayed here because it was near the area that we needed. Upon arrival to the room our bedspread had what look like a burned out hole in it. There was no coffee as described, and there was no soap. I could go on about that. They also charged us 100 extra dollars at check-in saying it was for a security deposit and we would receive that back at the end. We have now been home for two weeks and have not received it. I called. The front desk lady was incredibly rude. She did not ask our name or room number, she just told me that the room was damaged and it would not be returned. That is an absolute falsehood as we left that room immaculate. I asked for photos and she immediately hung up on me. I had the worst experience here. I sincerely had a hard week, i woke up with positivity in my heart. Did chores, went to go check in 15 mins after 3pm. Money ready to go. Everything was right... These people cancelled my booking after i asked about AAA, they said my credit card declined. That's the first, but why did you charge my card before I arrived. That's illegal and the site reads, card wont be charged until arrival. I said that weird, so i booked it again and they cancelled it. I said why, because they want a 250$ deposit. But the site doesn't read anywhere about a deposit. She than said it's 150$ and now 250$. So you pick your deposits based on customer looks. Okayyyy She charged me a cancellation fee, even though i said I'll just pay the deposit and stay. She refused to give me a room. Im out 88$ And honestly if i stayed, I would've lost 250$.. these people are evil. Parking alone is terrible. They sectioned it themselves instead the city doing it. Car spaces are close to touching. Recently stayed here and this place was completely vacant, made me think why. Didn't think much of it at first. First issue was $100 deposit which can only be taken on credit card despite me offering it in cash, in the end I agreed but had skepticism when he started saying it looks like I have money to spend so I shouldn't worry, kinda weird but I brushed it off. I get in the room and the tv wasn't working so I had to plug in several components to get it on, after messing with it for about 10 minutes I decided to call the front office and the same older male of indian decent ended up making it work (small inconvenience). The sink water pressure was so slow it took me several minutes just to wash my hands! I wonder if they are closing it to save on the water bill? What finally got to me is at checkout out when I asked for the deposit refund date, he said 3 working business days, ok no problem. After a week and still no refunded deposit I had to physically drive back there to see what was going on as all my bank transactions already posted. When I get there he was already rude so I already knew where this was going. He said that I had damaged 3 pillows and a bed spread!!! Are you kidding me, so I immediately denied that and even went as far as to say how the hell do you damage 3 pillows, his response was all 3 had blood stains on them, already super offended by that I told him to explain to me how you get 3 pillows full of blood and from where that blood came from, he just stayed quiet as I stood there, he literally had nothing to say. Until I said hey so are you going to refund me? He said no because I smoked in a no smoking room, wow! I don't even smoke!!!! After all that he pretty much was kicking me out and said he can't refund me so I left politely and said you just lost a customer.... Bottom line is they are obviously finding ways to keep your deposit because of the lack of customers there, now I know why this place has low star reviews. I was quoted $91.10 for the night and in the end charged $194.50 If you look at the pending reversal amount it was only 45 cents. Booked Two Rooms: Room 1 Room was not habitable. there were 2 light fixtures, both were broken. One was hanging over me. Light had to be replaced by front desk at 11:30 PM. Broken television did not work. Filthy bedspread and blankets looked like they went through a crinkling machine. Drawer broken below the television.. No advertized coffee in room. Cold coffee in the office that morning. No cream in the office. Desk clerk tried to find cream was in a packed and rock solid. Did not attempt to drink the coffee. The bed was ROCK solid, like you are sleeping on a piece of wood. Recieved a call from the front desk when sleeping in the morning They were hunting in the parking lot for my car. I told him it was in the handicapped space and they told me to move it then changed their mind. The desk clerk said that all the problems faced were due to Wyndam's rules. Demanded refund...none given. Room 2 Again Late Check in @11 PM. Upon arrival no soap. Had to go downstairs to get soap at the night desk. Toilet seat broken. That night the toilet made a high pitched loud noise so we got no sleep all night long. Television was broken. No coffee as described above. Beds were hard as rocks as described above. Not hot water, only warm for a short period of time. Again, asked for refund with a solid no. Please do yourself a favor and book a different hotel. read more

