Stephanie is seriously a-m-a-z-i-n-g! The photo shoot she did with our newborn was pure magic. Stephanie has this incredible way with kids. On the day of our shoot, our little one was a cranky little monster. Stephanie jumped around, makes silly noises, and somehow managed to make our ornery 6-week old laugh and smile and we ended up with the BEST pictures of him. On top of that, our house is not exactly what I would consider conducive for a great photo shoot, but Stephanie totally made it work. She came armed with a ton of props (no small feat considering she flew all the way in Hawaii to do our shoot). She also worked with things we had around the house and got shots that look like they came right out of a studio. Look no further! Stephanie is the best photographer you'll ever meet! I worked with her once at a fashion shoot for Scene Magazine where she took stunning pics that were featured on the cover and two fashion spreads. I also got to assist her at a family photoshoot with four kids under the age of seven. :-O I'm not gonna lie, it was chaotic and entertaining, but Steph's naturally fun personality helped a lot with reining in the kids for both adorable group shots and individual ones. She also used some creative and clever thinking to include the fearful baby :) in shots with the older and more enthusiastic kids. I don't think I can ask for a better photographer to take the pictures of our family of 3. We all know that taking a perfect picture of a smiling 1-year-old is almost impossible. Now combine that with mommy's hair that's flying around + daddy's eyes that keep closing. Winning lottery might be a little easier. However, Stephanie made it all possible with her touch of magic. She can turn the picture of my pouty baby into a smiling baby. She also produced a flawless family photo of the 3 of us where we were all smiling and looking absolutely great. I now have it turned into a 20" x 30" canvas in our living room. I also really like it that she is very responsive & enthusiastic in communication prior & after photo shoot. She actually loves all the crazy ideas that I threw at her and even suggested more stuff to do/bring (she has tons of props but I still highly recommend bringing your own stuff/change of clothes if you know exactly what you wanna do). During the shoot, she was really fun to work with + knew very well how to get the attention of my 1 year old. The hardest part is after the photo shoot: to narrow down to the 10 that you'd like her to retouch/edit. Most of the raw photos look amazing just as it is but as I've mentioned before, when you have 3 people in 1 photo, it will need some Stephagic (Stephanie's magic) touch. Stephanie was very helpful and patient with all my nitpickings. She expedited the processing of some photos + patiently emailing them 1 by 1 (very big size files) since my boy's birthday party was only 1-2 weeks apart from the day we had our photos taken. We've had Stephanie take our family photos for 2 consecutive years and both times the results were exceptional. So we had our first baby. Hubby said, "Let's do a photo shoot for the family" when we walked past Picture People at the mall. So we got home, looked up the Picture People on Yelp, and saw less-than-stellar reviews. I saw a few profiles with good ratings. Then I came across Stephanie's profile. "Hmmm", I thought, "These pictures look great without looking cheesy or pretentious". Photography is an art. I know the nice pictures we see hung up at the Picture People is most likely not taken by the same photographers that are going to take ours. Plus at a month old, you can't schedule what time the baby's going to be up or not cranky. So I contacted Stephanie, and explained to her our limitations (we don't have a big house or a nice backyard), and she assured us we'd be just fine. So Stephanie showed up bright and early that first morning, and it was overcast and a little drizzly. We ended up doing the entire shoot on the kitchen floor and they all turned out great! We were kind of skeptical at first and a little worried since well, everything was taken in the kitchen. You wouldn't have known if we never told those pictures were not done in a studio. Stephanie was so upbeat and patient, waiting around while the baby gets changed and kept taking pictures until she thought she had taken enough pictures to make a good stack. Stephanie is not only a great photographer, we love seeing her as she is just great to have around. I think so far we've had Stephanie come over 4 times. Stephanie is really really great! I was looking for someone to do a photo shoot of my family of 8 with 2 little kids (not an easy task, I'll tell you), and on a short notice too. Stephanie was willing to take on the challenge and was very flexible and easy to work with. Setting up a time and a place was a breeze. When the time came for the photo shoot she came by and brought a megawatt of energy, got everyone relaxed and laughing and took literally hundreds of amazing pictures. We used her to do our son's 1 year old pictures and even though our son was super fussy that day, somehow she was able to get a lot of pictures with him looking at the camera and even smiling!!
