Sorry, no pictures! This was my first time here and if I lived closer I would definitely come back more often. I tried to make a reservation on Open Table through their website. It wasn't showing up on my account. I called the restaurant and they were able to find and confirm. I don't know if it's an Open Table glitch. They were so accommodating upon arrival when our party went from 9 people to 7. The staff was amazing and on top of everything. We ordered apps off the dining room menu but they let us order large pizzas instead of the 12" ones. We had calamari and bacon wrapped shrimp. I love that they offer the calamari in both fried and grilled. I was outvoted on the grilled but I have to say that the squid was perfectly cooked. Not chewy or fishy at all. Very tender. The breading was light and not greasy at all. The bacon wrapped shrimp were interesting. The shrimp were huge. They were drenched in BBQ sauce. I thought it was ok but I'm not sure about the flavor combo. We ordered a large plain and a large pepperoni. I thought the plain was delicious. The dough was good and not too much flop. The sauce was a bit sweet, which I like. The only issue is that the cheese and sauce didn't stick to the dough so it slid off while cutting. Pizza is MID and every single time I've come in the guy at the counter is an asshole to me. Your pizza is not good enough to be acting like this plus it's extremely overpriced. There are dozens of better pizza places within a couple miles of piccolo that you'd be better off giving your business to. read more

Solid 5 stars for the food. This is not your average pizza joint. The food is restaurant quality. I used to go here often when I worked in the area 20 years ago and was happy to see it is still a top choice for gourmet pizza and Italian food. My go-to for delicious, hearty Italian food. I've been ordering from here for over seven years. The pasta dishes are always fresh, and their sauces, especially the bolognese, are robust. They have a wide selection of everything, from appetizers and salads, to pasta, meats, and fish (and dessert, but I don't like sweets, so I can't speak to that). They are popular, for some reason. I, however, prefer other local places for the same kind of cuisine. I tend to enjoy tomato based sauces that are not too sweetened with sugar since diabetes is on the rise. I also prefer freshly made food, especially pizzas or lasagnes--the way my mom used to make meals fresh out of the oven back in the eighties. The atmosphere is okay: I have gone there from time to time if I had nothing made at home, and was hungry right after grocery shopping next door. The ice cream place next door has a more congenial and pleasant atmosphere. Perhaps this place could be benefit from having a variety of sauces or fresher options on the menu, and less gruffer voice tones when customers are waiting for their meals. It felt like more of a pizza making factory than a place to sit and enjoy a delicious set of dishes. Their mozzarella sticks were really good, though, and a few waiters: kind and well mannered. But: their atmosphere and cuisine might reflect the times in which we live: rushed and in a jiffy like a quickie. read more

I gotta say the food here is really good, but I've encountered less than stellar staff at times at the register. I've been going here for over 15 years so you're gonna have issues occasionally with most places, but I just HATE ignorance. I walked in just now to get my food, it's 9:10 p.m. so the restaurant is basically empty, if not completely. As I walk up I see a guy come from the back, and i announce my name and that I'm here for pickup, silence... I then look down and notice either a customer or server left a VERY LARGE amount of cash rolled up in a reciept, on the customers side of the register. I'm honest, so I let the guy know. He takes it, not even a thank you. We continue the transaction, complete silence. Despite this, I even told him " thank you, have a good night ". Nothing. I can't understand how you can hire people to deal with customers who are this ignorant. Just unreal. I still am giving a 4 star because I really like the food, but this isn't the first time I've dealt with a rude person at register, so I can't brinf nyself to give them a 5. The food is good, prices aren't bad, but hopefully you don't deal with the same guy I just did. Straight ignorance. We went at lunchtime and it was surprisingly crowded and very noisy. Other than that, the service was impeccable and the food was delicious. Delicious! Went for a Monday lunch with a group of five including out of town visitors. Importantly the place was quiet.I'm beyond sick of overly loud restaurants where you have to scream to be heard and can't conduct a conversation because someone managing the restaurant thinks that what you really want is bad pop music played excessively loud. The food was good and the menu gives you a lot of choices. The service was highly competent. In short this was a pleasant experience. It's BYOB and parking is easy. read more

Nice Italian pizzaria restaurant in a strip mall near TCNJ college. Clean and bright with nice background Italian music and good service. Rustica appetizer -- cold antipasto with cold cuts, cheese, olives, and grilled vegetables was a nice start. This was followed by a pretty good pasta fagiole soup and Chilean sea bass special with mashed potatoes and broccoli rabe (overpriced special at $50 -- not a great surprise when receiving check as specials menu do not include prices). Finished off the meal with a homemade cannoli. One of my dinner companions had the tagliatelle with bolognese and he did not eat most of it -- he said it was just ok. read more

Good friendly service accompanied by very reasonably priced food. I got the calamari and the Brooklyn artisan pizza (thin, crispy crust). The calamari came in a generously sized portion and had a decent crunch. Some pieces were breaded better than others though. The sauce was light, but tasty enough. We planned a funeral luncheon yesterday here. From the moment I called, everyone was helpful and willing to work with whatever for a stressful situation. They even accommodated us when the funeral ended early and were able to push the food out so much earlier. Everything was delicious, service was impressive, and all the workers were so kind to us. They even made a special plate for a very complicated allergy guest included in our price. They even gave us take home containers for the buffet after which was so kind! Coming in to get a slice is super easy here! Their GF pasta is a little expensive to be honest but the vodka sauce here is amazing so it's worth it and honestly the best option I have out here! Pizza is good for this area. However, this was the second time in the past 30 days I placed pickup order and 20min later, they didn't even start making the food. I frequent this place at least once maybe twice a week. I like it because of their pizza variety and choices. They definitely think outside the box with what they choose to put on pizza. Some I'd would have thought I'd never try or like but to my surprise it works and is good. My biggest complaint would be the personalities. I've been going there for almost 4 years and they are not friendly at all. A smile seems like an effort. I almost feel like I am annoying them when I order. It seems to all of them not just one particular person. I know it gets busy but they definitely need to step up their game on their approach. Leaving a review as my wife and I have been long standing customers. We are pizza enthusiasts. Something has changed with the pizza at this establishment. We tried two pizzas spanning a month's time between purchases. We are purists in terms of judging based on the taste and quality of a freshly made large plain pie eaten right out of the oven. The preparation and crust has changed. Either the oven temperature is hotter and the pizza is coming out hard or the dough being used has changed - or both. A great pizza starts and ends with the crust. A sign of a good pizza is when you can easily fold it and you have to or the hot cheese will slide right off. This crust is stiff as a board and it takes effort to fold it. It looks mass produced. It appears they have turned over most of the staff on the pizza side. The whole vibe is off. Overall we are terribly disappointed. To be fair, what remains consistent is the use of San Marzano tomatoes. And we do enjoy the long hots. But we come for the pizza. read more
