Love this place. Tastes like Mom's homecooked Thai Food!

My thai spot for the last 6 months. My wife and I often crave their kapow gai sup (chopped basil chicken). Their fried pork spare ribs are delish as well. They'll stay at the top until they mis charge or use old meat. They have premade dishes on weekend for cheaper if you from that selection, think panda style but authentic thai food. Since they are focused on the premade, menu orders take around 15 plus minutes to make so leave time and be patient. I've seen people get really frustrated waiting. Personally, I call my order in ahead of time so when I show up it's only like a 5 min wait. Enjoy! read more

Located in an unassuming strip mall in the city of Paramount is Treasure Pot. This place is truly a hidden gem, something that one would not expect in the city of Paramount. The place is small with only about 7 or 8 tables. Most of the time there is no trouble getting a table, but on certain lunch or dinner time peak hours, getting a table might pose a bit of a wait. The restaurant has a small kitchen employing a couple of cooks, and there is usually only 1 waitress. If there are patrons dining, then you'll most likely be waiting a bit longer for your food to come out. All aside from those issues, the food is great. Classic Thai dishes fill their small but effective menu. Their selection ranges from traditional rice and noodle plates to spicy Thai-Issan specialties. Some of the dishes I recommmend would be: 1. Glad I discovered this today. My sisters BFF is Thai and they love to eat and she knows what authentic is. And here's this dish Ive always looked for but never found it in any Thai place here in the States but only at this place and OMG, it's the order #72. A MUST TRY ESP to Asians out there that love to eat rice. Don't get me wrong, order their Pad Thai and u won't go wrong. I'm sorry Saul V. had a bad experience on 11/3/2011. But that's motivation to post another view. We've been going to Treasure Pot for years, through a few owners. For the past 4 years, we live 19 miles away, actually closer than before. My wife is Thai, and she likes Treasure Pot food better than anyplace else South of Hollywood. Once a month or so, I travel to El Segundo, and stop at Treasure Pot to pick up a takeout order for her. Her favorite is Pat Ped Paduk (or alternate spelling), or spicy sliced catfish. This place is bomb! I went here today for lunch and got the (KAO KRAPROW KAI SUB), which is steamed rice topped with ground chicken and thai basil. I love love love their boat noodles!,, but there's this Thai waitress there who doesn't smile to anyone except her own thailandeer.. she's soooo mean looking.. That's why even though I super like their boat noodles I always have a second thought of going there because of that lady's attitude. Does that make sense? Brought my wife and my mother here after a quick yelp search found this small place. I have to say the food was delicious. My wife is a bit picky and she had no complaints. It was my mom's first time trying Thai food and she loved the spicy soup. I recommend this place. We ordered the pad see ew, shrimp fried rice and the tum yum Kung soup medium spicy. I came here on two different occasions. Once, while out during my lunch break, and the second time, after I got out of work. The second time, went specifically to try the roti (sp?). The verdict? I had the Pad Thai and it was good. Not great, not bad. Just good. Best Thai in Riverside is STILL the best Thai for me, hehe. The roti was oily, super-sweet, deep-fried goodness. I'll give them that. It has a flaky outer shell, with a soft, moist inside. Sooo good. Reminds me of the Filipino turron, except there's no banana in the middle. The place itself is well lit, well ventilated, and looks to be clean. From the counter you can see into the kitchen, so there's no worries about anything shady going on in there. Not like I've ever been aware of anything shady going on inside a restaurant's kitchen, but at least you can rest assured, haha. Service is okay, but usually they just stare at you as you walk in. The food is terrific here. Curry is excellent. I'm pretty discriminating when it comes to Thai Food. We checked out several places in this area and this was the clear winner food wise. You probably want to get take out though because a) it's a complete dump inside. That part didn't bother me too much, but it was especially surreal this past Saturday night. There are two TVs in the corners of the restaurant. On this night they were tuned to TruTV's "World's Dumbest Performers." No one but us seemed to notice the TV at all even though there was a pretty decent length scene of a man painting with his penis! Very uncomfortable. Later some other people came in who were noticing it. There were several scenes of women breaking blocks with their enormous breasts. Just a strange, strange meal. read more

Thank goodness for Treasure Pot. I work in the area and want to have lunch that doesn't consist of fast food or a place like Tam's. I only have about a 1/2 hour for lunch so I call in my order and walk there to pick it up. The food is decent and for a good price. I usually order Tom Yum Kai, Pad See Ew (sp?), Pad Thai, or the Wonton Soup. On occasion I order the lunch special (it comes with rice, and salad). read more

GOOD FOOD CRAPPY SERVICE! Never come on your lunch break if your looking for a quick fried rice dish or any dish they claim to say only takes fifteen minutes. So we finally came back after they got there B grade removed from the food safely inspectors. And decided to give it another try. I went up to the hosts desk to order fried rice and a thai tea. First eye to eye contact there was no acknowledgement of any sort. No, ill be right with you or even a hello. So she walked passed me and minutes later came back and said what would you like. So I ordered fried rice and a thai tea she said I quote, "15 MINS." So I said ok. So i Sat down waited WITHOUT my thai tea... fifteen mins passed and another five passed... so my friend walks up to the hosts desk and wants to pay.. the lady said we did Not cook your food, do you want to cancel? .. she also said I told the other girl we are busy!.
