The staff first said a drink on their menu wasn't available, then when we went to leave they were whispering about the drink to themselves and then said they could make it. I said no and waited for my wife to come out of the bathroom. When she came out they tried to give her the drink and charge her without me there because they were being shady. I said no we cancelled since you said you didn't have it available. Then the weird vibe lady said well the bathroom isn't free. I said okay how much for the bathroom? She said $3 dollars and I paid it. They were both weird and rude. There are tons of wonderful shops and restaurants here in Flagstaff and this one is not it. Enjoy yourself and the decent folks that are not at Alejandro's.

Absolutely DELICIOUS! Honestly probably the best enchiladas I've ever had. Everything was so flavorful. This is a family run business that puts so much heart into their food and the service. Can't recommend it enough!

Great food! Birria tacos and salsa are top notch! Local mom and pop shop. Small inside but friendly and clean.

We had a group of 8 , not a lot of seating for large groups but they were not very busy at the moment when we went so they had no trouble finding a spot for us! We chose to sit outside on the patio and it was perfect! We learned that this restaurant is family owned and operated which makes it even better, in my opinion. Everything our table ordered came out hot, tasty and had great quality. There was hardly any wait time , all staff was very polite! We will definitely be back next time we are in this town!

We inadvertently found Alejandro's Mexican Food restaurant while walking around, downtown Flagstaff. We were seated right away and provided with complimentary chips and salsa. I ordered the menudo and my daughter had an Alejandro's burrito. This restaurant took me by surprise! The chips were crispy, the salsa was fresh and tasty! The large burrito was loaded with carne asada, rice, beans and other goodness! The menudo... blew me away! This was the best menudo I've had at a restaurant! It even received the approval of my picky daughter. I highly recommend this place!

Visiting Flagstaff, we were looking for a reasonably-priced dinner and found it at Alejandro's, located right on the main square in Old Town. We started with margaritas then Hubby had Mar y Tierra and raved about a big burro stuffed with shrimp and beef and green sauce. I had posole..a huge serving filled with shredded pork. There's a large patio for outdoor eating and at night, the lighting is charming. It's a sweet family-owned business

I hate to write bad reviews but I'm here to warn others of just what I ordered.... Food was extremely spicy and we like spice... We ordered what looked to be delicious : 1. Aguachile it's a $25 bowl of SPICY watery salsa. Shrimp was VERY over cooked, rubber so we didn't eat more than one each. Which left us with cucumber, avocados and more limes than necessary 2.Birara Ramen was delicious and the tacos it came with were amazing, but the spice factor didn't allow for me to eat much of the soup. I ordered a Palermo to drink (tequila and grapefruit and soda) I was given something that resembled a Palermo but tasted like a Shirley temple. Overall disappointing. Service, Ambiance and location were nice

Alejandro sign so you're not confused by the other Mexican restaurants nearby.

This is a family owned business and the meals taste like they are made from home. The drinks are incredible and the food is out of this world! I highly recommend the Molcajete and the watermelon margaritas! The family takes pride in their restaurant and food, and it shows. I have a food allergy and they made sure they were careful with my meal. They put chorizo on the side for me and substituted beans with another serving of Mexican rice. There is another Mexican food restaurant next-door that sells seafood, so be careful not to mistake it for Alejandro's! Alejandro's is the best!

Decided to dine here for Cinco De Mayo and was pleased! It's Authentic Family owned Mexican in the heart of DTFlagstaff. Delicious Tacos, Margaritas and Churros!

WOW! Amazing food and outstanding service. Georgette was so caring and helpful. She went above and beyond to make our experience the best. My husband said the salsa was the best he's ever had!! We had the fajitas they were super tasty and very satisfying! Support this amazing local, family owned business! A must visit in Flagstaff!!

Ask the Community - Alejandro's Mexican Food

    Do they cater?

    Probably. Ask Georgette.

I see that the tortillas are homemade, which I love!! But can anyone tell me what type of cooking and frying oil is used for their food?

I believe it is vegetable oil.

We ordered (Tapatio Enchilada, Burrito De Camaron, kid cheese quesadillas) a margarita and kid's meal. Food were excellent 10/10!! We were impressed with everything, bussers or food runners they were super intensive. We got our drinks refilled, our boxes and dessert ordered by one of them. Also ordered another margarita once we ordered a fried Ice-cream. We love this place, would go every once in a while, because their food is so good and my fiancée is in love with their margarita. But here it comes, we asked for the check from our saver. Everything came right, but last one was 18% fees which was $22 something. And on the bottom of the check said gratuity is not included or tip is not included (something like that, didn't think of taking a picture). So we asked the saver and he said don't worry we will fix it. We ended up tipping him $30 cash, which we could have given it to bussers or food tunners instead. My question is, was it really the system error or was it because we were Asian and people assumed we don't know English? We love this place, and we're local here and now we have to think twice before returning who would be our server. Double check your bill before you pay.

Thinking the tacos would be small I ordered three. I had to take one home because I was full after two. And that's without rice and beans Please come here hungry! You will lot be disappointed. The service was great. So attentive. They stopped by often and asked, how is everything? Really welcoming. Can't wait to come back. Everything was amazing. ENJOY!!!

We were craving Mexican food and found this gem on Yelp! It had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we ate here! I had the chilaquiles with red sauce and chicken. The food was amazing! They give you a lot, which I couldn't finish, but I totally took the rest home and ate it! The red sauce had great flavor and not spicy at all. The chicken was seasoned well. My mom had the chimichanga with green chili and she loved it! She said the meat was not dry and the green chili was delicious. Our fave were the chips and salsa! We loved the salsa so much, we bought a pint to take with us on our trip. As for the restaurant, the atmosphere was very upbeat, colorful, and full of culture. The inside is a little small, but when we went about 11am on a Thursday, it wasn't busy at all. Although, I did hear this place gets packed. Parking appeared very limited as this place is located in a small plaza area. Despite this, this restaurant is totally worth a try! My mom and I plan on coming back when we visit again!

They have some very cool Day of the Dead style artwork on the walls which was fun to look at.
