Entered my home to have a look around with no permission. LUNATICS!! And they reset the appliances in my apartment and now the oven doesn't even work. I still live here for a week! You are out of your minds!!!!! They did not give 24 hour notice as required by law. Trek management will violate you, take advantage of you, and make you hate your own home. Let me remind readers that Trek is trying to force me in to staying an EXTRA month beyond my lease, yet enters for a "prewalk" and turns off my oven? After moving last year I found myself having to move again this year and dreaded the process. Trek made my experience wonderful. From the first phone call to the move in process the Management Team made my move easy. I worked with Tammi, Cassandra and Melissa. Their communication with me was excellent. Every email was answered the same day. The day of my move was made easy by being able to park the moving truck in the garage and having two dollies available to use. This small step made the process quicker. By the end of the day I already had my Package service set up with out even having to ask. When I first called I was hesitant about the small size of the apartment but the design was excellent and after moving all my things in it is the perfect size for one person. My family and I recently moved in and we are loving it here! The staff has been amazing since the first time I called to inquire about a unit. Love being in a city that is not overpopulated or having to pay to park compared to Seattle lol. Melissa and Cassie have been amazing and always available with great communication! Even the Maintenance Quail with quick and knowledgeable information. I have read many reviews but it is smarter to take with a grain of salt and see for yourselves. Glad I am leaving this place!!! The noise was unbearable. First, the big noise issue was the train. It was so loud through the night that it sounded like I had the train in the living room. I had to sleep with the fan on even during the winter to drown out the sound. Before COVID, they started building two new apt across the street so now I had construction plus the train!! Impossible to sleep!!! I had to sleep out of this apt in order to get some sleep. My room would get super cold or super hot. Makes me think there is a draft in the room and also in the living room. Had to have the heater on all winter to avoid having a cold room. Water does last 10 minutes like people say on here. Sucks when winter arrives. The maintenance guy always had an attitude. I encountered him twice and he would always talk down to me like he had an issue with me and he would be so condescending. Hate that guy. The elevators would reek of cigarettes! We had some neighbors that are smokers and would leave the elevator stinking of cigarettes. Gross! Lots of sketchy characters around the building. I would avoid walking around if I didn't have to or once the sun set. Lots of homeless and drug addicts roaming downtown. During COVID, to receive packages we had to cross the street to city hall to pick up our packages from 11am-1pm I believe. Ridiculous! Couldn't have anything sent to MY APT because they decided to do this crap!!!! The gym is so small! Had to wait for people to leave because they have like 2 treadmills, 1 bike and 1 elliptical. Many times I would have to go to my apt and come back later bc it would be packed with families in there. I would only encounter Mario for my packages so I can't say much about him. He was always pleasant. Sad Ravey left though. She was a ray of sunshine in that building. The courtyard is small too. Had to make sure nobody was out there during the summer when I wanted to be put there because it is so small it would be awkward to be breathing down the other people's necks. For the price I would live in Seattle or closer! Took me 2 hours for commuting every day. It was brutal!!! Live near Seattle and avoid this headache!!! read more

This place is awful. We have had nothing but trouble with these apartments. Let me count the ways: - The management staff is incredibly incompetent, rude, and will purposefully con you out of money for rent, utilities, and parking. They whole-heartedly believe in and prioritize making money over making tenants happy and comfortable. Specifically Mario, the manager, has harassed us many times via email and continues to be incompetent, unethical, and inappropriate. He has created a hostile environment for many tenants and should be removed immediately. Also - although the signs are requiring tenants to wear masks, I always encounter the staff with NO mak - Since COVID-19 has started, ALL amenities (gym, rooftop deck, lobby area, etc.) have been closed. There has been no discount in rent - there should at least be a credited portion of rent to make up for the shortcomings of this apartment building. The lobby of this building is lacking simple things, like a trash can, because the staff is lazy and prefers not to do much day to day. Unsanitary, in addition to being thoughtless about their tenants. - Just last week, there were multiple blood stains on the floor of elevator #2, during the COVID pandemic. It was only cleaned up after I brought it to the (new) girl's attention in the front office. Disgusting and unsanitary, and the only reply I got from her was "Oh...". - If you like sleep, you'll hate it here. Between the