My wife and I have stayed at MANY Extended stays. Most of which are alright but this location is hands down the worst hotel we've ever stayed at. DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY!!!! Appliances were rust-stained & outdated. Only 2/3 lights by our bed worked. The bathroom was disgusting. Between the mold on the shower caulking & gunk on the shelves, the weird red stains on our shower ceilings lining didn't seem so noticeable. Comparing to other guests pictures, we had one of the "cleaner" bathrooms smh. Hair all over our bathroom floor and spread throughout the room. Scratches on the floor from people moving appliances. Omg!!!!! This is awful!!!!! It's old!! I'm afraid to use the rusty ancient microwave, the stove top only half works, the pans and cookware are so grossly used and scratched, I got a dirty coffee pot that took several flushes to use for hot water, the sink has a constant drip, the bathtub and shower have chipping and nasty grout. The door doesn't seal and let's air and sound in. Everything is so old and falling part THEY should be embarrassed to charge more than $50 a night!!!! Get rid of the bed bugs, the dirty nasty looking bathtub, sink, non operating smoke alarms, windows that don't lock, rusty stovetop, and nasty counters . Stayed here with my wife in Feb 2025. Reserved for 2 nights, left after the first night. I should ask for a refund, or actually a refund should just be given to me after this review. The room is nasty dirty. The bathtub looks disgusting(see photo), the sink is nasty (photo), the smoke alarm had no cover and the battery was just hanging out of it. The stove top was rusted, there looked like what could be mold on the ceiling outside the bathroom, and to top it off my wife was used as a buffet for bed bugs. Totally disgusting . I came from my doctor's appointment on December 11,2024 and I called the front desk to inquire about housekeeping since it's been nine days since I checked in and their housekeeping policy is 8-9 days after check -in . This front desk agent stated that it had to be done the following day .So I called the following morning on December 12th and Carla , the female front desk agent stated it will be done as confirmed . I came back after a long and stressful day at work and to my shock and dismay , the sheets have not been changed and the towels were scattered about on the floor . I was so appalled that I called the front desk agent that night and asked for a room change . It was a long day and o was tired and as soon as I got inside the room , I almost had a severe asthma attack and I had bed bugs from the previous night . Vanessa , the front desk agent that night , offered me fresh sheets and towels with the room getting cleaned the following day . On the night of December 19th , a week after the last cleaning service was done ,i asked to be put on the housekeeping board which the front desk agent confirmed . I called the front desk agent Nick who told me there was a shortage and it had to be done the following day after he asked me to come to the front desk and demanded me to come back in which was rude . I went to the front desk agent again that night and the female front desk agent confirmed o was on the list . On my way out this morning , I called the front desk agent and a male rep stated they have a shortage of housekeepers and it may not be done today . He even had the nerve to call me back to confirm it may not be guaranteed and I assume it was the same ride front desk agent Nick that called .This is nothing but the runaround so I agree with all the reviews being worse than mine stating that no housekeeping ever came to clean their rooms . They are always short-staffed and unprofessional . This is the reason why I am sick more than half the time here .STAY AWAY . Front desk agent especially Nick is horribly rude . Now I was told there was only one maid today tasked with cleaning the entire property which is ridiculous as if they can't hire an extra person to tidy up the rooms on the list . There was no sense of professionalism or composure. It upset me to see the manager refuse to let me know any updates with our stay and policy. Me and my spouse are LGBTQ and we felt targeted. On short notice we were kicked out for not being able to add our guest onto our reservation due to him being in the hospital. All the other workers were nice and helpful up until last notice behind the manager Carla and her accusations. Although she is manager I understand they have right to refuse service. We have been staying there for quote enough time. We have two dogs and the fee for them is $20; but when you stay there long enough the fee is reduced to $10 a day. Them sticking to that policy was like pulling teeth for us. They had falsely accused us of having many guests come and go which was completely untrue. Considering those prove all we had time to do was work. When I tried to ask the manager the issue regarding our stay she refused to talk to me and acknowledged that she already talked to my partner. When my partner came to me worried and confused I went