I came in to fix or replace the front wheel of a friend's road bike (as a surprise Christmas gift) -- several spokes had cracked when he moved. It was from one of those no-name companies where you order the bike online and it gets delivered but you have to do the final assembly yourself. Anyhow, the owner recommended a replacement instead of a repair, and gave me a really good deal on a used but very nice, significantly higher end wheel instead. Took my wife's GT bicycle in expecting to spend a lot of money on a tuneup and within 10 minutes he had us fixed and back on the road. I had bought a Granite Peak Roadmaster from the marketplace and already knew I had to have it tuned, but with so many local bike shops charging astronomical prices, I knew I had to find a cheaper alternative. So as of today I did just that and man am I very glad I stumbled upon this store locally. The owner Acir was the definition of a true bike expert and very friendly. If anyone out there is looking for an affordable and not overly priced bike service shop please visit Acir's store. Overall we need more local shops like these where you come in, get what you need fixed, and walk out feeling like you got your money well worth it and not bummed that the place charged hundreds just for some stupid part like dealerships do as an example. "Google it, they said".. sadly that's what I did... terrible way to treat a customer, though. I've used their services in the past and thought I'd check to see if they did a simple foot peg install, was rudely told " No and to try another company... so and so.. I asked if they were local and was told to "Google it".. sad to see the helpful customer service / friendly attitude has declined. I took my bike to the bike shop for a tune up and to check if it needed anything last week and I'm so glad I did. I met with Acir the owner and his friend Paul. Two great guys that have a passion for bikes. Acir was working on a bike when I came in, but he stopped and put my bike on the rack right away. I had some problems with the gears and in no time he fixed it and explained everything he was doing and seeing. He replaced a set of break pads and showed me that I needed more air in my tires. The whole experience was awesome, I walked away with so much knowledge from Acir and Paul, and all with a smile. This place and the owner are really great. I got my bike maybe 4-5 years ago and had never had it tuned up. When I brought my bike in, Acir checked it out immediately. He was very attention to detail and very willing to take the time to explain to me how each part I inquired about works. I was impressed with his competence, knowledge and affinity for bikes. My bike needed a lot of love, especially because my biggest concern is safety as I ride my two-year-old son around in a seat located in front of me on the bike. Acir had the work done before the day was over requiring replacing about 8 parts or more - he also stayed in contact with me, keeping me updated on his progress via text. Upon picking up my bike, it looked brand new. Acir took the time to clean grease and grime off all parts, in between the gears and within areas I did not expect him to. The shop itself is very clean and as is Acir - very professional, friendly and attentive. I'll be bringing my husband's bike here in the near future and will 100% be referring my friends/anyone to The Bike Shop.
