I booked a room with these guys thru tripadvisor. I needed wifi to finish some work when we got there we were told the wifi was down. I asked for an immediate refund they refused. Pool is closed too. Front desk staff rude and unhelpful. I am tired of these budget hotels price gounging for shoddy buildings and services. The room itself was cleanish but the facilities are soooo outdated. The shower head was hust a nozzle that sprayed hard water. I would have rather slept in my car than pay $200 for the slum of a room that it was. This was the worst hotel we stayed at while driving from OR to Los Angeles. You heard every noise in other rooms especially when the room upstairs turned on their water for a shower at 6am in the morning. The breakfast was basic and nothing more plus they ran out of seats so we had to stand awkwardly until someone finished. The check in was the only part I liked. It was quick and easy and the person at the front desk was so friendly. Otherwise I was very disappointed and would not recommend this hotel even for a quick night stop. read more

It's a place to sleep, and little more. Location is fine; within walking distance of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Denny's, Starbucks, and most of downtown Eureka. Accomodations are bare bones, though. No tissue box, refrigerator, or microwave in the rooms, though there is a hair-dryer. Free continental breakfast includes donuts, prepackaged pastries, corn flakes, and coffee, all of which are set on a little bench at the tiny front desk. You're better off walking (or driving, depending on the weather) to a grocery store, cafe, or restaurant for some real food. I chose this place due to it's price and the proximity to Lost Coast Brewery. That being said, it's pretty much what I expected. It's a Motel, not a Hotel, so amenities are not the name of the game. Finding it was easy, as it's along Hwy 101, so that was cool. Checking in was a trip though. I got a discounted rate through work and the Broken English- speaking clerk kept asking how I got such a low rate. Finally she walked away and sent out another employee that spoke better English to finish the check-in process. After that it was a little better. Other than reiterating that I didn't have any pets, everything went smoothly. The charge for pets is less than I've seen at other places, so that's something to keep in mind if you're traveling with a pet and looking for a place to stay. The room itself was nothing special. Pretty standard, if tiny room. One thing though, the shower head is pretty low. I'm pretty short and I still bumped my head on it. Anyone over 5'10" will definitely have an issue with it. As far as noise goes, it's noisy as F! Hwy 101 is pretty much at your doorstep so there is lots o' road noise. Factor in thin walls and it could get pretty annoying if you're sensitive to sounds. One last thing, as I drove up I got the impression that this is exactly the kind of place where shady dealings take place. I kept picturing the scene in Scarface where the cat gets chainsawed in the shower. I didn't see any shady dealings when I was there, but I'm just saying, it's that kind of vibe. read more

There was no spread on the bed, just a brown thermal blanket with dirt smudges. Sheets were clean. Shampoo and soap but nothing else. Nice hot water. Breakfast abysmal. Noisy from the street. But it was cheap and within easy walking distance of downtown. Outside staircases could use some TLC. read more

Do Not Stay Here! #1. We were traveling for a 30-day trip from Colorado to Astoria, Oregon, down the Oregon Coast to San Francisco and back to Colorado. We made all our reservation with the same notice that we were traveling with our dog. We had no problems until we arrived in Eureka and this Travelodge. This was one of our longest days of driving and we were glad to finally reach our destination. When we checked in we were told our dog would not be allowed in the room because the room was just renovated. We were never notified that we would not be able to bring our greyhound into the room. The manager reminded us of this each time we entered our room. I mentioned back that it would have been nice to know that when we made our reservation. #2. This is not located in a good part of town. We were told to remove everything from our car but since we had to leave the car windows open because of the dog needing to sleep in the car we were worried all night. #3. We heard the people upstairs talking and walking. The walls and ceilings were not well insulated. #4. The room was not air-conditioned. #5. Between the worry of the car, the possibility of our car being broken into or worse and the noise we did not sleep well at all. The next day we needed to change many of our travel plans and reservations because we needed to take an extra day to rest...but not at this nor any other Travelodge! read more

The behavior of people that work here totally unprofessional.we could not check in at check in time 3:00 pm refuse to give refunds.not recommended at all not clean. employees were not wearing mask very rude customer service .when talking to the manager that seems to be running the whole facility so( no one else working other then him)he was very rude and did not have an answer for us and still charge our card for a room that we never stayed in. awful terrible experience looks like homeless people were in the parking lot waiting to rob cars. this property is nothing like the depiction on booking.com; it is run down and dirty. the room rate we were given when we booked the room changed drastically when we arrived and when we looked online for current rates it was much lower than we were being charged. I reached out to booking.com customer service and he told me there was nothing he could do. the hotel refused to do anything to adjust the rate as well. Thank god the company paid for my rooms otherwise I most likely would have delivered a 3 star. Price seemed a bit steep for what they offered but the room did the job and they were okay with swapping rooms if you wanted to relocate. The TV was from the 90's and barely cut it. Service at the front desk was very strange, almost as if they didn't want me to stay here. Asked me about three times whether I smoked or had a pet with us. No I don't! Why do you keep asking? The room wasn't the nicest I've stayed in and the shower was really cramped, but the room seemed clean enough. But hey, it was only $ 56.00 for the night so there really is no reason to complain! As we drove up to the mote, it was easy to find off Highway 101. Since the place was next to the freeway, it was pretty loud with all the road noise. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room. We had free WiFi in the room which was nice. Another added benefit was a free continental breakfast. Some other down sides of the room would be paper thin walls and the wall plugs were up too high and made it hard to charge our cell phones. read more