down immediately in hopes clear the confusions with my phone in hand just for the sake of proof of policy and compliance. I kindly asked her what her name was and she ran to the back office and slammed the door. All I wanted to know as one of the registered guests on the room was the name of the person wrongfully kicking me out. But she hid. So I kindly talked to one of the other workers who had previously helped us make our reservation for the next couple of nights. Although I couldn't prolong my stay that they approved for reservation the night before.. all they could do was tell me the managers reasoning but they were able to confirm her name with me. (Carla I believe it is). Another incident that had occurred during my stay was with my guest the one who was in the hospital; when he came back he went to walk his dogs one day and the manager knowing he's our guest refused to ask him personally for his ID. Knowing she neeeded it and it was one of her complaints. He had asked Carla to get poopie bags for a mess his dog made. At first she refused and told him to walk all the way to the back of the building and get some from the station they have . Mind you the heat is it's all time highest and he is just tryna be respectful and pick after is dogs mess which is on their property. And his response was that he could leave it there; but that not what he wanted to do ( which is why he asked for bags in the first place.) He had also brought to her attention that the stations are out of bags and are hardly filled up ever. She finally caved in and gave him bags. Later on that day he told us but we just kept quiet we bc didn't want problems with the manager knowing she can do as she please having the upper hand. I didn't know how hard it would be to receive the bare minimum. When it came to asking for a new set of sheets or towels they failed to accommodate multiple times. (No, I'm not talking hours I'm talking a couple days late.) Fast forward to the moment Carla refused to talk to me although I was registered under the room and had every right to know. After she stomped off and slammed the door and I got information from the workers and proof on video I went up with my partner to go pack up... on such short notice. I find it ridiculous the lack of communication over these adding accusations till the very last minute when we are paying for our extension which we indeed receive a confirmation for When we were walking back to our room to pack the cops had arrived and I went to grab my guest so that we could express to them that there is no lack of compliance . Moving isn't our issue but any grown adult knows these things take time. And they could've told us before approving our reservation; the night before. I was told that all these things were noted and if they were I'm confused as to why these things weren't voiced out till when we are paying. We are a 24 years old Hispanic LGBTQ married couple and our "unregistered guest" (which is our dear family) is a black in between his 30s-40s who lost his mom recently. We understand this is an extended stay and not a "ritz" but just the targeting is unfair and unprofessional. Honestly we were going to keep our complaints to ourselves but she called the cops saying we were causing commotion on the office after she ran away slamming the door refusing to give her name. I could tell she didn't like us but it wasn't apparent till she pulled all these Things last minute. Once again I'm not mad but just a little upset the is a manager and the face of the company at that location. If there are any false accusations about leaving the room in a certain condition... Put it bluntly, this building needs to be demolished, burnt down to the ground so they can restart afresh. I have no idea what kind of health code or standards this establishment is running on but if there is any my guess it's the standards of a slum in an under-privileged, under-developed country. Starting from the checkin process everything was crummy. They were doing power washing upstairs and dirty water was just straight up flushed down RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE MAIN ENTRANCE. Like a water park! Wanna play quickly pass the gate so you don't get drenched? Yeah that was the entrance experience. Only you really don't want that water touching you cuz it's power washed grime from their dirty nasty floor. Once I made it through the entrance, I was greeted by the stage boss, Troy. I'm not gonna waste much time describing this individual. You can read other peoples experience. Although he didn't give me much hard time or attitude, I can assure you they're not joking or exaggerating. One thing I'll echo is that he asked me a lot of questions pertaining to why I picked their location, almost as if he knew the building is a slum and I looked outta place checking in here. Once I got checked in, I brought a couple stuff in to the room. And first thing that greeted me was the strong musky stench. It almost smells like a smoking room despite its non-smoking. Perhaps it's mold? Idk. It wasn't pleasant to say the least. I