Within days of my initial inquiry, they sent someone out for a free estimate despite the distance. Juan, who completed the estimate, listened to all of my requests and concerns and was highly responsive to all of my follow-up questions over the following months before deciding to go with them. The finished fence completely exceeded my expectations. The crew was professional, polite, and incredibly detail-oriented. My neighbor, who builds and renovates as a hobby, was so impressed by their attention detail that he came outside to watch them work. He said their precision and technique was absolutely fascinating and that he would use them them to work on his own property. The day-of, there was a small scheduling mix-up and the owner, Sam, called me himself and resolved it directly with patience, consideration and care. Had them fix our front bldg gate iron door that was not catching & locking. Had a previous company…read morefix 2x (1st time door came off hinges, subsequently didn't lock good after that fix and charged us again to "fix" the locking issue..but didn't last long). They insisted that we needed a whole new door and posts and would cost $$$$. Came across Trejos truck and called the number for a quote. They fixed the door PROPERLY (which the first business should have done with the first job). The lock catches much better now because they added an iron lip around the door lock, added an overhead support bar to the door, added a spring and fixed the rusting posts for $550. Much more reasonable that prior company AND they didn't try to tell us we needed an entirely new gate. We have other iron work that is needed and would use them again and would refer others to them.

Again on 7-10 when I called to get a date for the project- they again asked me about a permit, which is NOT required on an existing fence. Repeated calls unreturned, unorganized and rude office staff. Finally got me to scheduling on 7-23 asking again about the permit. They CANCELLED my contract and the nasty text message from the owner was simply the icing on the cake. Inquiring about a delivery date was seen as "rude" yet her text which I documented says "check will go out in the mail today. Hopefully the USPS will have it to you by Monday, the 28th. If not, you know how to compliant about it"--- ! She couldn't even PICK up the phone and have a conversation..... buyer beware! The contract I signed says they can cancel at ay time due to any unforeseen circumstances- by any "change orders" MUST be agreed upon in writing by both parties. While their service may be good- their organization (or lack thereof) and office staff and kindness- isn't part of their core values. I'm relieved I'm not using them. ps- notice that all of the good reviews are OLD. Check out the ones from 2024 (Abra) Have you ever had an owner respond in this nature? Calling the "customer" a liar? As to the JULIE people, (USIC)- nobody rang the bell and I babysit children. They opened the back gate without permission and left it open- I have a POOL (aka liability). Great experience from beginning to end working with Jacob Fence…read more THE BID: I had a project with a bit of complexity to it, and I wanted to see a couple different options in the bid that I requested from the 4 companies that quoted the project. Wilfredo at Jacob Fence was the only one of the 4 that showed me all the different options in the bid he provided. His bid was also much much more detailed than the other company's bids. TIMING: Jacob was able to get my project schedule quite quickly. His schedule was as fast or faster than the others who bid COMMUNICATION: Wilfredo was very good about keeping me in the loop on this project. From email and text mssgs he let me know when he was arriving, how permits where coming along, when the crew would arrive etc. I always knew what was going on with Jacobs. SERVICE: Jacobs offered to take care of the permit for me since he was near the city office. Great! Then an issue came up with the permit and Wilfredo was helpful and patient as we went back and forth trying to resolve the city's issues. And because of the permit issues we needed to adjust our plans for the fence and Jacobs was great about working with me to redo bids, adjust etc. WORKMANSHIP: On the day of the install, the crew arrived on time, got busy very quickly and in the end did a nice quality, tidy job. I'd requested some things be done in a very specific way that was a little different than normal. I was concerned that a contractor might not do a great job with steps that were divergent from their typical workflow. With Jacobs crew it wasn't a problem at all. They followed my request and did so very skillfully. In fact, at the end of the project they asked if they could take a few pictures and said they like what I did and would perhaps offer it to other clients. INTEGRITY: Because of the adjustments to the project result from the permit issues, there was less work done than was originally bid. Wilfredo didn't hesitate a moment in adjusting the final invoice. FOLLOW UP: I got a call a few days after the job was done checking to be sure I was happy with the job. SUMMARY: I though every aspect of the project was handled professionally and that everyone I dealt with was friendly, efficient, and very good at their job. I'd use Jacob Fence again and I recommend them to my friends without hesitation
