I was so surprised by the reviews as I have been a customer of Trendsetters for over 20 years. Annette (owner) has been doing my hair all these years and I have NEVER been disappointed. Also, I have never waited to be served and she has never canceled on me. I have my hair cut every 4 weeks and a color every 7-8 weeks. Annette attends many specilized hair classes, anywhere from styling, cutting, color, etc. I ALWAYS walk out of there completely satisfied. What I love most is that she does my hair the way "I" want it not the way "she" wants it. This is a classy operation. Very upscale salon. All services available. It is not a budget salon. It is not a place where beginning cosmetologists try and learn the trade. But it is a salon where stylists are top-notch and educated in the field of cosmetology with up to date techniques. WHY DO I SAY THIS? I am a retired licensed cosmetologist who knows and appreciates quality. I would not save money on my hair just to get a so-so look. My hair ALWAYS looks great. It is healthy and I love the staff. I also had the opportunity to have Theresa give me a style when Annette was off and she did a great job. It is nice to know you can come out of a salon looking fabulous no matter which stylist provides the service. I have many compliments on my hair and am very proud to be a customer. One must appreciate that a "trim" and "cut" is one of the same. Price is not based on how many inches is taken off your hair. The stylist must work through your whole head from top to bottom and side to side despite how much is taken off. So, sure, you pay the same price whether it be a trim or a cut. There are many cosmetology schools and other budget places to have your hair done. If you like Walmart, or the local malls, etc. for cheap cuts, color, perms, etc. then those are the places for you. But if you like personal service, an up-to-date look, perfect cuts and colors, then Trendsetters is the place for you. Annette is my favorite but they are all good. Anika is amazing!!! She is super sweet and friendly and is an amazing colorist. I am always confident going in and can honestly tell her, "I trust you. Do what you think would look good." She knows when to do highlights and lowlights to make my hair have the best dimension. My fine thin hair has never looked thicker thanks to her creativity. I am currently growing out my hair and she is supportive of my hair decisions and offers tips on how to get the perfect trim and what to avoid. She does not try to push her ideas onto me, instead she lets me tell her what I would like and she offers her professional opinion on how to make my wishes a reality. I would seriously pay for her just to wash my hair any day of the week. Sounds funny to say, but I have had some terrible washes before. She always makes sure my neck is comfortable at the sink and uses warm water and doesn't rush through it; it's very relaxing. The shop has a keurig for coffee or tea and has a cute assortment of mugs for their clients to use, rather than paper cups. A nice touch. You will find scripture versus on the walls and the decor is beautifully chic; makes me feel very comfortable and at ease. I was used to high quality haircuts when I lived in Orlando, but in KY/TN I couldn't find the same quality. For a few years I settled for long hair in a pony tail, because I wasn't willing to go through another choppy, uneven, funny feeling haircut. Then I found Trendsetters. Finally! Both Teresa and Wendy cut my now short hair, and they are awesome! I get so many compliments from strangers on how perfectly my hair is stacked in the back. The quality is well worth the price. As far as the atmosphere in the salon, I couldn't be happier. The ladies at Trendsetters are beautiful both inside and out, and they make me feel comfortable. It's a very positive environment where it's obvious the women are confident and encouraging to each other -NO gossipy, uppity women in this place. This is the only salon I've found that my husband (a combat vet) is happy to sit inside. He absolutely hated every other salon I tried, and that's an understatement. I have been a client at Trendsetters since 1989. I love the fact that this salon is based on Christian principles and has such a joyful atmosphere . I don't have to worry about hearing inappropriate language or music when I come for an appointment. I also know that if I have a problem my stylist is willing to take the time to pray with me. Another reason I continue to come to Trendsetters is because I do not feel pressured to do something to my hair that I don't want. I always feel welcomed and special when I arrive not just by my stylist but all the stylist who work there. God has truly blessed this business with numerous awards over the years. Love, love, love, Trendsetters. The decor is beautiful, all the stylist are friendly, and when you sit down in the chair the attention is solely on you. I've been going to Trendsetters approximately 10 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. Over the years I've watched all of the stylist and the treatment of the clients. Never have I seen anyone leave upset or dissatisfied. Annette, the salon owner and my stylist, goes above and beyond to help everyone she comes in contact with. I love this salon. When I first walked in I was impressed with the beauty and uplifting atmosphere . I had an appointment with Annette and when she greeted me I knew from the beginning that she would be a delight to work with. I ABSOLUTELY love Trendsetters. Everyone is so friendly. So kind. Makes u feel at home. The atmosphere is refreshing and their talent and skills are above and beyond @ very reasonable prices. Nichole has been doing my hair for 7+ years now and is a VERY talented stylist! She always takes the time to listen to what I want done, and offers suggestions as well. Ask for Kim Williams, my two teenage boys have been going to her for about 6 months and they love her and the way she cuts their hair. A very encouraging christian atmosphere throughout the whole salon. They are very nice and fast with my boys, as they don't want to sit for long getting a haircut. Kim also does alot of community service haircuts in our area at special events for the homeless and low income. She will be traveling abroad to Nicaragua soon and would truly appreciate your support.
