He can only cover one topic per appointment, so it requires 3-4 appointments for him to cover all the ailments for a typical patient. He also promised to do certain research in between appointments but did not do so, so he is unreliable as a doctor. Overall I would only recommend Dr. Tam if you have no other options. Ultimately I decided to switch to another provider to get better care.

I had been slowly declining: less energy/enthusiasm for life, constant headaches, poor sleep, poor digestion, I was constantly getting ill with this or that. I saw a number of doctors, one of which told me I had mono (it seemed to fit). Almost two years later my wife found Dr. Patel and I went to see him. He was the first doctor who really listened to me. If I told him about a new symptom, he took it seriously. His testing was thorough. After being diagnosed with mold illness and Marcons, I began treatment. It has taken two years, but I feel more energetic than I have in a loooong time. My brain works again, I can work out again, I can get the occasional bad night's sleep and still function, my headaches are nearly gone, I sleep through the night. My appointment lasted less than 15 minutes and went through all the normal practices like taking blood pressure, height, weight, etc. Nothing special at all. A month later I was hit with a bill for almost $500 because they coded it as a non-preventative visit saying that taking my vitals is a separate code. Absolutely not. Then, when I explained that even if that was true, the CPT code they used was for appointments that are longer than 45 minutes, they said it was because it accounted for the time the doctor took to take notes. I was in the room with the doctor for less than 10 minutes, and if it takes him 25 minutes longer than the entirety of my visit to write standard notes (WITH THE HELP OF AN AI ASSISTANT) then this clinic is incompetent to say the least. While my initial appointment was quick and painless, the surprise billing and dizzying redirection of the staff completely soured the experience. Would strongly recommend reconsidering going to this clinic on all accounts.

I also appreciate that he "gets" the complexity of my myriad intersecting chronic conditions. Because I have multiple specialists, e.g. gastroenterologist, neurologist, opthalmologist, orthopedist, pain management docs ... it's so incredibly helpful to have him as the internist overseeing everything, ordering lab work and also being able to get appointments quickly for other symptoms. For example,. When post spinal fusion surgery, I had a GI issue, he gave me an 'in-office' exam, ordered tests, and accurately diagnosed the condition, followed by a rx. for the state of the art medication. I'm grateful that I have him as the physician overseeing everything. I have been here five times and have had a wonderful experience every time - from the check-in desk to the actual Doctor or NP visits. This review is specific to when I sliced my ring finger. I highly recommend Dr. Sach Takhar. He has such a lovely, calm and engaging manner - even in moments of crisis...sliced finger! He was able to see me within 30 minutes of my "accident" and was gentle in his treatment, brilliantly distracting me with conversation. His care enabled me to fly internationally, as planned, within less than 24 hours. He made time to see me the following week to check on the healing and am so grateful to Dr. Takhar - my finger has healed like brand new! Free parking along the entire street also makes things so convenient. Grateful One Medical exists and that they have such amazing teams at both their San Mateo and Burlingame locations.