July 2nd 2020 for one night because my husband & myself are on a roadtrip with our small children. The stay was okay until the next morning @approx. 9:45am. I called the front desk to ask for a tad later of a check out than the normal 11am. Travelodges are known for giving 12 noon checkouts if asked. I wanted to give my babies a bath before we headed out & the man owner on the phone told me he needed my husband to come and see him at the front desk once back. I said okay & continued to take care of our kids until my husband was back with the baby shampoo I needed. As soon as he got back to the room, the phone rang. He answered& was told by a woman with an accent (woman owner I bring up soon) that tells him we cannot have a late check-out because we have a pet & now have to leave at 11am. He says "yeah, okay". We both look at the clock: It's 10:59 AM.... 1 minute. They want us to LEAVE within 1 min. Anyone with children, especially young ones knows that you have to bring a lot with you anywhere you go, especially staying somewhere overnight & that packing in that amount of time isn't reasonable. We attempt to start packing& immediately we get a LOUD banging on the door. My husband goes to open the door & some woman is SCREAMING @ him. I have no idea what the hell is happening at this point. I dont tolerate yelling around my kids so I walk to the door. There's a short Indian woman at the door and as she sees me I tell her that we're packing and we're leaving, there's no attempt to stay but that we have babies so need a few to pack up. This OBSCENE amount of obscenities came flying from her directed at us both & she is screaming at the top of her lungs, leaning into us, pointing at us. DON'T FORGET there's a pandemic going on in the midst if this and she's approached us without a mask. I can feel her breathe on my face as she's yelling. I tell her to "STOP yelling, you are scaring my kids" & her response was "It doesn't matter" & carries on calling me everything from "You fucking bitch","You dumb bitch", "You fucking bitch have a pet you fucking bitch", on and on and on. Every variation that shes capable of in between... She refuses to calm and my babies are scream crying now because of how scared they are so I shut the door... Except, the door hits the pull-out door lock. I look to my husband whom tells me that this woman had stepped into room, touched the lock with bare hands& pulled it open so she could enter the room. In California, this is very illegal. It violates of the housing laws. Also during this she has no mask and & touching everything we have to touch! She won't leave & is standing at the door screaming obscenities still so I close the door. We continue packing. A few mins later she come back & it's the same story: obscenities, scaring the kids, again. NOW, I'm definitely mad. I tell her to "leave us the fuck alone and I'm tired of scaring my kids, we are leaving, fucking GO". She threatens to call the "cops" as she calls them and we urged her to "PLEASE DO, call the police. We want you to!" That didnt provoke the reaction she wanted so she starts in with the slurs and name calling and yelling. Door shuts again. Same thing: no mask, touching the door, leaning into us in a harsh and loud tone & pointing at our faces, feeling her breathe on us. My husband starts making trips back & forth to the truck, she's standing at our truck trying to provoke by calling him names & other childish stuff. Our little family shouldn't have to endure this and at this point I'm wondering if they don't like white people. Just then I walk outside the door to hand him belongings, +1she starts taking pictures of me, I noticed there was an open- ended SYRINGE to the left of our room door next to the soda machine. Before she walks away I tell her of the syringe & she doesn't care. She walks away and leave it there. It stays there at least until we left. This place is SO FILTHY. Because of this, I obtained a picture of the syringe for later reporting of this 2 star at-best motel. This whole situation with this lady owner got so out of hand that I ended up asking another woman and man employee to "PLEASE help me keep that woman away from my children", to which they shook their heads in agreement to help me. This hotel is by far the most frustrating experience I have ever had. I booked through Priceline. Everything went as expect my card was charged 330 for 3 nights stay for myself and my parents. I had paid for the room but it was placed in my mom's name incase she checked in before I got off work at 11 pm. When we came to check in it took almost 30 minutes for someone to come to the window, then the rude lady said that unless my mom had a credit card in her name we couldn't check in, even though I paid for it. I spent 3 hours on the phone with Priceline trying to get my money back, even if it was just for only 2 nights. The hotel wouldn't respond. It's been almost 3 weeks, and priceline just reached out to me that the hotel is denying my refund. THIS HOTEL IS A CROOK. Do NOT stay here. If the hotel sees this, how do you deny a stay then keep the money? Shame on you Travelodge! read more

