I was really impressed with the service from Tremblay Motors. They were able to get my car in really quickly (same day) when I started having problems. When the problems was determined (quick and easy fix) and I arrived, Brad still took almost 20 minutes just to further explain the car's braking system to me and what to watch for in the future. This was really great service, and I really really appreciated the extra information. I got the feeling that I could trust the work that they do, and that the work is done well. Though you would think its location would automatically indicate high prices....this was not my experience. I'm not surprised they have been voted 'Best of" in the city several times. This is a great place, and you'd be a fool not to take your car here for service. I found Tremblay Motors after getting fleeced at Morrey Mazda on the northshore. Tremblay has been nothing but fair and reasonable. You'll be advised as to what you should do, why, and how much it will cost. If maintenance can wait for another day, you're not pressured into doing anything. And I agree with another reviewer that small things are fixed for free (in my case, fogged headlights and a strange noise that turned out to be a minor issue). Don't waste your money at the stealerships. Your blood pressure will be considerably lower, and your wallet much happier, if you just go to Tremblay. read more

Had an out of province inspection here recently. Usually this is terrible and becomes expensive from my experience in the past. I have found as most places nitpick and try to always find something wrong with your vehicle as your pretty much stuck with them fixing these issues. The usual alignment scam or some random part needs to be fixed. Other than a few small bulbs that needed to be replaced they passed my car without any issues or other details. Essentially they didn't rip me off and I appreciate it cause my older Subaru is in good shape but not perfect. I would have expected that most shops would have tried to screw me over with replacing more than a few parts, but not these guys. Service was great and they even washed and vacuumed my car as an extra which I really appreciate. I would recommend these guys and will certainly come back when I need some work done. read more

I hate to tell people to come to Tremblay, because it usually means i have to book my car in further and further in advance! I came to Tremblay late last year because my car ('98 Honda Cr-V) was making weird clunking noises whenever i went over a speed bump, and hadn't had routine maintenance in.. Well. I did what anyone reading this is probably doing right now; googling 'cheap reliable mechanic Vancouver' and going over all the Yelp/Facebook/blog reviews out there. Well, Tremblay not only looked good on Yelp, but came recommended to me by a shop run by a friend of a friend (who were fully booked for the week and that's why they sent me to Tremblay). I brought in my vehicle and left nervously expecting the painful, expensive phone call that usually comes from new mechanics. No such thing. They changed my oil and figured out the clunking noise was coming from the sway bars (part of the suspension i guess) under the vehicle. Not a safety concern, they said, but they're old and noisy. If i wanted it fixed, it would be around $500 for the lot of it, parts and labour included. Brad emphasized, though, that it was purely a noise and not a safety or maintenance issue whatsoever. They did find that my motor needed a tune up and i needed new spark plugs (which i new because i replaced them a couple years ago but hadn't been able to torque them in properly). Brad said it wasn't an urgent fix, however, and i could either do it now or do it next time i had an oil change. The honesty, integrity and patience of their whole team is apparent. They aren't JUST a mechanic. They have fair, transparent prices and are more than willing to take five minutes to explain exactly what's up. No crap, no inflated cost, and no doing pretend 'work' that didn't actually get done. I just dropped off my car again and know it's well taken care of. Heck, i live in New Westminster but i'll continue to go to Tremblay for as long as they're around. read more

