Management and technicians at this store are great! I dropped my Trek off last week for a wheel replacement, I was sure this was going to take long as it was a warranty claim. Today, Brian called me to let me know that my Trek was ready. Not only did they do the wheel, they also took care of my chain replacement and tubeless adjustments. My husband and I took our 5 year old grandson to get a bigger bike. The salesperson Todd was very patient as Luke tried ALL the sizes, colors, taking off the training wheels for another test drive etc etc. Anyway when we finally settled on size and color, the only one available was in another location and still in the box. Went in to look at road bikes. Salesman came over and I told him what I was looking for. He looked around and said he did not have one in stock. I asked what the price is and he told me between 5000. and 10,000. Then he walked away and went back to the front desk and continued to do what he was doing before. This is the first review I've written and I didn't end up buying a bike here. I cracked the frame on my Raleigh bike. I went to Trek to get a new bike. I talked with Ashley and she mentioned I should check the warranty first. I did and the warranty is lifetime but you have to have original sales order and receipt; I found both stapled into the warranty book. Long story short, Raleigh is sending me a new bike because my bike was so old (22.5 years) they can't just send a new frame. I never would have thought to check the warranty as I knew I'd bought the bike a long time ago. So this review is really about Customer Service. It's rare to find good Customer Service any more; it just is. If you are looking for a new bike, you should give Trek the business. Also, consider a Raleigh. Both companies are outstanding. read more

I've been riding a mountain bike on the road for the last 6 months and this past Sunday, I decided to shop for a road bike. My daughter suggested Trek and I told her that I couldn't afford anything in there; once again, she was right and I was wrong. I was helped by Larry, the General Manager, and after telling him what I'd been riding and what I wanted, he went straight to a Cannondale CAAD8 105 5, which was on sale, and there was a $100 store credit. After being fitted using their computerized bike that electronically adjusted, he took those measurements and made a few adjustments and I took a test ride; the bike's setup was perfect. I took the info about the Cannondale to 4 other bike shops, test rode several other brands, but nothing was as perfect as the Cannondale, nor was the customer service; Larry blew them all away and he exceeded my expectations. read more

I drive up after 4pm, (new store hours) and doors don't swing open, I take a close look inside some guy walks up saying their closed & before I ask my question some guy drives up w/a Trek bike on his roof and rudely asses in before I ask my question and they have a nice conversation whilst I stand there....looking like a kid while the adults talk......he almost let's that guy in......I recently burned my bike crashed coming down Mt. Cuyamaca & was gonna see if a sales person could talk me into around a 3-4k dollar rig. Too bad.....poor form guys.....poor form. You need to train your sales Managers/Salesfolk on how to disseminate & focus between weekend (I've got no probs W) MTB bikers ($$) and those avid riders ($$$$) And yes, you kinda, maybe, might have guessed it....guessed what shade of bronze I was? Very close to home. Good help from the staff once I asked for it. We didn't get greeted at all until I asked for help. For 4 people working with barely any customers, not a good start. Like any bike store, they'll let you ride any of the bikes, but you will have to leave them a credit card and a photo ID. Since they are a Trek store, that's what they sell. They also have rides and classes, so that's a plus. If you let it, it will be a one stop shop. Wasn't for me because of the prices to what you get for it. read more

I called Friday morning around ten, asked if they could adjust the derailer on my giant ebike, the polite female that answered the phone had to go check with the tech in the back, came back quick and said no because it's not a Trek bike. The ad online says they work on all bikes, wondering if whomever she checked with was being lazy, came off as a snobby bike mechanic doosher. I've bought a trek mt. bike there, and helmets and other gear, wont be going back now. hope they're not paying a high salary to this guy, I would never get away w that at my job. read more

Came in here to check out some enduro mountain bikes.... to see what Trek had to offer.... The Trek Remedy was looking good, but they didn't have the frame size I needed..... Eryk Nash.... was helping me out... pretty rad guy... helped with all my questions... even weighed the bike for me on their in house scale and discussed component sizing and weights. He ordered a smaller frame for me to be shipped down from the warehouse with a 200 dollar deposit so I could try it out in the parking lot when it arrived in about a week to see if The Remedy was a good fit for me... The customer service here was a pretty stellar thing.... Eryk was as smooth as this bike rolled.... Overall, was pretty impressed with the accommodating customer service here for me on trying out a bike with proper frame sizing.... yes folks you do have that option. Trek La Mesa is by far the best bike shop I have been to in 20 years! From the store manager to the sales manager to the guys in service... They all greet you with a smile, are knowledgeable, extremely polite and friendly. There's none of that "elite cyclist" kind of attitude that I get at some of the smaller bike shops when they see a beyond middle-aged woman coming in with her electric Townie e-bikes. I brought two bikes in for service today and the sales manager saw me offload them from my bike rack. Before I could roll one of them 2 feet he hurried out to help me grab the 2nd bike and bring it inside . They all go above and beyond with their customer service ,and I so appreciate that !!! There's never pressure or over sell in service or sales and they are genuinely friendly and interested in having a conversation. Even though I drive over 15 minutes to go to Trek, when there are 3 bike shops within 2-5 minutes of my house, I don't care. The staff here are amazing. Ashley , Greg and Tim all helped my wife and myself with all the gear we needed as we got into cycling. I had bought a new road bike and they helped me get everything else! You can literally go here and get everything at such a great price!! I started training for a triathlon and they even ordered a Garmin watch I wanted that couldn't find anywhere. After a 15 year hiatus, I finally was able to get my dream mtn bike thanks to my wife. As a birthday present, I was given the chance to pick through the mtn bike selection at the trek store in La Mesa. I initially spoke with Lee, the master bike mechanic whom I've known for several years. He referred me to Eryk and he walked me through several bikes , options and prices. I chose the Trek FUEL EX 8. I was happy to take my time and Eryk made it happen. I came back the next day to purchase some accessories and Ashley was there to help me out. This place is incapable of fixing bikes and will steal your money. I can't express how unsafe and harming these technicians are to your bike and well-being. You are better off building a bike yourself using YouTube. They won't remember you too which was annoying when they asked if I purchased the bike from them the week prior.