I don't write reviews, however in my 61yrs on this planet, I experienced hands down the worst customer service experience of my life. I'm hoping that this review detours any one even slightly thinking of staying at this establishment. It was late Saturday evening when we finally arrived at the rundown motel. Thats when the problems started. We wanted to pay cash for the room, the only english they knew was "NO". They said they didn't except cash. That we would need to use a credit card. We had to walk to Wells Fargo about 1 mile in a subpar neighborhood to deposit the cash and then use the credit card. An hour later we arrived back at the motel to check in. They ran the credit card over and over again until Wells Fargo put a stop on the card. So now I have to deal with Wells Fargo on the phone for 30 minutes to release the fraud alert. Now the card is ready to use and we're thinking the nightmare is over. The same Wells Fargo card they previously ran less than 20 minutes earlier now they say they wouldn't except. Only cash. Confused and now getting extremely upset, I asked if they where under the influence of drugs or alcohol? That would be the only logical conclusion. I left once again to find an ATM machine to withdraw the money I had just deposited. I returned and handed them the money, he then said they had no rooms left. If he wasn't behind the desk I'm afraid I would have hurt him. I did use some words to explain what I thought of them. This place is the worst place to stay in. First the bed feels like you're sleeping on cardboard with springs sandwich in-between. The faucets for the sink and shower need repair. Avoid this place like the plague! They WILL charge you the deposit. So be prepared for that. I had to call numerous times to ask about my deposit. It took them 8 days to refund me my $220. They charged me $30 for towels because I supposedly damaged them. How much damage can 1 shower do to towels? Next, their refrigerator did not work. I had to choose at least one star or it would not let me proceed with the review. Do not I repeat do not stay at this hotel it is infested with bed bugs and they do not wash the mattress pad. The mattress pad was infested with bed bug feces. My boyfriend and I rented for two nights September 22nd Friday night was our first night there notice you were getting bit but didn't think much of it we thought maybe it was mosquitoes from walking in and out to grab our things from the car going on our second night there around 8:00 p.m. my boyfriend was getting bit up again and was itching a lot so I flipped on the light switch and told him look underneath the bed something is also biting me. He then lifted the mattress and a bunch of bed bugs started running around then we noticed there was blood stains on the mattress pad which is a huge indication of bed bugs there was also feces from bed bugs on the mattress pad which you could also tell them mattress pad had to be washed and I would say month it was disgusting and infested with bed bugs and feces as you can see in these pictures. We asked for a refund and the guy said he would only refund us for one night since we had already stayed at one night it was ridiculous. read more

I came to visit a friend in town and immediately was impressed by the choice of accommodations. It wasn't a 95,000 room monstrosity but a small hotel. It's on a busy street but it's set so far back from the road that no road sounds were heard. Dinner was ordered in but when it came to sleeping the bed was an absolute nightmare. It should be replaced immediately if the owners which to retain repeat clients. So with other than the bed's horrible condition, this accommodation is recommended. read more

I stayed here for a couple nights this past Easter weekend because my church is across the street. Price seemd a bit high for what you get, but compared to other places in the area, it's definitely more affordable. It's a small, cozy motel. No pool. Definitely not a luxury place, but nice. The older man with glasses in the office was friendly. We never got to go into the office - everything was done through the outside window. The room we were given was next to the office on the first floor, so it felt pretty safe. The walls were kind of thin though. We sometimes heard the neighbors and people outside. The neighborhood here, in general, is very safe. So great location, and near lots of businesses on Imperial Hwy. The room had 2 queen-size beds, very nicely made, with very firm mattresses. The room was small and functional, but very neat and clean. No roaches or anything the entire time we stayed. We requested non-smoking, and there was no hint of smoke at all in our unit. The floor had no carpeting, but understandable because it makes cleaning easier. The shower worked great - heated up fast with strong jets! The TV remote was a little challenging to operate, but it worked. The wifi worked, but was a little slow. I will probably stay here again when I come to Brea. read more

