We've had multiple photoshoots with Danielle over the years from both our kid's newborn sessions to mini-sessions around the holidays. Danielle is warm, easy going, and great with the kids. She always manages to capture a wide range of photos from the kid's silliest moments to ones where we are somehow all smiling and looking at the camera! For newborn, she is really experienced and comes with everything (i.e. space heater, shush machine, multiple cute outfits, props, you name it - she has it). For mini-sessions, even though it's a shortened session, you never feel rushed and are surprised how many photos you get. I will say if your session only includes a handful of images, be prepared to purchase the whole gallery because it's going to be that hard to choose. read more

Just received our digital photos and so happy we chose Danielle at Tree Swing! Booking was super easy (all via email which is my preference), and she had a list of venues ready for us to choose from. We were so lucky to find Danielle! She shot maternity and newborn photos for us and aside from absolutely gorgeous photos, the entire experience with her was so special. My husband and I were incredibly awkward and uncomfortable with the idea of maternity photos and we thought that would come across in the pictures but Danielle immediately disarmed us and made us comfortable. The time flew by and she captured super candid moments of us laughing and chatting with each other that ended up being our favorite pics. For our newborn photos, we were absolutely wrecked. We were functioning off of less than 2 hours of sleep and had just found out our baby wasn't gaining weight. We were so tired, scared and emotional, what made that afternoon possible was that Danielle didn't show up as a photographer she showed up as a mom. She was so patient, supportive and comforting. She told us stories about her kids and her family, and assured us everything would work out. When I look at the pictures now I am so thankful that we made it to the session because we now have a chunky 2 month-old and these beautiful memories of when she was so tiny and fragile. read more

i agree with many reviewers that danielle is very warm, patient, and professional. my daughter had a meltdown right in the middle of photos, but danielle allowed us to let her calm herself back down with some fruit snacks and get back. she was able to get the best possible images, given the circumstances. i would say that i think she offers a very high-end mini session package. i blame this oversight mostly on myself, but think it's an important, helpful factor for those that are shopping around for options. our usual photographer was moving and i was in a panic trying to find local photographer availability. when i saw danielle's work, i definitely felt really good about booking her, but in my rush, i didn't read that the $200 covered the 20-min session, editing, viewing meeting, and ONE PHOTO. you get the digital copy and 5x7 archival print in an 8x10 matte, but i've paid the same for 10 digital images. i personally only prefer digitals. i saw another photographer, who i wish i'd booked, include 5 digital images, which would've worked, as well. or i would've even traveled to my photographer, but that's all in hindsight. quite honestly, i did ask about a potential multi digital package during our zoom review, but that was not an option, so i requested to only view family photos. i didn't even want to see what i'd be missing because i couldn't afford to pay an additional $190 PER PHOTO. so, as much as i was hoping for one of just the kids or a few more family photos or other combinations, we could not afford that. if you're ever worried about a receiving less because it's a "mini" session, this would be that, in my opinion. finally, i believe everyone should price their work based on their personal value, so i don't think there's anything wrong with danielle's pricing, it's just not competitive or comparable and she seems to have plenty of clients who can afford her high-end service. i do know there are more affordable options with equally talented photographers who, i feel, give you more. read more

Danielle's process and results were perfect for our family portrait project. Our timing was really tight because of a surprise element and with family visiting us in a short window, Danielle was accommodating and helpful with suggestions on shoot locations too. The shoot was casual and fun and everyone was at ease. After the shoot the process for selecting the photos was efficient and straightforward - Danielle is helpful, patient, and easygoing every step of the way and the results are AWESOME. Daniell is a wonderful photographer and works wonders with families, especially those who have squirmy kids who don't want their pictures taken when the time comes (!) After our session, my husband asked if the pictures would be comically bad because our kids were very out of sorts for the shoot! We were SO pleasantly surprised about four weeks later to find that Danielle had captured four smiling faces, again and again, somehow. I purchased our entire gallery immediately. Danielle is highly responsive and a great communicator. Prior to the shoot, we exchanged not less than 37 emails about what everyone would wear on the day. Our family, especially our two-year-old daughter, really enjoyed our summer photo session with Danielle. We love the resulting portraits! They capture the magic of our toddler's age and the beautiful relationship between her and her grandmothers. (This photo shoot was a belated Christmas gift for my mom and my mother-in-law, and they absolutely treasure their photos.) We shot at a park in Belmont at Danielle's suggestion, which was perfect because she knew the site very well and knew all of the right angles and lighting. Danielle is all at once highly professional and like shooting with a good friend; we hardly needed any time at all to warm up with her. I was personally impressed that Danielle shot with us on the morning of one of her kids' birthday parties, which we found out later. We never would have guessed that she might have been juggling so much that day because she was so warm and pleasant, and not once did we feel rushed. In fact, Danielle made sure to ask whether we had all of the portrait combinations that we wanted, and when our moms suggested a few more, she didn't hesitate to shoot more. My kid has major stranger danger and usually refuses to interact with others, but somehow she had him laughing his head off and cracking up. He left the session telling us how funny she was. We had such a great time on this shoot. Our daughter, being a typical 5 year old, melted down completely before the shoot. We love Tree Swing! We have used Danielle for our newborn photo shoot and now our son's one year photos. She is so attentive to detail and made us feel so comfortable. Danielle did a fantastic job on our maternity and newborn photos! I can't recommend her enough. She suggested the perfect location for the maternity shoot and captured our excitement so beautifully. I love the photos she's taken of my very active son over the years--she manages to capture him as I see him, rather than the smudged blur I often end up with using my smartphone. We first hired Danielle last year to do our annual holiday photoshoot. She was professional, arrived early, and had a mask on. But more than that, she was very personable, great with our kids, and made the whole one-hour shoot fun. Time went by rather quickly, which I rarely can say, especially with a toddler and baby. We loved the experience and photos so much, that we decided to also ask Danielle to photograph our baby's 1 year cake smash. She has a cute studio where she put together the most adorable backdrop for the baby's photoshoot. We were able to get lots of great photos in, and even though my son was being a little difficult throughout the shoot, one wouldn't even be able to tell through the photos. Danelle was amazing. She was highly recommended from multiple sources so we called her as I emerged from our newborn fog. She was able to fit us in with very little notice bc my newborn was rapidly getting too old for newborn shots. She is beyond prepared with backgrounds, props, cute wraps and head bands, shushers to help chill babies out. Our kid decided to be really awake that day and she was incredibly flexible and got lots of amazing shots with her eyes open and closed.
