Warning: long review incoming :D…read more We've been coming to Gyminny Kids La Costa for camp for the past several weeks (and to classes off and on over the last couple of years), and I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. Since I've been able to stay and work while my daughter is at camp, I've had the opportunity to be a fly on the wall and watch the coaches interact with the kids and it seriously has been such a joy to see. The coaches are truly exceptional and are what make this place so special. They are patient, kind, and incredibly encouraging, but they also do an amazing job at setting appropriate boundaries and making sure that safety is their top priority (looking at you, trampolines!). But what really stands out is their consistency and genuine care for the kids. Every coach I've observed treats the kids with respect and enthusiasm and takes the time to learn each of their personalities. I've been incredibly impressed by how the coaches handle the more difficult moments, whether it be a kiddo who is having a hard time following directions, or is feeling overwhelmed, or is straight up having a hard day - the coaches are always patient and professional. They remain calm, are positive, and are super supportive but still maintain structure and expectations of the kiddos. It's very evident that they understand that every kid develops differently and they meet the kids where they are. One thing that has especially stood out to me is the compassion they show children with special needs or those who may need a little extra support. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, they create an environment where every kiddo feels included and supported and they take the time to connect with them as an individual. As a parent, it means a lot to see that level of empathy and intentionality. I'm also impressed with how organized everything is. This location is much smaller than their original 4S Ranch location, but even with all the chaos and nonstop energy, the staff operate like a well oiled machine. The transitions between stations, snacks, crafts, games, and gym activities are seamless, and the kids always seem engaged and supervised. An extra bonus is that they make a point of having each kid wash their hands before eating, keep hand sanitizer and wipes stationed throughout the facility, and do peanut butter checks at snack/lunch since they are a peanut-free facility. We've been coming to Gyminny Kids locations on and off over the last 10 years and have enjoyed seeing how much they've grown while still maintaining their values. As a parent, it's incredibly reassuring to leave your child somewhere you know they'll be safe, encouraged, and genuinely cared for!

You will generally see the same coaches, and get to know them, so that tells you something about this location. Also offers, ninja classes, tumbling, after school programs, summer and holiday camps. On Friday nights they offer Kids Nights Out and Kids Day Out on Saturday afternoons. It's a great option to get a few hours kid free. It include pizza and the kids will expend their energy as they are kept active, jumping on the bungies, trampolines etc. It's a win win! Staff are flexible, responsive and super helpful!

One of my boys has a fear of heights and after a couple classes was jumping off mats stacked close to 5 feet high facing forward, landing on his feet and then doing a forward roll.I can literally see the difference in my kids abilities inside the class and outside. hav had some true "Mommy Moments" watching my kids progress. I have seen more here than in other classes they have been in for a while including gymnastics and swimming. The instructions are incredibly patient and helpful. They give kids the tools and motivation to succeed. Life skills that are hard to teach at any age! If you don't know what Parkour is - think urban gymnastics.

There are usually two coaches and that is very helpful. What I liked about the way the class was organized was that the coaches kept the kids moving. Once the class started it was nonstop for the length of the class. My son loved it and asked if he could come again tomorrow. The owners are friendly and respond quickly to email questions. My son has taken classes for about a month and is always excited when it's Wednesday because he knows he has parkour after school.

She trained rhythmic gymnastics at the pre-team level with Miss Sofia, the head coach of the club. I can't fully express my gratitude for Coach Sofia's wisdom this season in approaching all the girls in a way that preserves pure joy for this sport. My daughter has been genuinely happy to come to every single session -- and she's been training nine hours a week since February. She made friendships easily, and I truly feel the environment encourages that. We cheer for all the girls without comparing them. She competed without any nerves, because no pressure was ever placed on these young athletes. I believe she received a wonderful foundation. What matters most to our family is that we have a child who is excited to continue her rhythmic gymnastics journey -- and that says everything. Thank you, Coach Sofia. I also want to mention that San Diego Rhythm has an Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (AGG) program, and my daughter Matilda was part of the team for 4-6-year-olds. Her AGG coach was Miss Lina, and Matilda absolutely loved spending time with her and her teammates during practices. Miss Lina kept the little ones within boundaries beautifully while always showing them warmth and humor. The AGG experience left a lasting impression - Matilda still asks me when they'll do it again. We're so grateful for both sides of our experience at this club!

This is during work hours, so I called and asked if I can reserve to play pickball either in the evening or on a weekend day because there is no open play on the weekend and they said no. Most recreations center have open play on the weekend so that people who work can also join in. I would appreciate a revision of the open play schedule or the option to reserve a time to play so that people who work a 9-5 can be active as well. This seems like it's catered to people who are retired or don't work a 9-5.