ambulances, the police station, the loud cars and motorcycles revving their engines outside on the busy streets, the train station, and constant construction, you will never find peace or comfort. - There are constant emails coming from the management team asking tenants to quietly close their doors. Now, not a single one of these doors have a slowing mechanism to prevent them from swinging shut and slamming each and every time. The management harassed tenants to fix problems that THEY should be responsible for. If they had put more thought and money into building these apartments, maybe they wouldn't have bought cheap doors that slam. Maybe, if they cared about their tenants, they'd made a point to create a comfortable & welcoming environment. - Update: they performed a "pre-walk through"; gave no notice that they would be unlawfully entering the apartment while we were not there. They left a note on the inside stating that someone had been inside the residence. They also disconnected the oven while they were inside and left it inoperable If you choose to rent here - rent at your own risk. We have had a terrible experience and will pursue action against this company for its continued harassment, bullying, and disrespect to its tenants. Update: the response by Trek Apartments below gives the number to call the above mentioned manager, Mario. He, again, is incompetent, unethical, and bullies tenants with threatening, harassing emails and calls. Either give us a number for upper management to handle this, or expect a letter from our lawyer for the unlawful entering of our apartment without the 24-hour notice that is required BY LAW... along with the intentional infliction of emotional distress that Mario and this company have caused. read more

Pros: Beautiful, clean, well kept apartment building and units. Friendly staff and very responsive maintenance requests. Walkable to Safeway in case of snow (though it never felt safe to walk there when the sun went down). Other tenants are respectful and only noises I ever heard were doors slamming when people came or left and the occasional screaming child. Cons: Horrible location; traffic, drunks, homeless and several sirens going throughout the day. Cheap windows let in exhaust and cigarette smoke from the people driving/walking in the roads below. You could hear clearly the conversations people would have while walking around on the streets with all the windows closed. Fire alarm went off every time I cooked something in the oven. Water heater took forever to warm up and only produced enough hot water for one person to take a quick shower. Gates to the garage(s) were always always on the fritz and left open. During the winter months no salt is put out to help prevent/diminish slippery areas. I had to call out of work a few times because I didn't feel comfortable getting my car out of the upper garage the was so much ice piled up. read more

She was very helpful with showing the Apartment, amenities, and what is included. If they had as much amenities that the current building I moved in, I would have stayed but there's greater opportunities outside Trek. Staff 5/5 - Amazing staff and super friendly. Maintenance requests and general concerns are handled immediately. Cleanliness 5/5 - Common areas are cleaned, repainted, shampooed very regularly. It is a pet-friendly building, and I've never had issues with odor or pet stains. Sometimes dogs have accidents, but it's generally handled immediately. Noise 3/5 - It's not Trek's fault, but the building is near the train station and the hospital. The train and ambulance can be heard loud and clear. Each unit has casement windows, but if you're bothered by noise, you might want to avoid Trek. Aesthetics 5/5 - The building looks great inside and out and with modern finishes. Storage 1/5 - Unfortunately, there isn't an additional storage area for purchase and storage is pretty slim inside the units. I've lived in 2 different units, and both had tiny and limited closet space. Convenience 5/5 - Trek is walking distance to several banks, city hall, hospital, restaurants, supermarket and the transit station. Amenities 3/5 - There's a common indoor/outdoor space as well as space in the main lobby area. The main lobby area is not accessible outside of business hours. There is also a small fitness room that is open 24 hours. You won't find a pool or conference/work room here. Lastly, for a higher-end apartment in Auburn, I would have expected air conditioning. We just moved in about a month ago and I noticed there was a lack of reviews for this place being it's brand new. I figured I needed to get something up to help people out who are looking in the area. We moved from Dallas and just let me say it was one of the easiest experiences I've ever had, especially moving across the country. Jason was extremely helpful and everyone was very warm and inviting. The whole process was seamless and easy. The apartments are, of course, very nice and updated. We just moved from another brand new complex who cheaped out on building materials, the cabinets there were flimsy and everything broke. This is NOT the case here, everything feels very nice and substantial. We only had a couple of small things since move-in, a light bulb burned out (which they replaced quickly) and the hot water takes a very long time to reach the bathrooms. The