This review is specifically for Charlie, but I've never had a bad experience at the store. I brought an Emonda (not purchased at this store) in to Trek Wicker Park several times last year for various fittings and accessories for triathlon training I was doing. As a person in sales myself, I appreciate when someone does not try to oversell me for something I don't need. I arranged for a tuneup, and Charlie had me come back two different times to ensure that my fit and seat position were perfect. I purchased new pedals, a new seat, new handlebar wrappings, and new tires from this store last year. Because of my great experience, when I needed a new bike this year, I walked back into Trek and was happy to see Charlie. He helped me figure out exactly which bike I needed, and I rode out with a Domane Disc 4. Of course I needed various accessories for my new purchase, and he was always careful to ask me exactly what and how I planned on using them to ensure I had the right products. I recently purchased a used Trek and wanted someone to take a look and let me know of any work to be done, each time I called, the gentleman on the phone was so friendly and helpful. Upon stopping by with my bike, the mechanic popped it right up on the rack, tightened some parts, and talked with me and patiently and kindly answered all of my questions. The service is speedy, efficient, and done right in front of you which is awesome as you can really see what the problem is while they fix and explain! We brought our 7 year old son in to pick out a new bike and had the great pleasure of being assisted by ANDY. She is just phenomenal, caring and super talented with children. She outfitted my son with a helmet to wear while he test-rode the age appropriate bikes she had in stock. She even gave him some basic bike mechanics lessons! When he had decided on his favorite, she gave him a special certificate to commemorate the occasion. We also took advantage of the store's program and were able to trade in the trek he outgrew for $100 towards our new purchase. I highly recommend this store and especially ANDY! Went in and bought a hybrid bike. Shawn was very helpful, informative and patient (even though they were closing soon) with me so I felt confident in my choice. He made sure I was happy with my choice and even helped me load it into my car. I later felt regret for not trying out a road bike so I came back before the 30-day return policy. However, they didn't have the road bike I wanted in stock. So Julius, the manager, ordered it for me for no charge and without obligation to switch it for my hybrid. He even guaranteed that he would extend the 30-day return policy because it wasn't in stock. I came back a week later to test drive it when it arrived and was assembled. I'm so glad I did because while I liked the hybrid, I loved the road bike. Raquel happily switched all my accessories from the hybrid to the road bike and Madeline made adjustments to the road bike per my feedback after the test drive. Raquel even encouraged me to test drive other road bikes (after the time they already spent helping me) to make sure it was the right road bike for me. Overall I've never experienced this much great customer service from an entire team. I'll definitely be returning back when I'm ready to upgrade to an even more wicked bike. -Aaron read more

I hate having to write this but just needed to be done. My bike (Excalibur- 8) has been in the shop for 4 months, for a crank arm that fell off for the 2nd time. Mind you, I bought the bike brand new less than a year ago. Now missing majority of the season there is still no sign of my bike being fixed. After Alex (main mechanic, I guess) repeatedly fed me lies about time frames on the parts arrival. There is still no time line and they're holding on to my bike at this point. Trek is overrated and the product is faulty. If I ever get my bike back I'm selling it immediately and taking my business elsewhere. If you're reading this and thinking about Trek trust me don't do it!!! If you need repairs don't even think about it!! Not here!! read more

I've had good experiences here. I bought a high end road bike here and always bring it back for service. The service center is really great. When you bring it in they do a quick run through and suggest what they think should be done and then give you prices. They'll call before doing something else if it comes up. My one complaint is nobody called after buying the bike to see how it was. Maybe that's asking too much but with the price you pay for some of the bikes it would make you feel a lot better about it. Doing something like that would ensure I wanted to come back for my next one instead of shopping around for the lowest price! read more

Last year while looking for Bikes for my husband and myself I had the good fortune to happen upon this corporate owned Trek store in Wicker Park. I was sold immediately by the staff who could not do enough to make us comfortable in understanding the difference in the bikes we were looking at purchasing. A month later I brought a friend to purchase a bike, same experience. This year we brought our bikes in for their 1 year year free check up and this is when I was truly blown away. I came to pick up my bike, Jordan the manager said you might think your bike looks a bit different. When we noticed during the check up that your seat was a bit high for this size frame we realized you were most likely fitted wrong last year so we changed out your frame to a larger bike frame to fit you better and make your riding safer. This is on us. OMG is all I could think. No one today offers without even an inquiring to exchange something a year old when you don't even know you might have an issue. Since last year I have brought 2 friends to buy bikes and have purchased 2 more as gifts. I am a trek convert and this stores convert forever! read more
