    Dead bug
    Matt K.

Overall, a quiet location . Thats about the real only positive here. But alas , its also a negative .. because its so quiet you can hear the bugs crawling in under the non sealed door to the room. Also , i can fart harder than the air conditioning in that room can blow. It took forever to get cool .. it was an old tired unit. Also , the bed was unexpectedly firm . Like really firm. Wasnt a prob for me .. but maybe others it might be . It was cheap if you are looking for the lowest price in brea.

Pending transaction gone!!! And charged $194.50 instead of the original $91.10 quoted

Recently stayed here and this place was completely vacant, made me think why. Didn't think much of it at first. First issue was $100 deposit which can only be taken on credit card despite me offering it in cash, in the end I agreed but had skepticism when he started saying it looks like I have money to spend so I shouldn't worry, kinda weird but I brushed it off. I get in the room and the tv wasn't working so I had to plug in several components to get it on, after messing with it for about 10 minutes I decided to call the front office and the same older male of indian decent ended up making it work (small inconvenience). The sink water pressure was so slow it took me several minutes just to wash my hands! I wonder if they are closing it to save on the water bill? What finally got to me is at checkout out when I asked for the deposit refund date, he said 3 working business days, ok no problem. After a week and still no refunded deposit I had to physically drive back there to see what was going on as all my bank transactions already posted. When I get there he was already rude so I already knew where this was going. He said that I had damaged 3 pillows and a bed spread!!! Are you kidding me, so I immediately denied that and even went as far as to say how the hell do you damage 3 pillows, his response was all 3 had blood stains on them, already super offended by that I told him to explain to me how you get 3 pillows full of blood and from where that blood came from, he just stayed quiet as I stood there, he literally had nothing to say. Until I said hey so are you going to refund me? He said no because I smoked in a no smoking room, wow! I don't even smoke!!!! After all that he pretty much was kicking me out and said he can't refund me so I left politely and said you just lost a customer.... Bottom line is they are obviously finding ways to keep your deposit because of the lack of customers there, now I know why this place has low star reviews. I was quoted $91.10 for the night and in the end charged $194.50 If you look at the pending reversal amount it was only 45 cents. He never intended to return my deposit, he knew exactly what he was doing.

    DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!.

I will not be coming back to this place. The bed is hard as hell to sleep on. No comfort at all. The sheets where not changed. I found a hair with rubber band under the blankets and other crap. The worst hotel I been at.

Open-ended laying there. Woman owner didnt care when told, walked away. Would rather take pictures of us.

A huge water feature on the atrium's ground floor relaxes guests during their phenomenal complimentary breakfast. And our small balcony provided views of the Puente Hills as a backdrop behind Brea's Birch Street. Despite being a 36-year-old hotel, it's been modernized and updated quite nicely. The pool is surrounded by trees and very private. The rooms are incredibly quiet. Maybe the only downside is that guests have to pay a daily rate for parking a car in the garage beneath the hotel. You'd think this would be included in the rather steep price we paid for a corner suite, or at least for us Hilton Honors loyalty members for nearly 20 years now! But all the other aspects about this facility are nice.

So, my experience with Hilton and this property is vast. This property a few years ago did go through an upgrade to the front entrance, lobby, front desk area, and the main dining area that is beyond the lobby. The remodel or update though done a few years back is excellent. It is very inviting and exactly what you would expect from a Hilton Embassy Suites property. Devin and the front desk team are exceptional! Prompt, professional, and very customer service oriented. Beyond those two notable items in which this property shines, it falls off a steep cliff after that! The rooms are dated. They are dingy. They are marked up, beat up and rusted in various parts of the rooms (or at least the ones I have stayed in). Some of the rooms have drawers that do not close so they are open. Some of the phones do not work int he rooms. Lamp fixtures are crooked because they are old and just beat up. There are stains on sofa's, walls, counter tops, etc. In the shower, there are yellow rust stains and cracks throughout. Toilet paper simply doesn't stay on the bar so it's often rolling off and onto the floor. Housekeeping is lack luster. Trying to get a room that has the adequate towels, wash clothes, coffee, etc. is almost comical at this point. The parking garage which they now charge for is consistent with other Hilton properties, but the issue is it's old. I am not sure who owns the garage as the salon next door uses it as well. The spaces are narrow. Trash builds up in the cans. Lots of areas taped off. Some cracks and pipes that have either leaked or previously caused damage. While it is a park at your own risk, I would expect Hilton to have these issues fixed to be a better space for their guests who do need to park there. The property is in a great location for restaurants, nightlife, shopping etc. It's just gotten to the point that Hilton needs to overhaul the rooms and garage at this point. Staying at a Hampton Inn these days, trumps this property and that is just sad.