latter (due to my research) seems to be a building issue, nothing they can do. I think it's the placement and length of the pipes, and they claim no one else is experiencing this so I wouldn't count this against them. The office staff is super nice, I've never received anything short of a smile and warm greeting even when just walking by. They are extremely pet friendly also. Everyone I've met in passing that lives here is also very nice (could be the difference between Dallas and the PNW). There's an awesome coffee/bike shop downstairs and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The area is very quiet, right across the street from city hall and the sounder station. It's about a 30 minute train ride to downtwon and every major bus line runs through here. Perfect alternative to sitting in traffic if you work downtown. I've seen quite a few transients walking around downtown Auburn, but surprisingly they are pleasant and never even ask for money. I feel very safe even walking the dog in the middle of the night, and I've lived in the middle of some major cities. Overall we are very happy so far. One of the negatives I've seen is the parking, I'm not sure why. If you pay $100 you have a nice assigned spot (something I usually don't get in these types of apartments). If you want to save money and pay $45 you park across the alley (about 50 feet away) and there are tons of empty spots still. Anyways, I'd recommend Trek for sure. Hated living here. No covid precautions the first 9 months of the pandemic. Moved out and they are still charging for utilities even though I paid the remaining balance after final move out. The new management is horrible, the only time I see them is when they are outside on a smoke break. Be prepared for doors slamming doors in the hall way and the smell of weed. Also homeless people sleeping in the alley when you go to your car at 5am. They don't accept packages due to the pandemic but don't refill their hand sanitizer station. I really wish I could write two reviews: one for the Trek Apartments (4/5 Stars) and one for Auburn (0/5 Stars). The apartments themselves are nice and modern. I used to manage my company's corporate properties in Seattle, and the apartment I have is comparable to the $3k apartment that I used to manage on First Hill. Of course, the price point for these apartments are much more affordable. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, and a glass top stove which are nice touches. The stove is actually well calibrated too, so it is easy to cook with. The bathroom is nice too. The water is eco-friendly. This lessens the water pressure but it isn't a huge issue, and it is a modern building. This is becoming increasingly more standard with newer properties. Another huge selling point is the washer and drier in the unit. The washer and the dryer are both well sized, and can handle a king sized comforter. I really, really appreciate not having to go elsewhere to my laundry. Also, there are complaints against the property management team. In my experience, these complaints are largely unfounded. The property management team is really laid back. I have yet to see them rude, incompetent or malicious in any way. They are generally understanding and if you communicate with them, you will have no issue. In fact, they are really nice (specifically Mario). So it is weird to see that brought up as an issue in the other reviews. I do wish that the building had AC because it does get warm, but that is something I will look for in another apartment down the road. But then, there is Auburn. Auburn, as a city, is just generally not a great place. It is loud, as other people have mentioned. So many people here rev their engines, or speed through on the main road (that has a speed limit of like 30 mph). Drivers also blast their music, and do this at all hours. Sometimes, you don't even hear music. You just hear a car that is rhythmically rattling down the road from an overextended subwoofer. This annoys the hell out me. Auburn is largely not safe either. So, while the city used to put money into beautifying the Downtown pre-COVID, I felt like the efforts were largely useless because I can't walk around by myself--or at least I wouldn't risk it. And then there is COVID. The population of Auburn doesn't seem that worried about the pandemic. Hardly anyone is wearing masks out and about in the grocery stores or even in this apartment building. The restaurants around here are getting a little more packed each day, and it is just generally disconcerting to be around so many people who have no regard for others. Tl;dr: The apartments are modern, and nice, with a kind and nice property management team. However, the city of Auburn is a loud and unsafe place that has a lot of work to do before they achieve their goal of being a cute Downtown shopping destination. Best for commuters who work in the Downtown Seattle area, but don't want to pay for Seattle rent. read more