then reluctantly checked the rest of the room. Disgusting corners around the room, unknown liquid drip stain along side the walls, sticky old beat up wooden floor, sticky kitchen counter top, absolutely old AF wood cabinet that looks like it was last installed in 1980. Jeez, the list goes on. I reluctantly checked the bathroom and the bed. Shower at least works and the bed is wrapped in bed bug protection sheet. After that my partner came in and needless to say she was appalled. Just as we were discussing how a place like this would likely be infested with browny, there came one. For context, she's deathly afraid of roach so we call it browny instead. Luck for us it was a dying one that magically appeared in the tub. I can assure you when I checked the shower it wasn't there cuz I ran the water and the shower head. So within about 10-15min of coming into the room, a browny appeared. I can only imagine the size of the swarm that's lurking in the darkness of this cursed building. Upon seeing that, we quickly grabbed all of our belongings, packed the car again and went to the front desk to request checkout. I was expecting Troy to give me a hard time base on my checkin experience. Surprisingly, he gave me a full refund without saying much. Almost as if he expected that. The one thing I would share is that I was trying to explain why we couldn't possibly stay after seeing a browny, he gave me one of those SUPER forced fake smile and a snarky "I said OK" I've never been in a nastier Extended Stay and I've been to many throughout the states. I'm not kidding when I said the worst Motel6 I stayed in the middle of the California desert was better than this cuz at the minimum I was able to tolerate a night. This place? The first room they gave us was on the backside, obviously activity going on at the back. Look like drug activity. Raise your hand if you stayed at a hotel where you had to fully make your own bed? Well I have. I checked in with a rude and careless attendant. He didnt tell me where my room was, breakfast or wifi information. When I got to my room we soon checked the bed and noticed that it wasn't clean. The sheets were stained and with a bunch of hair on each blanket and cover. We called the front desk to get this resolved before 5pm. It's 6. Nothing. I go down at 615 to ask what's going on and it's a new guy at the desk and he apologized for the inconvenience and said no notes were left so he would send the maid up to fix it. It's now 730. Nothing. 8pm NO one has still came. We call the front desk again. A while later the guy comes with bags of blankets and says nothing. Wtf? Your people need help and training. It's a old place which is what it is. Can't won't complain over that BUT we went to give our daughter a bath and the freakin paint in the tub is chipping off as it tub is filling. First of all, there were no other hotel rooms available in Brea, and we were only there to sleep after an event.. but still, I really was hoping for a better first hotel stay experience for my daughter. A disgustingly dirty and run down room at the Extended Stay America in Brea, Ca. It was SHOCKING! Cabinets were grimy, broken and peeling, kitchen stove tops were rusted out, bed sheets were untidy, bed ruffles were extremely wrinkled, door jams were filthy, bathroom had makeup stains on counters, and not even a soap dish or tray to place the tiny packaged soap after using it. Honestly, who would want to use soap after it had to sit on the counter that didn't look sanitized. We ended up using shampoo as hand soap. I had to iron my clothes on a rickety ironing board that wobbled terribly. It was as if everything was purchased from a garage sale! I was embarrassed for the employees and couldn't even imagine having to admit to friends where they worked. The owners should be ashamed of themselves! If it hadn't been so late and we weren't so exhausted after my daughter's event, we would not have stayed in the hotel. There is this one set of employees who shouldn't be working in hospitality. Truthfully, I dont even believe they know what the word hospitality means. They works in the mornings during the week, a large white dude with glasses and a very very large lady with a permanent stank face and even stankier attitude. FRAUD ALERT!!! I booked my two day stay thru Expedia. They charged me $200.17 Upon check in, hotel staff told me the Expedia payment did not process and they asked for my credit card. They ended up double charging me. When I asked them to rectify, they said I had to fix it with Expedia since they couldn't see the credit card transaction. If you're looking to stay at the dirtiest hotel where squatters are living, then this is the place for you. There is dog poo all over the landscape. A homeless person sleeping in the bushes. Empty beer and liquor bottles littered all over outside. The room stunk like covered up cigarette smoke smell. The couch was filthy and the shelves were falling off the wall. The microwave outlet was pulled out of the wall and exposed. The bathroom tub was dirty and rusty. The front door was all scratched up and the door jam paint was all peeling off into the bathroom. We were shown two other rooms that were worse than our original room. I think newly released prisoner are staying here. We were told 26 people are living there and many are squatters. I did not feel safe here at all. We suggested to one of the nice employees that they should aim higher for a place of employment. That's how bad this place is. read more

