I've been coming here for years, as I work in the area and decided to return just to get out of the office and have a good meal. Hubby picked me up from work and drove over. We had the pick off Kam's Chinese Buffet or here. Hubby went for a slice of vegetable pizza ($3), which was huge and floppy. He said it tasted good, but "different". He then got the European sandwhich with potato chips, instead of fries. He declared the sandwich quite delicious and or looked quite substantial. I always go for a full meal. I was looking for their tripe dish, but it was no longer on the menu. I got a sweetened tea which was good, sweet but not too much, and their combo dish with three meats (skirt steak, sausage, and fried pork skins), white rice, fried sweet banana, red beans, salad with cilantro. The waitress warned me there was currently no bread which comes with the meal and I believe is baked on the premises. There was enough leftover to take home and finish for dinner. Total tab $30. Service is always prompt and pleasant and is a popular spot for the office crowd.

First impressions of Trentini's Restaurant off South Clinton Avenue in Trenton, NJ, are very positive. The dining room reminds of an adobe bright colored house in New Mexico, with semi-exposed timbers and ersatz red tile roof extending from the inner walls. The staff is friendly and attractive and provide a solid table service. A couple of the office guys went there for a pizza lunch the other day. We ordered a 12 inch pie with sausage and eggplant for two of us. It was prepared fresh for us, and took about 15 minutes to reach our table. It looked quite good with the steam rising from the bubbling volcanic cheese surface. The aroma was exquisite. We knew that this was a Spanish (Ecuadorian) Italian shop, but the menu remained heavy oriented toward Italiano. This may explain the over-reliance on cheese, rather than tomato sauce and spices to define the pie. The abundance of melted mozza made the pizza top heavy, and impossible to pick up manually, without fold and spillage. This is often the mistake of pizza makers unschooled in the ways of the tomato pie, where proper proportion among the main ingredients is critical to the success of the creation. The taste was still good, but we both resorted to fork and knife in order to keep the various layers together. It was one of those circumstances when less (cheese) is more satisfying. While I likely will not order pizza again from Trentini's, the rest of their menu, and the quality of service will lead me back there eventually to sample their other offerings, both in pasta and almuertzo Americano del Sur.

Went for lunch the first and last time...had a chicken panini sandwich and was charged a gratuity fee. Never had that happen before.

The food is great, but the young lady at the counter very unfriendly and impatient. Needs to learn how to treat customers.

Since I'm a Pizza Connoisseur, I put this historic Trenton staple to the test. I'm so glad that I…read moregot to experience this place! The pizza selections were plentiful and the staff were as pleasant as can be. I even got to meet the famous owner, Giuseppe, who was very endearing and welcoming. One particular slice did catch my eye and it was the chunky sausage slice! One thing that grinds my gears is when I see sliced sausage on my pizza.. but this place gets IT! They had generous chunks of sausage on top of the pizza. The crust was just right, not burnt nor too soft. The cheese was just right and the sauce was not acidic and had a certain sweetness to it. The place is super clean and spacious and customers never stopped coming in for their fix! Definitely will make this my go to spot for any pizza cravings in the Trenton area!

Not a fan of this pizza at all. I ordered two slices of the sausage, which tasted authentic but the…read moreslice was served lukewarm (even though it was placed in the oven) and the cheese didn't taste like real mozzarella cheese. I'm almost certain they bought that cheese from Temu. Real mozzarella cheese is bright white not off white. Definitely not a place I'd return. I'll be in Brooklyn tomorrow so I think I'll find a great pizza joint. I will say, the bottom of Covello's slice was crispy, which was great. Service was meh and definitely had better in other family owned restaurants. Anyway, I'm glad the locals love it cuz I don't.
