¡¡¡Ay qué rico!!! We live in Southern California and have access to and consume a lot of good Mexican food. Tres Amigos could contend with any of the best places at home. The food is super fresh, delicious, and authentic. We tried the taco combos. The fish, shrimp, carnitas, al pastor, nopales and chicken were all absolutely delicious. The rice and beans are excellent also- imagine the best homemade rice and beans. Alex, the gentleman who prepared our meals, was kind and helpful. I initially ordered the fish and shrimp tacos "a la diablada" because I enjoy spice. Alex cautioned me about the level of spice. He was nice enough, without me even asking, to provide a side salsa of the diablada sauce so that I could see what it would be like. (It is verrrrrrry spicy. Delicious. But spicy!) He also hopped out of the food truck and checked in on us as we ate our food. Note: The food truck is in the shopping center behind Satchmo's (the barbecue place with the mural). We shared the Mexican combination plate and a Navajo taco. The combination plate was a lot of food for the price but not the best Mexican food I've had on my trip around Arizona. The Navajo Taco was delicious and highly recommend selecting this option when eating here. It was awhile ago when we stopped at this taco truck but I just remembered some funny thing that happened when I ate there with my wife. As she was eating her burrito she began to cry, and I looked over to her and asked what's wrong, and she says this is the best burrito I've ever had. I started laughing and said gtfo of here how would you even remember you've eatin tens of thousand burritos probably lol, and she said trust me I know. I know my burritos. Anyway, now she wants to move to flagstaff and I'm partially thinking it's because of that burrito. We love to eat and we really love when we have the best of something, but I would never claim one burrito to be the best because I've eaten so many, but it was insanely good. Based on other reviews, my wife and I decided to order the mayor burrito and the shrimp and fish tacos. The mayor burrito if for someone who doesn't know what kind of burrito to order. "Do I want shrimp, beef, or fish burrito? I'll just order the mayor burrito because it has all three." There are excellent flavors in the meats and sauces included in the burrito, plus it's massive. The shrimp and fish tacos taste like Tres Amigos is using fresh seafood. My first sensation after tasting the delicious shrimp tacos, after devouring most of a burrito, was that it tasted like I was eating something healthy. I enjoy a beef or pork burrito as much as anyone, but they usually leave you looking for the nearest couch to lay down. If you think all taco trucks are the same, you haven't tried Tres Amigos. I was lucky enough to stop on a whim. I didn't think there was any way a local truck could beat the street tacos I've had while in Mexico, but I think these might! The carne asada is AMAZING and the diablo fish and shrimp will make your mouth feel like it's on fire- but the flavor is incredible!! Add in the super friendly owner and servers and you just can't get any better! I will honestly be telling EVERYONE to make a stop here for lunch or dinner. read more

It was worth the 2 1/2 hour drive! My husband had the Carne Asada and Barbacoa Tacos. (Not pictured because he ate them as soon as they delivered to the vehicle.) Wow, if you want to enjoy some delicious food then come here! We tried a few tacos and cheese enchiladas and it was soo good! The pastor, barbacoa and asada tacos were delicious and full of meat. The star of the show, believe it or not, was the cheese enchilada topped with their mole sauce. We took ours togo and had about a 20 minute drive and everything was still great! Hands down the best Mexican food in Flagstaff. Everything is wonderfully flavorful. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. My husband and I were heading back to Vegas from our anniversary trip to Sedona. We needed to find a place to eat in Flagstaff on the way home so I started searching for must eat places here. Oh my gosh, I am so grateful I found this hidden gem with the help of Yelp reviews. I ordered the diablo shrimp & diablo fish tacos combo. The amazing, super friendly gentleman warned me it would be hot. It is very SPICY yet flavorful so if you order with diablo sauce be ready for a lot of heat yet spectacular flavor. It was heaven in my mouth. Everything was perfect. He offered to bring the food to our car but we opted to sit outside at the provided benches behind the food truck next to the 101.5 radio station. As we waited , he freshly prepared our food from scratch. The mouth-watering aroma wafting at us while listening to the music from the radio station was a treat for the senses. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch / dinner while digging the tunes. He came to check on us to see if everything was fine. I was doing the happy dance while sitting and eating like a kid. The food was reminiscent of my Tia Manuela's home cooking in Tucson. This is authentic as it gets and such nostalgia! He asked if we would like to order anything else and I said absolutely. I ordered The Mayor burrito and another shrimp and fish taco combo TO-GO, but this time with the avocado crema instead of the Diablo sauce just for variety. Apparently this is a favorite spot for the local law enforcement too. Every time we make the trip this will be a must stop for us. Perfect ending to our wonderful anniversary trip. Our meat tacos that we had were slightly dry, but I will chalk that up to our inbetween lunch and dinner time that we showed up more than anything else.