Here's my experience with them: - They fixed my car the same day - They called me to keep me in the loop of the progress of my repairs - They listened to my specific requests regarding my vehicle - They provided an honest assessment of what needed to be done - They gave me a sensible recommendation on further repairs that would enhance the safety and value of my car in the future. - They even washed my car for free! I feel like I've hit the jackpot! A friend recommended this shop to me as my previous mechanic is out in Burnaby. That meant I basically put off taking my car in because it was a hassle to get home from while my car was worked on. Recent sketchy noises were weighing on my mind though!! Booked an appointment and it was worth the wait. I needed new brakes along with the regular oil change. The price was reasonable and the service was great. They even replaced five bulbs and only charged for the parts. Not only did I feel comfortable and welcome as a customer but I also felt confident that I wasn't being overcharged for unnecessary work. I took my car in for tune up, new brakes, headlight, major inspection etc for the first time and my end bill was most reasonable and they did the work all in one day. Jason is the best and I have had him work on my car where he worked for another now out of business garage. Brad was also friendly and courteous. I've been taking my car to Tremblay for the last 5 years for general servicing and getting winter tires put on and off, and honestly, I can't say enough good things about them. After having some bad experiences elsewhere, I'm so glad I looked on Yelp and found Tremblay Motors! From the first phone call I made to the time I got my Jeep back, they were incredibly nice, informative, patient and efficient. I know a little about cars but not a ton and I never felt any pressure whatsoever. They made multiple phone calls throughout the diagnosis and explained everything they found. I requested some price quotes and they were more than happy to prepare those. In the end, I got some urgent items done on the Jeep and tabled some other less urgent ones. Yesterday was my first experience with Tremblay Motors after having my car (2012 RAV4) serviced at HU Automotive (which sadly closed last spring as the building they were located in was to be developed into a condo - Max and his team were the most honest, transparent and trustworthy team I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with). I took it in for a regular maintenance - oil change and a check - the mileage was just under 76,000 km. I booked the appointment the week prior with no price quote (my bad) and when I arrived the estimate for the oil change and check at $220 plus tax should have been my first clue (at HU my oil changes and checks ran around $80-90). I was then phoned later and advised that my Front Brakes were down to 20% and needed new pads and rotors - estimate of $550 plus taxes. I said I was surprised that they needed to be replaced as at my last service with HU (December 13, 2018) I thought I'd been told they were still in good shape (but I didn't have the specific details in front of me). Brad assured me that they were down to 20% which I thought was odd and was a alarmed that a $220 plus taxes oil change and service was now morphing into an $800 service (final total $835.60). Brad then said that most services ran between $500 and $1,000 and that should have been my next red flag, but instead I acquiesced and consented to the work being done (which in hindsight I should not have). The next morning, it still bothered me, and I searched for the previous invoice from HU (which, yes, I probably should have done before) for the service December 13, 2018. For that service, the mileage was just under 70,000 km and the report on the brakes were that the Front were at 80% and the Back were at 90%. Therefore, according to Brad and Tremblay Motors my Front Brakes had gone from 80% to 20% while my Back Brakes had only gone from 90% to 80% - in less than 5,000 km and just over one year. I'm sorry, but I find it hard to believe that my Front Brakes would have gone from 80 to 20% while my Back Brakes went from 90 to 80% in the same period. I wish I had checked this before I consented to the service with Tremblay, but will certainly question any other recommended service more closely when, or if, I take my car back for service with Tremblay in the future. read more

He clearly explained what needed to be done while letting me know what was necessary and what I could leave til my next maintenance. This shop is friendly and most importantly, they get the job done at a reasonable price. I've been to some other shops that had really great Yelp reviews and had a very poor experience with them. For the first time I left an auto repair shop in Vancouver feeling great. I have been to many shops to repair my ol' Alero. Many have tried to up-sell me on unnecessary repairs or have quoted me on repairs that were worth more than the car itself AND then had the audacity to get enraged when I said it wasn't worth the investment. Anyways, the guy I worked with was Brad. He first asked me if there were other problems with my car because if there was a laundry list of issues than it probably wasn't worth fixing. I knew that the one thing being looked at was predominant issue - although the degree of damage was unknown - because I have had it looked at from other shops before that gave me outlandish quotes. Not only did Brad quote me around half the price of the other shops, he wasn't pushy trying to force me into repairing my car. It is so very rare to find honest and non-pushy businesses in this city. Not only did they get my car back on the road today, they saved me from having to buy a new car - which I already thought was inevitable - and allowed me to put that saved money to better use. I strongly recommend them and have complete confidence that Tremblay will be the place for all my future maintenance and repairs. read more

