I had the pleasure of spending a warm sunny evening at the Turtle Creek stadium on Tuesday. i have been there before and was surprised to see how sparse the crowd was. I was in a Suite for 12. it was a little cramped and the chairs were not the most comfortable. The Pit Spitters played exceptionally and are obviously well coached. I was disappointed in the food selections. Being in a Suite I had expected more exciting and worthy food options. The server David, was wonderful. The food was not. My burger and waffle fries was cold when they arrive. David took it away and quickly came back with a fresh offering. The burger was warm, the fries were not. For $18.50 I have had far superior food at a lower price. The bun was the cheapest, the ketchup was the cheapest brand as was the mustard. The can of beer was $11.00. outrageous. Maybe now I see why the attendance was low. You need to do better. the team is working hard and doing well. The food choices and production was not. read more

What a great way to spend my 50th. The entire ownership and staff have done an amazing job in making this happen this year. The stadium felt clean and safe with social distancing in all main areas. Went to a concert at this ballpark last Friday. Old Dominion, amazing show. The venue was pretty good, too. I heard that 7,000 people were there but, mom and I didn't feel crowded. A co-worker who was there said people were upset re: bar situation. On the field, they had bar service from the dugouts and the lines were long. The hardest thing for me was dropping my parents off at the airport early the next morning after not getting home until 10:30pm. Lol. read more

Great stadium! There isn't a bad seat in the house. The food is good (for stadium food) and the staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that they charged for parking. It's not like the stadium was in a crowded area; they had a dedicated lot. read more

While in TC on vacation we took in a Beach Bums game and had a great time. The stadium is beautiful. It has an old time feel and has a Churchill Downs look. I was impressed with the quality of baseball they played and with how they cater to families and kids. Every seat in the place has a great view, the have a play area for when the kids attention span expires and a promotion every night. For $10 ($6 outfield lawn), this was the best value of our trip. So much fun for an evening outing while in TC. Everyone is super friendly and the atmosphere is just so enjoyable! Seats everywhere provide a great view. Tues and Thursday games are buy one get one free. So four of us got 5th row behind home plate for $24. Awesome. With parking only at $2. This is a definite must do while in TC if you're visiting during the season. The whole game is just awesome as each inning they have some type of entertainment for the kids. They have your typical ball park eats. Be sure to get your picture with the mascots, Sunburn and Suntan! read more

Pretty nice Minor League Stadium and Family Fun. When vacationing in Sleeping Bear Dunes in Empire/Glenn Arbor we wanted to take in a baseball game and were able to do so. Traverse City is a beautiful region, and the location for baseball seems highly attended. Ticket prices of $11 were reasonable but it is still more expensive then AA baseball. All sidelines were good, and the quality of baseball was high for Frontier Level. If your a sports fan visiting the area this is the best your going to get and worth a try! read more

While on vacation we saw the team advertised in a travel magazine. We are a baseball family who never pass on the chance to take in a game. The first thing I liked was all the lower box seats were the same price $10. It was 10 cent dog night we payed a little over $9 for 4 sodas and 6 hot dogs. The stadium was amazing very clean and the seats had plenty of room. We've never been to Michigan but we got the feeling of being in a east coast beach town like you see in the Carolina's. Everything was well priced and the game was very competitive. I definitely would recommend this to anyone in the area. read more

As a big sports fan and a father of two small boys, it's hard to find a sporting event that the whole family can enjoy, without breaking the bank. Pit Spitters baseball games check off all the boxes. Very clean updated stadium. Lots of fun for the whole family. Different small events to do throughout the park the night we were there. Staff is very professional, helpful, and friendly! Good baseball to top it off. Nice small selection of beers. Would liked to have seen a few more food options or at least a signature dish or two that represents the local food culture. Don't miss this gem of a ballpark! As a baseball fan who has visited 35-40 minor and major league ballparks in my lifetime, I would rank this place in my top 10. The staff were helpful and friendly, the tickets were extremely reasonable: $10 for front-row seats right next to the home dugout. The food (soda, Cracker Jacks, and a sausage dog) cost more than my ticket, which I have come to accept as being the norm at most ballparks these days. The sausage dog was hot and tasty, the service was fairly quick, and if I didn't live 2200 miles away (we were in Michigan for a family reunion), I would take in another Pit Spitters game any time! We attended a game during the Bums' first season about 5 years ago and again just recently. Great fun both times. Minor league sports is always especially family- and budget-friendly, and the Beach Bums experience fits that bill on both counts. Tickets are reasonably priced, parking is just $2, a huge beer that lasted me the entire game was just $5 and caramel corn was just $2 a bag. There's a playground for young kids out in the lawn setting section, and there is plenty of fun and promos with the cute team mascots (Suntan and Sunburn). The level of pitching in the Frontier League sometimes makes play a bit slower, but we were lucky enough to see a couple of decent pitchers the last time out. If you plan to drink beer during the game, be sure to pick up a wristband right at the front door (they ID everyone there and issue wristbands). I also like the fact that they grill hot dogs on a real, live grill (one in each corner of the ballpark), making the dogs here among the best I've had at a baseball game. read more

i know i'm going to hell for this review but what a bad experience, from the moment i walked in when because i purchased my ticket online so i could not be entered in the raffle to the utterly crappy food that you have to wait in a long line because they don't open all their stands. And why do you have so many Sarah Palin Bobble head dolls, if i wanted your political opinion i wouldn't go to the ballpark. Just don't get it, just want to go to a ballgame and have fun. read more

Stay far away from the pretzels. Advertised as "soft pretzel" brand but it's just salty bread. They're really proud of their gift shop items as well, wife was looking for a sweatshirt. Baseball was great though. read more

Ok, if you haven't been to a Beach Bums game, then it's time you do. First thing that I'd like to point out is that it isn't in Traverse City, they play in Blair Township. And second, excluding the stadium lights, you'd have a hard time locating Wurfel Park because the entire park resembles a beach house. When you get inside, go to one of their fabulous concession stands; they have all the stuff you want. The bathrooms are clean and the PA Announcer/on field Emcee really DO keep us entertained. The fireworks go off during the national anthem and home runs. They'll play silly sounds over the speakers every inning such as the classic of glass breaking and what not. The 2 mascots are Suntan and Sunburn. What can I say, just that you'll have an unforgettable time. So come down today read more

As a new Traverse City resident we have been looking forward to seeing Beach Bums for the first time. The good news is the stadium and the playing field are beautiful. The bad news is be prepared to spend a lot of money. Ticket prices are fair but when you add on a parking fee, $7.50 beers, and $5.50 brats things can add up pretty quickly. Then add insult to injury. Food is terrible just like much of the staffs service and poor attitude. Was there on a Saturday night which should be biggest night of the week , only about 350 fans for game so no one was being overworked. Will go back to see the game but won't spend $75 again! read more