Omg! Where do I starts? Pro? Convenient to banks (if you're with chase and key), grocery, coffee shops. Newer place and looks nice but....... Cons? Sh I tty parking! You have to pay from $45+ par month per parking and your ghetto neighbors that have crappy cars don't care about your car and will ding your car. Sad at the mall parking lots, people cares enough not to hit your car but here? Be prepared that your car will be F-up. Water pressure sucks! Water temperature is at state minimum requirement, only one end have elevator, the new staffs as of now they are morons! Lazy don't wants to do anything! Making excuses, pretend to know the laws but actually don't! During the summer times, it's freaking hot! And hard to cool down as all of these units are not well insulated which means in the winter (is now) my heaters are running 23/7 as it actually stoped for a minute but it's always running. There is a law for that as well and I've been leaving paper trail to get this fix or the apartment will have to pay my electric bill! The apartment is always smells of burning stuffs! Like cigarettes or paper burning or woods burning or food burnt. If you ordered something online, the staffs don't notified you that you have package! You have to track that. I one time knew I am expecting a package and don't have tracking number available and it was deliver and sat at the office for a month and half! My advice is not to move here unless you don't mind the loud noise from cars and the train that goes through every 3 hours, homeless screaming in the middle of the night and living in our stairs way, keys for everything, and moron staffs that doesn't do anything. Your neighbor using your units before you move in as everything breaks down in here. I wish I could give -10 stars!!!! read more

Pros: Modern building with great looks inside and out. The office staff was always a pleasure to deal with and the maintenance staff was quick to respond to work orders. The common areas have modern decor and were always kept clean. They hold your packages and were good in communicating that you had packages waiting. They hold community events, raffles, contests and provide free food and drinks at times. They know residents on a first name basis which creates a friendly environment and even remember your pets names. Residents are respectful and friendly as everyone minds their own. Cons: The area gets shady/ghetto at night with the transit center being there as questionable individuals roam around. Multiple times I saw homeless sleeping in the alley between the parking garage and main building. Also while walking my dog at night I'd see tweakers running around and screaming, makes you nervous. Lastly I had a beer bottle smashed on the hood of my car when parked on their uncovered parking. I asked to have their security footage looked at and I was told they found nothing nor did they see anyone near my car. Months later I found out from one of the maintenance guys that they couldn't see anything in the video because where my car was parked the camera couldn't really see anything due to the angle (blind spot) and he pointed out where I should park if I wanted my car visible to the camera. Really? Lol. The parking gate broke a few times and was left open for over 5 days at one point and before we moved out apparently there had been random ppl jumping the gate and getting in down through the stairs that lead to the alley. read more

I love living here, I'm going on year 3 and about 1.5 years ago we got a new management team and they are the best. They really care about the residents and maintain the building really well. No change in rating for this update (I can't go any lower). As the warm weather is hitting us, I started opening my windows more. I don't have any idea of how I didn't notice this before but the trains run 24/7. I am sure that I am just fortunate to have the perfect alignment of my window to the station. So if you love the loud sounds of the train horns... you will absolutely fall in LOVE with this place. You will enjoy those sounds at all hours of the day and night. You will impress your friends, family, and business contacts with those unique sounds during phone conversations and visits. I could tell you that these sounds happen every 7 to 10 minutes but you would think I am bragging. So, I will let you discover that for yourself. Enjoy!!! read more

I currently am a resident at Trek. The 1 star is for the decision in not accepting any packages for residents as of 4 weeks ago due to the current lockdown which just got extended till Jan 4th. This lockdown most likely will be extended again and again till who knows when. The only thing that really changed from the new lockdown was no indoor dining and 25% capacity at shops. I dont see the correlation to that and not accepting packages for residents. Trek really needs to find a new solution to this as this lockdown is not going to end anytime soon. Ive checked with my friends in downtown Seattle and Bellevue who live in similar style apartment buildings, and they are all accepting packages for residents. Even Ethos apartments in Kent is too!!! So I dont understand why Trek is the only apartment in the world doing this. The only thing I can think of is the staff being lazy and enjoying this as its less work for them. They are behind their closed doors with curtains closed. They state its for everybodys safety, but I always see the apartment staff roaming around the lobby WITHOUT masks. So my theory is if they are that relaxed to roam around the lobby without masks, they can accept packages for residents. Especially with Xmas coming around, its really hard trying to send packages elsewhere to pick up. Please Trek, reconsider what u are doing, this current lockdown is going to be extended again and again for months. There is obviously safe ways to give packages to residents like having us stand behind the glass wall, and picking up the package once u are in ur office. Theres a new apartment right across the street opening very soon. Trek needs to get there game together. read more