The only reason why I didn't leave the hotel was because we were super tired since we had been driving all day and also because we didn't see that tub until the following morning when we we're getting ready to check out. We booked this hotel for two nights through Expedia. The photos they have online are deceiving. Rooms are tight and small. We initially booked a room with a king and sofa bed, but we weren't happy with it. First, the room felt dingy and stuffy. Second, the corner of the room smelled like urine. So we requested another room with two beds in which the front desk was very accommodating. The second room, nothing worked! The room was dark because none of the lamps worked. I tried calling the front desk and the phone also didn't work. We have never walked away from a reservation, but this was bad. We ended up leaving to another hotel nearby. This is by far the worst hotel we've come across. Three words... dingy, dark and musky. I do have to give props to the front office girl named Marissa. She was very nice and understanding of our displeasure. We got a full refund from Expedia even though it was past the cancellation deadline and against policy. We had a horrible experience with staff trying to get in your room late at night saying they are just trying to see if you checked in. How do you not know if someone checked in when they check in at front desk and they gave you keys to your room. My company booked this room while I was in town for a training session. This place is a $h!thole! Super noisy, thin walls and ceiling allow you to hear every conversation and footsteps from your neighbors. The toilet fails to flush without removing the tank cover and giggling the float. The tub has chipped and flaking ceramic, it actually looks like paint and the damn thing drains so slow you have to stand in a 3" puddle when you shower. Tile grout is moldy as well. When we arrived, we were told they had no rooms available for us - they'd overbooked and had made some unavailable due to maintenance issues. It was nearly midnight, we'd been traveling all day, and we were exhausted, only to find that we had no place to stay! I've never heard of a hotel denying a room to someone who has already booked and paid for a room. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Ok, the room rate is reasonable for OC. The place is easy to find, a central location. The parking lot is big, well lit, and police cruise through here all day and night. But there's a reason for that. There's a lot of shady characters who seem to be permanent residents here. Many of them hang out in the parking lot, in the office, or smoking in the stairwells. Watch that you don't step in vomit or dog poop in the parking lot (there's a lot of it). The room seemed clean but well worn and quite outdated. The sofa sleeper had all the comfort of a torture chamber, iron springs and all. There's no ice machine. Yeah, that about covers it. Awful customer service. Got out of a concert late and was told we couldn't check in because there were "no rooms available" . And staff then told us that early check in was 10$ per hour and we'd be looking at $300 in fees if he checked us in at that moment when he had just said there were no rooms available ??. We decided to come back in the morning and do early check in. Check in time is 3pm so we tried to check in at 12. Was told there were no rooms available yet the parking lot was empty. Sat in the parking lot for 3 hours. It's finally 3 and we go to check in and this guy is just giving everyone and their mother trouble at the front desk. Every single person trying to check in, There's an issue. After waiting in the lobby I gave them my ID and credit card. The man says they don't accept my kind of card. It's a local credit union and it's a visa. He hadn't even tried my card yet and he wanted to deny me using it. He must've thought it was a prepaid card or something but he said "we usually don't take these but since you guys have been waiting we'll take it this one time. Next time have a card from a major bank" Like what the actual hell how u gon tell me what bank to use It's a card with money on it just like any other. On top of that the room was under my name and he IDd my guest who lost his ID so he had a temporary license from DMV and they did not accept it. Since when do hotels card guests? In an effort to get away from the Long Beach Marathon madness (road closures, ugh), I planned a mini staycation in Brea. I chose the Extended Stay in Brea as it was between the Brea Improv that I had planned for Saturday night and Yorba Linda trails I was going to run on Sunday morning. Getting there and parking were easy, check-in