While the lack of variety was disappointing, it was alright, as all the scones were still delicious. Whether you get the sconewitch or just a scone + jam, all good choices. The date and fennel one in particular was a less common flavour that I enjoyed. Soft gooey date chunks and fennel here and there providing a good contrast of textures and tastes. Spacious, well-lit, comfortable space with plenty of seating. I'd love to come back and try all the different things on the menu.

The food was ready about 10 minutes later and I was back at the rental and eating five minutes after that. It's really, really good. The French toast by itself is impressively not too sweet, but the when you eat it with the syrup and the apple compote and the cream, it turns into a perfectly balanced, super delicious concoction. I also got their ice coffee and we both agreed that it was far better than most ice coffees we've ever had. What an awesome little place.

The vegetables done good, but tofu again had just no flavour. Tofu had a spice rub all over, but it tasted like plain tofu. The Bacun strips were rice paper rolls with some attempted flavours but none came through. And two Vegan Bennies ($16) - a super grainy slice of bread topped with the same tofu, green onions, Bacun and some red pepper strips (NOT Coulis as described in the menu). If some person was having a tofu dish for the first time I think they would describe tofu as no flavour at all. We vegans know that you can do amazing things with Tofu. The home fries in the above dishes was the best - now that we could give 5 out 5. All of us had to go and get Sriracha and Ketchup from the counter to rescue the dishes. Coffee was too weak as well. When you go in and order on the counter and you get food delivered to your table. Should the restaurant still offer to tip on the machine BEFORE even we were served? The dishes were vibrant in colour and look very appetizing. The chef brunch protein for the benedict was jalapeno pork sausage and it definitely had a nice kick to it. The eggs were soft poached, both the English muffin and the homefries helped soak up the gooey goodness! The fried chicken dish was a bit disappointing in 2 ways. 1) It was corn season and they still decide to use relatively flavourless frozen corn kernals. I would suggest using fresh ingredients when it is in season. 2) For the price, I was expecting 2 pieces of fried chicken, instead it was a single piece of medium size chicken breast attached to a drumette. To give them credit, the breast wasn't dry and the root beer maple syrup went very well with the homefries. The latte was alright it did have a slightly bitter aftertaste though.
