The space is gorgeous - open barn-style seating, breezy countryside vibes, and just a really peaceful place to hang out with a glass in hand. Beli was right about the $$$. The bottle I brought had me out of breath and Googling "do Asian dads like super dry wine" mid-sip. It was a bold red, super dry and refined, but honestly not my favorite. The guy behind the bar mentioned one of their wines tends to appeal to a younger audience, and yeah... maybe that was the one I should have picked. That said, their whites and more refreshing options were actually quite nice - definitely more aligned with what the Finger Lakes does well. Pro tip: Stick to the whites, sample before committing, and come for the chill vibes (and maybe a soft reset for your palate). read more

We were at the Destination 30 year an concert and oredered food right after the band's break. Food took 45 minutes and the band only had 3 songs left. I was refunded the cost but will never go back. iI you ever eat there expect and extremely long wait for simple food. Ruined the concert for me. read more

Nice winery! They have a huge area out back where as many 2,000 people visit when they have a band in the summer. Surprisingly, they also have a wide selection of beers on tap as well such as Miller Lite. My wine server, Lev, is the son of the founders. It's a pleasant, welcoming place. For the four years our daughter attended college in the Finger Lakes region, my wife and I enjoyed visiting her and trying out different wineries. Treleaven is the only one we visited twice. Attended a fundraiser at their winery last night. Definitely an amazing thing for them to do to offer their property so others may benefit. Last nights event was fun and I'm glad we were able to support it. The site is beautiful and expansive and the stage they have for the band makes it invaluable for outdoor events. Last night, the weather was beautiful and the space was filled with people having a great time. We did too. My reason for 4 stars is the very long lines we had to wait in for food or drinks. There has got to be a solution to shorten these lines. I had the dry rose and the boyfriend had a beer. Both were nice. Try the Blanc Ebuillient (Bubbly) it's the best They have a little bit of everything : red wine, white wine, beer, flights growlers, pints and a wine club with nice perks all year. A beautiful space with lots of seating. They have a pretty broad wine selection, although I will admit most of their whites are in the sweeter side for me. Their newest Riesling was surprisingly dry enough for my palate, which was a pleasant surprise. I love that they have food right on site so you can get a meal while you enjoy your wine. One of my favorite wineries has grown into an event center. During the summer months there is always bands there and food, great date afternoon to go along with excellent dry whites. Good beer selection if wine isn't your thing. One suggestion: PLEASE make masks optional for your staff! We are not politicians laughing and drinking unmasked while the staff serving us is masked up, we want them to have the same freedom of choice as we your customers do. read more

When we arrived we drove to the parking where there were various cars. As we were getting out of our van a pleasant gal ran up to instruct us that this was the workers area and instructed us to the regular parking area. Came here on a Sunday afternoon. The place had a nice crowd but not too busy. Staffs were very friendly and helpful, and the wines were tasty. Outdoor area well designed and furnished. This seems to be quite the destination as there was a bachelorette party and some party buses attending tastings. This was our favorite winery we went to and we honestly liked all of the tastings. We enjoyed that the staff walked you through and educated you about each wine, it felt like a truly personalized experience. They also gave you 6 different wines where other wineries gave you 4. I don't really enjoy white wines and wound up buying the silver lining, semi dry Riesling and the dry rosé. Runner ups for me were the premier club p3 red, premier club dry rosé. My boyfriend liked the Tacie's Chardonnay, Ml and Riesling. We both agreed to pass on the Oakes Cabernet franc. They give you a convenient carrying case for the wines too. Love this place! The last couple of years we have had really welcoming experiences, and enjoy the wines. There is a good mix of sweeter wines typical to the area, but also a good balance of semi- and dryer wines. The "new" back patio and yard space is wonderful. Last year we enjoyed the music in the afternoon, and this year we enjoyed yoga on the patio. Both were so much fun and refreshing. The views are so beautiful as well. There are fun games, such as corn hole, to enjoy as well. There are tons of more fun events here that I hope to get to go to eventually. UPDATE 12/10/2007: After writing to the company explaining what had happened and expressing my disgruntlement with the experience at the Skanteateles shop, I recieved in the mail a few days later a package containing a new bottle of Mystere (with no floaty bits, I checked), and another, completely different kind of wine. I found this to be an excellent display of customer service and have amended my rating accordingly. BTW, the Mystere was sweet, but a rather fine, drinkable wine. Original post: The motto for the King Ferry Winery is "Once Experienced, Never Forgotten". Oh how apropos that statement is. We picked up a bottle of Mystere NV and I wish we had taken the man at the counter's advice against it. "Don't buy that", he says. "Its a very specific wine, sweet and dessert-y and most people don't like it." Of course whenever someone tells me NOT to do something, is when I must do it. Well, I really wish I had listened to him, because this wine was terrible! It had this thick sediment that was floating around in it and it had a sweetness all right, but it was mixed with a vinegary taste. This wine was turning! So I am peeved but there isn't much I can do about it now, since I am in the next state over and its a holiday. So now I am aggravated that my stubbornness had gotten the best of me yet again, as well as to the guy that is selling wine he either doesn't know is turning to vinegar, or knows and just warns people not to buy it. erg. read more

We stopped on a 94 degree day to grab a bite to eat. We had our 75 pound sheepdog with us and wanted to keep him cool and comfortable and the staff was extraordinarily accommodating. We had absolutely delicious smoked pastrami and Reuben sandwiches with a bottle of Pete's Reserve Chardonnay. A great place to rest and recharge. The food we will return for! read more

Just had my wedding here and couldn't speak more highly of the event planner Hattie and the staff that went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect! From making wine recommendations for the open bar to helping decorate the day of, they were there with me through every minute of the planning process. The pavilion is such a beautiful space during the day with the exquisite landscaping and craftsmanship, and it transforms into a charming space with cute lights and a rustic feel after dark. We were camping nearby and decided to go to this winery. It was during the middle of the week, so there was only one other group there for a tasting, which I am sure allowed the staff to really devote a lot of time to us. Michelle was the staff person that assisted us, and she was incredibly patient and kind, and took the time to answer all of our questions and pointed out the wines that matched what we liked. She also mentioned that they have special events and fundraisers during the year, which made us wish that we lived closer. We especially liked that they have special wines that devoted part of the sales to the local ASPCA (Charlie is our favorite). We had a fabulous lunch! The outdoor area is lovely, I could smell the lilacs from our picnic table. The tasting was great, you are able to totally customize. The food was excellent - barbecue shrimp, turkey bacon sandwich, French dip were all fresh - no shortcuts here. The Caesar salad was a little strange - made with spring mix, but very good. Visited this winery that's just outside of Aurora. Wine tasting of six selections were $5 per person. They also had three craft beers on tap for tastings as well at no charge. We ended up purchasing the Reserve Cabernet Franc for $27.99 It had pleasant floral notes with a nice smooth finish. Quiet little winery but was happy to see a Childs area with small chairs and table, coloring books with crayons and storytime books. Pets welcome too. read more