was smooth and the room served the purpose that I needed it to. It was cozy with a comfortable queen-sized bed, large television, well-functioning AC (I love me a chilly hotel room), kitchenette and clean bathroom. The only missing amenities that I would've liked to have were a microwave and bathtub stopper. I checked in around 5:00pm and then hit the Whole Foods around the corner en route to the comedy club. I wanted to sleep in a bit after a late night of laughs but was awoken at ~4:00am by loud conversation in the parking lot. I spent my Sunday morning running the trails of Yorba Linda (so beautiful and hilly!) and was looking forward to returning to my room for a hot, Epsom salt bath... only to discover there was no tub stopper! Argh, I settled for a boring shower and chilled in the big bed before checking out at 11:00am. The Extended Stay America Suites Brea is a clean, comfortable, and accommodating no-frills hotel. I would definitely stay here again either for a quick overnight or a couple of days. read more

So I called front desk to tell me she is the only person working on a 100 unit and 1 minute later banged on my door, threw both pillow and toilet paper on my face and left. and then banged on it again to tell me to leave! So happy to leave this place late at night. Lavetta Jones is rude, unprofessional and very demeaning! Lobby has "no mask, no entrance" signs all over so when I jokingly asked why she(and her manager) wasn't wearing their mask, she just said she left it in her car. And she thinks I was rude for pointing it out. I'm ok with that. Now for the review, pillows and blanket smells like homeless individual slept on it for days. The room was dirty and not sanitized. The dresser drawers were dirty, No way would I put my clothing inside those dirty drawers, AND the smoke alarm was hanging off the wall, black hair on the counter, as I said, it was never sanitized. Also the front desk person never told my sister she would have to request a coffee pot and no bottled water provided in the room. We did not know any of this and when I spoke to front desk person about this she said 'oh I meant to tell you'. This is not acceptable, none of this is. My sister flew in from Oregon only to stay in a dirty unkept room for an outrageous price along with a high risk for covid staying in an unsanitized room. Also when I called customer service to ask for corporate office number they don't know how to read phone numbers and kept giving me transposed numbers. I had to call 3 times to get the right number with an intelligent person. Do not even consider staying here, among everything I mentioned, its not safe for your health. read more

Record breaking for the worst hotel I have ever booked. My experience here has jaded me to ever booking a hotel anywhere to be honest. There were blood stains on the curtains. Room wasn't cleaned. Cockroaches everywhere. Dirty bathroom. Unwashed pillows and sheets. A DISGRACE TO ALL EXTENDED STAY HOTELS, or should I call it motel. With no exaggeration whatsoever, the room literally looked like a murder scene. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. For anyone looking into this hotel, you're already making a mistake by considering it. Just don't. Don't even try. Carpets weren't cleaned. NOTHING was sanitary to the point it made my family and I wonder what the the cleaning ladies do as their job. read more

Avoid this location. Not worth the hassle. Not clean and staff is horrible! No manager present during the weekend

Our stay at this location was only for one night. The room was clean considering it was not newly furnished. The bathroom however is in need of major repairs. The floor is in bad condition and the sink is about to come off the wall. I did mention this to the front desk when I checked out. read more

When I arrived, there was what seemed like a homeless woman with all her stuff just standing in the parking lot. Then, I saw the same woman (with all her stuff) in the lobby in the early morning eating the free small packages of breakfast items meant for guests. No one with the hotel seemed to kick her out. I can only give this place 1 star. Sure, it's a bargain price and my room was fairly clean, although it totally reeked of cigarette smoke when I first go there and that never really left the room. This place is no better than a Motel 6 and in fact most Motel 6's are cleaner. The walkways here are quite dirty. On the plus side, they allow dogs so this may be one of the few options available to you if you had a dog. The neighborhood is seemingly pretty good, with one of those modern young conservative Orange County churches right across the street and mostly office parks around, so why is this hotel itself so bad?? I think this place being a block a way from a social security administration office may have something to do with some of the sketchy people sometimes hanging around this hotel, like potential druggies and people with mental health issues. The cheap rate may also make it a likely place for a homeless person to get a room when they have the cash. read more