Not the best nite Ive had but then again I only paid $50 so I wasnt expecting much. Ice machine was frozen which really was a bummer but being right across the street from the Co-Op made the issue not all that big as they happily will give you ice and water if you ask... I missed the breakfast but went to the office where I asked for some cereal and sure enough I left with a large bowl of Frosted Flakes... The one real issue was that the walls were quite thin and while I didnt have anyone all that loud next to me it could be worse for others. read more

Definitely no frills, but clean and with a comfortable bed and reliable wifi. Not in the best part of town and in a very noisy location which was a problem because these rooms had no air conditioning, so we had to leave the front window open to get some ventilation. This motel is false advertised. The pictures online made is seem nice but after checking in, its a little run down. I asked the lady in the front desk to change rooms because I couldn't bare the smell of the room and she gave me such a hard time saying i had to pay $10 extra for a King when i wanted a queen. The lady raised her voice and started yelling at me saying that isn't her fault for me not getting some sleep. Then she told us to get out. Who in their right mind starts yelling at a customer to get out? I approached her in nice calm way about this situation and it blew out of proportion. Worst possible experience, avoid the hotel at all cost. First they took advantage of Memorial Day rush to sell me a room for 250 bucks for a room that will go for 60 bucks. Added another 30 bucks as tax. Gave them benefit of doubt but then the manager tells me that card machine not working and took my full card details. 3 days later the swiped my card again for 50 bucks. When I call they say some weird scarf is missing. No clue what that is, totally untrue, plain lie. Suspecting their dubious behavior of this couple, I kept all the receipts to ensure they don't get away easily. The lady at the desk tells me we only gave that room because u r Indian and we don't trust Americans. Imagine this from people who living in America, making their fortune here and then telling they don't TRUST Americans. All the remodeling in the world won't fix the horrible service and accommodations. The one cup coffee machine the 4 cup "pod" and only two cups was lots of fun. Under construction shouldn't involve endless smoking and conversation right outside my door past midnight. They should get their money back for the heaters. What a joke. The vending machine is empty, no stores in the area and even the staff is afraid to hang around at night. If your hotel is in a crime area, get a security guard. It's not like the money is going for cheap blankets and crappy coffee.there are too many hotels in this area, don't stop here! The internet price is misleading and it's not worth premium pricing. I stayed here last month while in Eureka on business. I needed to be downtown near the courthouse, and the pickings were pretty slim. I chose this place, and I'm glad I did! The room was very clean and included a microwave and fridge (which was even plugged in). The price was right at just under $70 per night. I found the room very quiet even though it's on a fairly busy street. Nothing sexy, but great price and get's the job done! read more

Possibly the worst Travelodge experience ever. Jacked rates of $138 a night for local college graduation. Cess pool for a pool, no airconditioning had to open windows where we got an awesome police arresting the local vagrants at 3am breaking into vehicles noise. Along with the local fish cannery smell yum. No circulation. Cockroach (dead) in bathroom, maid came next day, still there when we came back. Laundry sat outside our room all 3 days, never removed. I'm a fan because of the price. Room was new and clean - immaculate. Went up for labor day and nothing else available. Walking distance to downtown Eureka. Modest accommodation, no air conditioning (and it was hot). However it was clean and beds were comfy. Not too noisy and we were at top of stairs so everyone walked by our room. I should have taken the advice from the other Yelpers!!! This place is a dump! It was so filthy I don't know how I stayed here. It was also in a seedy area, hence our tire being slashed! I can't believe we used points to stay here, horrible experience. The shower was backed up and when we told the lady about it, she said we must have done it? Would not recommend this hotel. We were charged for our 17 year old even after showing her license that she is still under age. Rooms had a musty odor and blankets were seemingly stained? Unclean? Nothing was like the reviews or picture online. Even the reception area was unfriendly. The free breakfast was some donuts on a plate stacked on top of eachother, pool was empty and full of yuck. There was no circulation in the room as there was no ac. Your solution for air was to keep window open- overnight? Err.. No thanks. And smell from cannery was horrendous. If you have a family and are taking your kid to school- I do not suggest staying here. The area is highly populated by homeless.. Pay a few dollars more and opt for anything in Arcata. read more

Best motel ever!!! This motel was just recently purchased by some new owners and they are so nice so ignore the negative comments. Would recommend to anyone staying. I don't know why people complained about the rooms and showers. It's fine to me I liked them the shower was a bit small but I mean it's not like im showering with someone else!!! A little seedy, but if the motel 6 is full you can turn the lights out here too and it is almost as good as a motel 6.

This is an older motel but for the price and as a last minute accommodation, it was very nice, extremely clean, with good quality mattresses and pillows. The owner explained he has only had it 1 year and is in the process of upgrading. Next time I am in Eureka and don't want to spend $200+ on a place to sleep for a few hours, I will definetely use this Travelodge location.