The high praise in previous reviews is what got me in to Tremblay, so I feel like I should add to that. I just got home from my first visit to them and am so happy to have found not only super friendly service, but honesty and professionalism. Brad was in contact with me every step of the way to let me know exactly what was going on with my car and even showed me what had happened with my brakes when I came in to pick it up. They managed to fit me in before heading out of town on a little road trip which was really good of them, and even gave my car a wash and vacuum. Got a flat tire, right in the beginning of snow season of course, and went to about 7 tire stores that turned me away, understandably. Saw this company across the street and thought I'd give it a go, Brad assisted me, and was beyond courteous and friendly. I'm not a car guy, but I've been to my fair share of them, and have yet to have been treated as politely, and informed as this. He informed me they were busy but would accommodate me, and not long before the end of day it was done, and affordable. Right at Granville Island entrance so I just took a walk and grabbed a coffee while I waited. I would not hesitate to return to this company for any future car repair issues. I had Tremblay Motors preform my pre-purchasing inspection before I bought a 2nd hand vehicle. They were great at explaining what needed to be done and the urgency of everything. Once I purchased the vehicle, I took it back to them and they did only what I asked them to, and didn't have any new "urgent" things that needed to be done. Brad was really nice and helped explain everything to me in a language that I could understand (trust me - I'm not a car person). They don't do alignments there so he referred me to another shop and even remembered me when I called back several weeks later to ask him for his advise because my car still pulled to one side after getting the alignment done. I took my car to Tremblay based on the positive Yelp reviews and was not disappointed! Had not been to my regular and trusted mechanic for over a year as they are now just too far away from where I live. I'd been getting my regular three month oil changes at Mr. Lube but was unhappy with the aggressive up-selling and had enough after basically being told not to drive my car at all unless I allowed them to flush my rad immediately. When I told them I'd rather go to an auto shop for that, the guy tries telling me I'd have to wait for weeks to get an appointment, as if I've never been to a mechanic before : ) I was greeted warmly by Ron at the front desk, and set up an appointment for the next week. He figured my car was okay to drive, despite what I had been told by Mr. Lube. They did a full inspection, flushed the rad (it did need done but not as badly as I'd been told) and recharged my AC, all for a very reasonable price. Looks like I've found my new mechanic. A follow up on my Monte Carlo.After 3 visits to a garage (3 car rentals later), it turns out the issue was the spark plugs - which by the way I had suggested Tremblay look at when I first dropped it off. After almost 900.00 and the suggestion that I would need extensive analysis ($$$) to determine the problem with my car I finally took the car to OK Tire (right across the street and definitely superior to Tremblay) and after changing spark plugs and leads the car runs perfectly. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND Tremblay motors if you have a problem with your car. Suggest Instead that you just let them service it but NOTHING more. read more

So your crusin down Crowchild in Cowtown and *ping you get a rock in your windshield and there is absolutely nothing you can do. What I chose to do was ignore it because Alberta insurance does not cover chips in windshields, and as most people know if you leave a chip over the winter it does nothing else but spread inch by inch across your windshield until you have a lovely crack that looks something like a road map. That spring we moved back to Vancouver and needed to insure out car here and ICBC wouldn't insure because of the crack in the window. They however recommended this place. They were fast, efficient, and pleasant to deal with. There was minor inconvenience for having to leave our car behind for a day but in the long run really wasn't to bad. The only draw back was that we were between insurance companies and no one would cover the damage so 657 smackers later we had a brand new windshield, and proud BC plates. Oh and one other thing, great location... right under the Granville street bridge. read more

You can't go wrong with am auto repair shop passed down from generation to generation. Honest, fair priced and 100% reasonable. They're doing things right and it shows! One example: they've taken me in immediately after I had (what I thought) was the sound of metal-on-metal-clanging-scraping-squealing-OMGWTF-imminent catastrophic car failure-every other driver staring at me while my car screams-clang-clang-squeee-clang-clang-squee type of situation. Fortunately, that turned out to be a buttload of stubborn gravel stuck between the brake pads that just refused to clear itself even after 30 minutes of driving. (Usually, I'm pretty good about car stuff, but that one got me.) Nonetheless, I was happy because they took me in right away, even though they were booked solid for 2+ weeks, did a test drive (and figured out that it was nothing). The mechanic even mentioned another issue, which I purposefully didn't say anything about to see if he would notice, and he passed my test with flying colors: no pressure, straightforward, chill and completely honest. THAT is excellent customer service. They've done some bigger repairs and maintenance for me, like the big 100k belt changes and some suspension related fixing. I've never once felt like they were overcharging me and they do quality work. It might seem silly, but I really like that they've never over-torqued my lugnuts, which is an issue I've encountered at other shops. I do my own minor maintenance, like changing spark plugs and air filters, and I Iove that they never try to upsell me. Sometimes, they forget to vacuum or wash my car, but there's so many times they've gone above and beyond my expectations that they still get 5 stars. Hands down, best shop in Vancouver! read more

Two weeks ago I did a provincial inspection at the Canadian tire. They found a list of defect like my broken windshield , waterpump and my break . They were charging 750$ to fix all this except the wind shield. I change my windshield and my water pump , but for the rest I wanted to support local business like you guys . Brought my vehicle to redo inspection at Tremblay motor knowing I would have to pay for my break to past it . Finally they found for about 3000$ of defect that's now have to fix to get that fu**** paper ! Sorry guys , but I feel that your wanted to make a bunch of money out of me today . read more

Really happy with their service. My car got towed here after it had a major meltdown, and although it took longer to repair than originally quoted (to no fault of their own), they kept me updated (both the mechanic working on my car, as well as what I am assuming is the owner), and even got me a cheaper part through an auto wrecker when I am certain they could have sold me a new part for very much more. Due to it taking longer than expected, I got a great price and my car runs perfectly, plus I felt I was dealing with ethical and honest people. I will definitely be back in future! read more

Since I'm from out of town, I tried the Subaru dealers in the area who were too busy and not interested in helping in any way.