My boyfriend and I had something really unexpected happen in our life and were forced to relocate on an extremely short notice. I'm talking days. We we're looking for apartments as fast as we could and had zero luck, but then we found Trek, and I was a little skeptical at first because of how fast things seemed to be moving, but they assured me that they would do all they could to help, and did they deliver! I don't necessarily know the title of these individuals, but Kaeli and Emmanuel were not only so warm and welcoming, but offered the best help they could give in the so little time we had. With the help of both of them, we ended up moving in in almost less than a week! And we couldn't have done it without them. Both kept positive attitudes and treated us as if we were already home, even before we got the keys. And! We love it! The space we have is completely perfect for us with a beautiful modern feel and amazing appliances, not to mention a barn door! We have made ourselves at home and are loving it. Trek Apartments really helped us out, and in style! And now, that we're moved in, they have the same energy and are even more friendly and welcoming, so thank you Kaeli and Emmanuel for all of your help, please don't think it went unnoticed! Also, shoutout to the new maintenance supervisor, forgive me, I forgot his name. But he recently got hired and literally was so nice and cool, and made me feel supported and welcomed and dealt with all of my stupid questions! I lived in Trek for the last year and just recently moved out after 12 months. I wanted to wait until my lease ended to comment. Pros: It's the nicest apartment building in the downtown Auburn area. You won't find anywhere else in Auburn so new/modern. Units have plenty of space and the gym is small but nice to have. The building is literally a 2 minute walk to the train station. Cons: Although new(ish), Trek was built quickly and cheaply. It's mostly wood construction with a brick/steel facade. Air Conditioning; there is no central air and no air conditioning option of any kind, nor is it possible to install a standard window-mounted AC anywhere in your unit. It gets very hot in Auburn in the summer time (being inland) and your only options are a fan or buying a portable AC because window-mounted AC's will not work with the windows in Trek. If you buy a portable unit, you will still have trouble with the exhaust hose because the windows are tall, narrow and open outward so you'll still be letting hot air in. No big deal for 3/4 of the year, but for the 3 months it's hot, it gets miserable (especially on upper floors with the heat rising). The irony is that the ground floor lobby and rental/administrative offices all have central AC, but the rest of the building does not. Noise; Trek is in an extremely loud location. The tradeoff to living so close to the train station is that you hear trains at all hours of the day, and in the summer, you have no choice but to open your window since there's no AC. Unless you are a heavy sleeper, the 2am train will wake you up every night, especially in the summer. Safety/security; it's perfectly safe during the day time, but it can get dicey at night. The alley in between the back of the building and the adjacent parking garage is a hot spot for homeless people and drug users. There were frequent late night/early morning fights between homeless people in the alleyway behind Trek year-round that could get very loud (and worrying). Also, do NOT park on the street overnight or for extended periods of time in the evenings; there are frequent car jackings in downtown Auburn and it's almost a given your car will be broken into if you aren't in the garage once it's dark outside. Water pressure/temp: Both suck. The water pressure is low and the hot water lasts for ~5 minutes. Each unit has a water heater that is fairly small and energy efficient, meaning it does not heat very much water at any given time and so do not plan on long showers or ever having enough hot water to fill up a single bath tub if you like baths. This is the most objective review I could write. I had neighbors who loved the building for its proximity to the train station and its new(ish) construction, and I had other neighbors who broke their leases early to get out because the building was cheaply built and the location has a lot of downsides (like 24/7 train noise and all those hypodermic needles and 3am street fights). If I had it to do over again, I would have rented in Kent or Puyallup; both are in the same area and have relatively new apartment buildings close to their train stations but without a lot of the problems that Auburn is currently experiencing. read more