Parking lot is nice, clean, and only $13 to park per day, right in front of the front door. Giant suites over 500 square feet. Elevators were pretty fast even though there are 5 floors, we never had to wait more than a minute or 2. Complimentary breakfast buffet, pretty standard but free and included. Eggs, Waffles, yogurt, etc. The room was large, clean, and new. The decor was modern, and looks nice. The sitting area was spacious and a large TV with easy to connect to your HDMI cord and computer to be able to watch what you want. Then you had the bedroom area, separated and with a door, it had a decent size TV as well. The bed was pretty comfortable too. The room was decent size and fairly quiet, even though we were next to a busy street. Then you had the separate large bathroom, with a nice large shower. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided in dispensers inside the shower. We did not check out the pool or cabanas, but they looked nice from inside. Most recently when I was working with an Internet company required to be in the field, I got extremely busy with phone calls, and had a huge deposit along with my booking for my room. When it was due to be rebooked, I wound rush downstairs since they would not take payment over the phone. One day, Ivonne, I believe, had called and informed me they had to re run my card, I was on the other line with my manager from work. She got extremely hostile with me and I hung up the phone on her. I had around $1500 deposit on hold for several days, I told her I would come re extend downstairs. She raised her voice and tone and I hung up the call, she called back and asked: "Did you just hang up on me? ", knowing I had a $1500 deposit on my room I was looking for my card to rebook. When I hung up the call, she called back and stated I could not rebook due to hanging up the call on her (very weird and personal I know), then I told her I would come down with the card to rebook, and she proceeds to say: "No you are not rebooking", and I asked to speak to higher management, and she stated she was higher management, and to leave the property. She got on a power trip and I had been staying there for a few weeks already, and wanted to speak to higher management about telling me to leave. She then jumps straight to saying: "And now you're getting abrasive, so if you do not leave the property, I will calling the police department". So at that point, not only was I being rudely told to leave with a large deposit on file (around $1500) she also threatened me with the police when I simply responded to her questions over the phone, she accused me of doing something I was not doing . I didn't actually have time to even argue with her since my boss kept calling me on the other line. I used to love staying here because they provide breakfast and meals. There are sketchy workers in the parking lot when you come and go at late hours of the night if you are alone. IVONNE HAS A TERRIBLE ATTITUDE, I NOTICED THIS THE FIRST WEEK OF MY CHECK IN WHEN I COMPLIMENTED HER HAIRCUT, AND SHE BATTED HER EYES AND SAID "THANK YOU" AND PROCEEDED TO CUT ME OFF SO SHE CAN REVERT BACK TO THE RESERVATION DISCUSSION, LOL she is super rude (I WAS JUST BEING FRIENDLY SINCE I HAD BEEN DRIVING ALL DAY AND WAS GLAD TO REST UP). I WILL BE POSTING THIS REVIEW ON SEVERAL PLATFORMS AS YOU DO NOT THREATEN PEOPLE WITH POLICE WHEN THEY HAVE NOT THREATENED YOU IN ANYWAY. IVONNE INITIATED THE ARGUMENT OVER THE PHONE, AND STATED I WAS GETTING ABRASIVE. I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO ARGUE WITH HOTELS THAT I ENJOYED STAYING AT. I WILL BE REPORTING THE STAFF. Breakfast wasn't the best, but acceptable considering it was included with the stay. A lot of carbs and meat. The eggs weren't normal scrambled eggs but some type of patty with stuff mixed it that seemed questionable lol. Coffee though was very good. Just had a yogurt (would recommend though that they get some plain yogurt because the ones they had all had fruit or vanilla in as it's extra sugar) and a piece of fruit. The motel includes a complimentary shuttle to Disneyland and back which I took advantage of. Note if you are looking to rope drop, you will want to find another way to get there as the first shuttle is at 7:30 AM so not enough time but it worked out well for me. This is great value when you think about it as it's $40 to park at Disneyland and the more affordable motels walking distance to the park are often gross and you have to pay to park there as well. Room was clean, water pressure was good in the shower, and having a fridge was nice to have as I had some leftover food from dinner (front desk staff was kind enough to allow me to store a to go box after check out which was very much appreciated). Only suggestions I have is that management respond to email as I tried to reach them before my stay a couple of time with zero response. Also breakfast could be better for an IHG property which is normally pretty good. I'd recommend hard boiled eggs, normal scrambled eggs, and home fries which I typically see at IHG properties. All in all, would easily return and recommend to other people.