My reservation never transferred over. I was asked to contact customer service who then said my reservation cancelled on its own - zero record of who cancelled it and why. Instead of re-instating my reservation, the agent over the phone tried to put me in a different property. I asked both the agent in front of me and the one on the phone, "Why can't you re-instate the reservation? Is the property full?" The agent in front of me just stuttered instead of giving me a definite answer and the agent over the phone asked me to hold before confirming that my reservation has been re-booked - for a higher rate! I complained and the price got dropped. She then tried to pitch a sale over the phone. This place was way over priced for such filth absolutely disgusting not only was the service horrible and the hotel almost unbearable to stay in because of the dirt everywhere but be prepared to but a $150.00 deposit down at this place. I was so grossed out with this place but unfortunately after paying $120.00 for the room and $150.00 for a deposit i was stuck with my 10 year old! The free breakfast is a joke as its individual cheap pastries but i will say coffee was good. The people in charge like to argue as they need to be right on everything. This was the worst experience ever and in a great city of Brea and has a good name Wyndham attached to it is even worse. read more

UPDATE (responding to Business Owners comment): The response from this hotel is parallel to how I was treated at their front desk. Conveniently telling my side of the story??? Lady - it's the truth. Nowhere in my original review did I blame your location for the mixup. Actually, I stated it could have been my fault. Regardless, YOU'RE IN HOSPITALITY. If you can't treat clients with respect then find another industry for crying out load. I'm not the only one here on Yelp complaining about your hostile attitude. Yes, I contacted customer service. They told me someone from the Brea Travelodge canceled my reservation. The 1-800 Customer Service rep that spoke to you was mortified. So mortified corporate refunded me my money. Again, if you're reading this considering booking here please do yourself a HUGE favor and go anywhere else. ************************************************** If I could give negative a million stars I would. The 60-some year old lady behind the desk said she had a king room (instead of 2 queen) and I asked to see it first as there were two of us. She would not let me see it until I paid which irritated me even more. I called Wyndham customer service and as I am talking on the phone with them the lady behind the desk is yelling at me at the same time. I did put my hand up to shush her (my bad but I wouldn't say it was totally rude). The customer service lady on the phone was telling me someone from the Brea location had canceled my reservation and as we are trying to figure out the details the lady behind the desk is continuously yelling. The lady behind the desk said she needed to speak to the lady from Wyndham I was on the phone with. Fine...I put her on speaker. Next thing we hear is the lady behind the desk yelling AGAIN that I was a no show and they are refusing service to me as they have the right to refuse service to anyone. I'm like WTH is happening? Honestly I think it was a discrimination issue and I will be back to speak to the owner. Whatever you do don't book here. Whether the issue with the reservation was on me, Brea or Wyndham is yet to be determined. But to have this lady treat a guest the way she treated me is appalling. Thankfully the Fullerton Marriott had a beautiful room with a great bar for only $24 more. No brainer. Book at the Fullerton Marriott over this horrible place. read more

The staff are friendly but this hotel isn't the greatest... The hot water turns cold after 5 minutes, no water pressure in the shower, and the tub won't hold water if you want a bath or to bathe a child. The breakfast is a joke and there was barely anything out the last 2 days of my stay. The beds are uncomfortable and the pillows smell like old broom closet. I wouldn't recommend this place, but it's okay for being a cheap hotel. read more

Extremely disappointed considering this is posted as a Wyndham location. Bed was hard as rock and the bed sheets and towels looked and felt like it was not used or changed in months. Paid $121 for one night - it was not even worth $60. Find another location - it will serve you well to do so. Will never stay here again! read more