Apartments are modern and pretty new built. Wall are pretty thinker then normal But I hate the loud trains that you hear coming by every 30 mins. It drives me nuts. Parking in the garage is $100 bucks for a stall. There's another parking garage right next door for $45. Ohhh and I never knew how ghetto is was in auburn until I lived here. For someone who is not from Washington and dealt with racial comments elsewhere within the state, I was never treated or looked at differently. My daughter and I moved in on June 5, 2016. I gave Trek apartments 4 stars because; 1. The great people who work here! I was absolutely grateful to Cassie, who quickly got us into an apt. My daughter and parents (who were helping us with the move) were living out of the La Quinta Resort down the street and my car, for the past 3 days and was desperate to find a place to call home. Cassie and Jason was so welcoming to us when we walked in on June 4th. Cassie quickly took my information, showed us the apt., and called me back the next day to let me know we got the apt. Thank you!!! 2. Ed, the overall "Jack of all trades"! I see him working everyday. Never have I seen him sitting and/or relaxing. He is constantly on the move. 3. Trek apartments has an outdoor gathering area for bbq, and downstairs lounge for larger gatherings. It is a secured apt. with swiper cards and garage fobs. 4. Trek apts. are close to schools, restaurants, gas stations, banks, City Hall, etc... I would have given Trek apt. 5 stars, but I noticed the following. It has nothing to do with the people working at Trek, It has nothing to do with the trains (although they are loud). It has nothing to do with the traffic noise, it has nothing to do with the way the apt. was built. It has to do with SOME of the tenants who live here. You are adults. Please clean up after yourselves and/or your kids, and FOLLOW THE RULES! You may have a lot of money to spend if our rent goes up because of your selfishness, but I don't. This is my first time renting an apartment. Yes it can be noisy but understand this you are in the middle of the downtown area. The train stop is two blocks away. You are on a main street. The hospital is also two blocks away and you will hear ambulances. People can be loud outside but I find this to be a great location in spite of the negatives. You can as I did get used to it. As far as management here Marta and Reyvi have been great. I find they are on top of things and are very pleasant to deal with. I have put in requests for repairs and find the next morning maintenance is at my door ready to work on my complaints such as change light bulbs, change shower head and bathroom faucet sink, loose wall plate cover replaced. The halls are vacuumed and windows are clean. Security is good here. I am very happy here and I would recommend Trek. The management people here are most likely not the same management company that people previously complained about. This is city living. My suggestion is If you can't accept it then you might want to look at renting a home. So do your homework before you commit. LK read more

Entrance door at apartment does not seal tight and your bathroom fan that is wired to run 24/7 will gently carry all the smells from your neighbors burned fish and pizza through your master bedroom into master bath. Train honks in the middle of the night from only two blocks away Place is full with tenants with all kinds of pets. It is very likely that management as an effort to reduce vacancy ratio allowed high number of pet policy exceptions some time ago. As I was advised later breeds of dogs that are heavier then 35 lbs. are not allowed but don't be surprise to meet big dogs as you step into the building. There is always "fresh" dog urine puddle by the gym entrance off Division Street. Homeless are sleeping and picking from garbage cans in the alley. Management was placing memos on information board in the elevator saying that cleaning supplies available in the rental office if you have to clean after your pet in the elevator which makes me think that it has happened several times before. During a few month we have been eye witnesses of numerous fights in the alley, police arrest for drug use in the public place, a pickup was stolen during the day time from gated parking, one of the neighbors atacted and assaulted another neighbor screaming: "You killed my daughter!" Auburn police Department should get credit for a prompt response. It is not unusual to see needles on the ground when you walk from the building to the gated parking. For us and our children that was just enough to decide to move out. Upon recognizing of excessive number of personal safety concerns we have decided to move with our children to the safer place. What a pleasant surprise was to learn that instead of paying one month of a rent (around $1900) we are being charged over $4,000 for breaching 12 month lease agreement.Electronic contract that was sent via email apparently was signed by a manager Martha that we have not met yet and penalty amount was stated over $4,000. A friendly advice: don't let a nice candy wrap trick you, so don't take at the face value what you are being told during the sale presentation. That could be just a simple misunderstanding so we are not going dispute anything unless some other ex-residents will find themselves in the same situation. Poor communication with potential new renters, waste of my time working with the management. During regular business hours phone goes unanswered. When It did get answered, I kept getting the run around. "We'll call you tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow." --6 tomorrow's later, I received an email. Not a call. Extremely unprofessional.
